I apologize for our absence in the mean time!
As you probably know, this group was banned (permanently suspended) which halted all activity.
The group was impetuously banned for using automation scripts to essentially run the group (bots), and although not all bots are bad, the group was thrown under the bus regardless.
The group was banned in the early weeks of January in which I promptly sent a repeal.




This is the repeal I sent on January 19th:

I am writing about group accounts of mine that have been suspended.
Case 1: Happybirthdaygroup
claimed reason: COC Section 1.12
Appeal: In this journal management claims that " While we allow scripts and add-ons (provided they're not malicious or have a detrimental impact to the site)". COC 1.12 claims "spam" however FA itself doesn't define what it considers spam, so i'll reference wikipedia's definition.
the birthday group published daily journals containing users birthdays as well as a birthday shout to their page, after which the previous days journal was deleted. This does not classify as spam since: A) journals/shouts are not ads. B) journals are not comments, shouts, or notes, C) users voluntarily register themselves, therefore page shouts are NOT unsolicited D) i had permission from admins via notes that this system was ok.
Addendum: please take second to acknowledge this groups intentions as positive to the community AND does NOT "put an undue burden on the site and our resources or which has a negative impact to other users."

I was finally told the ban would be lifted on Feb 24th with this email from FA:
... Likewise, I have lifted the suspension from your BirthdayGroup.

Is there anything else I can assist you with today?>

However the group remained banned for months after the message.
At this point, because my life was pretty hectic at the time with graduating college and searching for a career, I had given up hope that this account would ever become unbanned. So i shutdown the server and called it a wrap.

It wasn't until today that someone noted me that the group appeared to be unsuspended, and to my amazement, it was!

ANYWAYS
We're back now!
Luckily I backed up the server on my personal computer before I pulled the plug, so everyones birthday information is still saved.
It's going to take me a bit to set up a new server and have everything operational again.
Until then, the birthday add flash application on the front page will not work and the group will not post any birthday journal or shouts.
Since i'm pretty busy right now, it might take me several days at the most to build the operational server.

Until then, feel free to leave a comment here on THIS journal if you'd like to add your birthday.

After our old add journal surpassed 1000 comments, it became tedious for users to wait for the ridiculously huge page to load and then scroll aaaaall the way down the bottom in order to comment a request. (which can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4885934/)
So to fix this problem, i created a Flash solution which is quicker to load, easier to use, and more responsive to request. I've done some testing and released its final version here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14511346/
of course i realize that most people are on mobile when they want to send a request, so i made a html form that will work with mobile platforms here: http://ec2-54-201-168-210.us-west-2.....com/happyBday/
Although, in case people dont wish to use either of the two, i created a new add journal where people can comment request the old way (located here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6108982/)

well i hope this helps everyone, this should be the last update i have to make for awhile. we are almost at 1200 birthdays, i hope we can reach 1500 by the end of this year. hopefully the new methods i have created will encourage more people to add their and their friends birthdays.

Happybirthdaygroup celebrates its first 1k birthdays that have been added to this group!
 crashwolf was our one thousandth birthday to be added :3

It is my hope that more and more of you will decide to add yourselves and your friends so that we may wish even MORE of the community a happy birthday and so that others might as well too.

Our group is unlike any other, it is constantly working, consistent, and will never become inactive. Sadly unlike so many other groups i have seen, that start up strong but only remain active a certain amount of time before they fizzle and die. People move on to other things, forget, or just lack the will to continue maintaining a group, but not us. Updated the adding procedure today so that if ur name has a "_" and your page url doesnt, it'll try again to add the name again by removing the "_" from the name.
Since SOME people can't read the directions at the top, I decided to add this function.
However, if the instructions at the top were followed, this problem wouldn't exist >_<
