Hello
Posted 4 years agoHello Everyone
I know it's been a good few years since I made a journal and at least a year since I uploaded some artwork. The last few years have been rather difficult between my spouses mental health issues and my mothers cancer. Unfortunately the cancer finally won and my mum passed away in November. The lockdown here did not make it easy on us. I was lucky the hospital allowed us to stay with her but by the time I was allowed to see her she was in a coma. I hadn't seen her since June. I am thankful it wasn't Covid that took her, it allowed my family to be with her till the end. Things are starting to look up though, my Dad got his vaccines which means I can visit him more often as he was on his own after she passed away and my spouse has finally been able to get proper treatment. They were in a very, very dark place in the middle of last year. Their treatment took awhile to work but they're so much better now. I will try to upload some work over the coming months but a lot of it has been vent art that I haven't posted anywhere. I do a lot of graphic design work too so that has also stopped me doing my own stuff.
I am more active on twitter as it's easier to use on my phone than here. My twitter accounts are FoxxieAngel for my thoughts and Alopexdog for my artwork.

Life and where I stand right now
Posted 8 years agoMy last journal started that I was getting back into art, and that was true, it just wasn't the art I expected. I've been doing a lot of freelance photo editing, illustration and logo design. I've only had the time to do small amounts of personal work. Most of it is unfinished but at some stage i'll work on it.
For the moment though I need to take a step back from everything. My 14 year old dog, who I've had for the past 11 years passed away last Thursday. He had cancer somewhere in his back region, possibly his bladder. He had developed a horrible cough, was breathing rapidly and seemed in constant pain. He had stopped eating and became utterly lethargic. We don't believe it was bordatella as my other dog did not develop any symptoms and the cough was rather different. We could have opted for exploratory surgery but it only had a slim chance of doing anything, plus even if the tumor in his back end was removable he'd still possibly be in pain from other unseen problems, at most he might have seen Christmas and he would have had to spend a huge amount of time recovering from major surgery in addition to the other problems, if it wasn't operable he would have had to be euthanized on the table. He had gone downhill so fast over the last week. He had had 3 chest x-rays but nothing showed up on his lungs, that doesn't mean that nothing was there however, it may have been to small to detect. It was possibly the hardest decision I've ever had to make. We all decided that prolonging his suffering would have been selfish. I was so proud of my daughter, she held him with myself and my husband as he passed away.

FA and where I stand. Where to find me elsewhere!
Posted 9 years agoHello friends/watchers/random visitors
I am cutting down my activity on Furaffinity until things are entirely smoothed over. I discovered that accounts using my associated email address were being targeted. Thankfully nothing was broken into but I'm going to play it safe, I made a new email account purely for this website in case this happens again and removed the previous one from any other website I used it on. I suggest you all do the same. I'd also advise you to change anything that used your FA password.
This latest problem isn't something minor, we were originally told that only uploads and user names were affected. Then we were told encrypted emails and passwords were leaked but after all the attempts on my own and other people's various accounts I can't help but feel this was an understatement. I am under the impression the site is still using the leaked source code which means it's still vulnerable. Even the mess up of using http instead of https for the forced password reset leaves me feeling a bit uneasy. Nothing against them personally but I can't help but feel the admins here are in way over their heads.
I will still be stopping by to check others artwork. The users of FA have been very good to me over the years.

I'm saving up to get some much needed upgrades done to my computer. It's 8 years old and it's age is starting to show :-/ Hopefully once I've given this thing a boost I'll be able to actually draw bigger pictures and upload more without the constant lagging and crashing >:[

Frozen Dolls for art, kinda desperate here.
Posted 11 years agoThis is a weird request. I'm looking for two frozen dolls, this and this I'm willing to trade them for a SFW wing it at the same quality as this
I'll be quite honest here, I do not have enough money right now for Christmas. We've just enough money to cover food for the week after everything for bills\rent has been taken. I'm having a shit year all round but would very much like to actually see my daughter get something she wants for Christmas. I've found dolls on Ebay but they're all cheap copies. I did buy one but it is badly made and has a lot of sharp bits on it. Not something I want to give to a 5 year old.
I'm hoping someone who lives near a Disney store can buy it/post it to me as a gift as the last time I got something delivered directly from there I was hit with huge import fees (for what I don't know)

Cause for celebration
Posted 11 years agoThe landlord for my new house has said I can bring my dogs with me. The lease was just a standard one and he'd forgot to remove the no pets part. This had been one of the major things depressing me but now that they can come with us I feel a whole lot better! My family won't be seperated.
I will start moving stuff up to the new house this weekend and up until the 14th of June. Then I'll be with my parents for the last few weeks of June till my daughter finishes school and it's up to the house

Dodging Homelessness.
Posted 11 years agoFor the last while myself and my family have been in a bad predicament. I have posted over the years about my living conditions being less than desirable. I lived in a house that belonged to my inlaws. Some may remember me posting photographs from a particularly bad winter where I lost my water for close to a week and how part of the roof fell in.
We stayed here as we could not afford to rent in Dublin and definitely could not afford to buy. People on My live journal will have read more over the years about my situation. It turns out my Father In Law re mortgaged the house, spent the money badly and couldn't repay the debt so now the house has been taken off him. None of this was anything myself or my Husband knew about until we got a letter through the door from the receivers.
We need to be out by the 15th of June.
We have, as of today, managed to get rented property up near where my Husband works. About 50km (31 miles) away. It was some of the cheapest and we can only just afford it. We'll be living on soup for the year I fear but I am thankful we got it as there is a huge housing crisis in Ireland right now.
This will be much better than our current living arrangements too but I will need to stay in Dublin with family until the start of July as my daughter will finish school after the deadline. I also need to find someone who will let my dogs live with them for a year. I'm hoping some relatives in Wales can.
In this year we plan on trying to get to England. There is nothing in Ireland any more. My Husbands qualifications are not needed here. He is an art historian with experience in running major art galleries and in restoring old buildings. We'll be looking at jobs in the National Trust.
Once I have settled in my new accommodation I hope to become more active. I am currently mailing people I owe things to. I will probably disappear for a month or so in June/July due to moving.
I'm just hoping that our financial situation improves somewhat. We were barely surviving before we had to pay rent.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes!
Posted 12 years agoThanks those who wished me a happy birthday last week. It cheered me up immensely. I'm trying hard to get back into drawing again. Now that my daughter is back in school it should be easier.
I have a few people I still owe stuff to and I'm going to update the journal footer to reflect that. In the meantime I am going to take on some $12 icons as that's the most I can do right now. I think in the future I'll try some YCH commissions.
Now excuse me while I go see if I can do something about my leaking roof. I am seriously thinking of apprenticing myself to a roofer. My daughters room just got drenched in rainwater :(

I've become invisible it seems D:
Posted 12 years agoHello world!
I'm still alive sort of, I am trying to get back on track with art and what I owe. I've stuff to photograph and send to people which I was supposed to do weeks ago. I will be back on top of things this week. Life is an extraordinary rollercoaster sometimes.

$50 Wing its!
Posted 13 years agoI'm going to open up for a few wing its. Basically you give me the character and give me a rating/theme and I give back a finished product. Single characters for the moment (unless you make me an offer I can't refuse lol..) with a few props and simplistic background. Payment is PAYPAL ONLY I'll try have a proper example for Monday but the closest examples I have are these :

These will have better backgrounds and colouring more closer to my more recent stuff.
I am willing to do X-rated stuff, This will be the last time I'll do anything NSFW for awhile.
If your interested, note me.
I'm also still open for $10 chibis here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3879200/
