Happy fireworks day and art contest voting
General | Posted 15 years agoHappy advance Fourth, to those of you who celebrate it! Here is some independence-themed news.
SydneySnake's illustration of one of my stories, Damsel in Distress: Release! has been nominated in an art contest on the TNSC site with the theme "Independence Day."
Here is the site if you want visit, check out the submissions, and vote for the pic you feel is best.
Had nothing to do with the nomination, but both the original line artist SydneySnake and the colorist kitcoon did a great job on that Damsel in Distress pic so I'm glad for them if it generates a little extra attention.

General | Posted 15 years ago*Edit: Mystery solved. Many thanks to (publicly anonymous) gifter.*
hey watchers, not to look a gift horse/lion/bunny/fox/marsupial/or other species in the mouth, but if you've gotten me anonymous gift commissions, not that i'm not appreciative, in fact i'm quite appreciative, but can you ping me somehow (a note is fine) and let me know? If you prefer to remain anonymous, you can comment anonymously on my LJ ( http://kitncub.livejournal.com/ ) and just say you know me or don't know me but wanted for some strange reason to get me art or whatev. i don't want to accidentally commission material that might offend the gifter, and in general — i'm always more comfortable knowing what's going on. talk to you soon, —k.

General | Posted 15 years agoBaby Blue extra: most viewed stories
General | Posted 15 years ago2011 is indeed insanely busy, really no time to think about new projects. Hope yours has been saner! I did say I might do occasional journal entry extras for those interested in the Pink and Blue Diaperfur Adventures. So here's some trivia for the curious!
For my own curiosity I took a quick look at which parts of the series have been the most read/reread (on FA, may differ on other sites). Here are the parts with the most views.
Significantly higher than the others:
#1. Operation Baby Blue
#2. Serafina's Big Day
Then, with more clumping:
#3. The Star Attractions (All)
#4. 24/7! (All) and 24/7 Part: One [Part One and the whole story about tied]
#5. Open House: Level 3 (Standing!: Dex)
#6. Open House: Level One (Playing!:Rian)
What do you think? Does democracy work? What's your favorite part and is it on the most viewed list?
Now back to our regularly scheduled silence!

Year in review: 2010 and Baby Blue
General | Posted 15 years agoPrelim: Looks like I may have lost some journal comments during the FA troubles; if I owed anyone a reply to any journal comments, sorry, nothing personal—I may never have seen your comment!
A bit late with the year in review routine, but here goes! Those of you following my stories on FA may think of 2010 as the year of Baby Blue — and it was! It was a year of many changes for me (not just *that* kind—changing careers; going back to grad school; moving across the country) and through much uncertainty about where I'd ultimately land those boys and their adventures were one constant thread. It still feels strange not to be working on their next adventure. Readers on here also became one group of people I could interact with without worrying about any of the foregoing parentheticals! So thanks all of you.
Why am I saying this now? In case you missed it, my long-running series of Pink and Blue Diaperfur Adventure stories has wrapped for the time being. Check out the complete finale or, if you want to read back, the complete list of stories on my profile page.
There is some fanfiction in the Pink and Blue universe and I've been journaling and linking to that as I read it. The finale does offer some openings for fanfiction, and if you're so inclined—more power to you! I'd be happy to see it go up!
If you've read it all, and are looking for something else to read:
all I can offer at the moment is my pre-Pink and Blue diaperfur story:
Negative Capabilities, Part One
Negative Capabilities, Part Two: Christmas Endings
In brief: The twenty-something fox Jaice has a very unusual living situation with his lupine partner; and when Jaice's boyfriend announces he's leaving on a mysterious trip the fox's life seems to be getting stranger by the minute!
If you are super-curious (like a cat and) have lingering questions about the BB universe and the series, feel free to ask! I'll try to resolve them for you.
I said I'd post a few extras so here's a peek (just for fun) at part of my Pink and Blue finale playlist. Both in ironic fun and to keep some universal feelings at the heart of the series I'd try to pick vanilla heterosexual love songs and apply them to diaperboys wrestling with their tangled sexual feelings.
Here are some of those deliberately gender/orientation-warped choices:
Dex longs for Rian: You're Beautiful (James Blunt)
Twitchy builds a webpage for Dex: She's Got You (Patsy Cline)
Stephen (skunk) tries to get Twitchy's attention: Another Day (Rent)
Rian and Serafina proposal/wedding/honeymoon: Sweet Caroline (Neil Diamond)
Some less warped and more earnest choices:
Dex and Lin Lin couple theme: Closing Time (Leonard Cohen)
Dex and Lin Lin take off for a summer odyssey: I Want You To (Weezer)
Twitchy in the coffee shop: Lonely People (America)
What's next? Well that's always a mystery, isn't it? This will be a busy year, but I'll keep thinking when I can and will see what time and imagination permit. But for now happy 2011, everyone! Thanks for spending part of your 2010 with me/us!

Pink & Blue fanfiction: Open House: New Game+
General | Posted 15 years agoJust got around to reading the final posted version myself!
For anyone who wants to hop back into the Pink and Blue Diaperfur universe, go check out the first part of a fun and remarkably faithful tie-in story by:
kitcoon
(added to the Pink and Blue fan collection on my profile page)
Open House: New Game + (Part 1)
This lower decks view of Baby Blue retells the beginning of the pink and blue recruiting clash in Open House from a new recruit's perspective. I was going to say bottom-up view but it wouldn't be the Baby Blue woods if a padded bottom (often a certain raccoon's...) wasn't on view!
The events of the story are carefully built around scenes in Open House: Levels One and Two to fill in the story of a dangerous sissy saboteur and the heroic recruit who steps up without growing up.
So check it out and play nice, everyone—give the Cub Scout author comments, favorites, and cookies if you enjoy, it took him a long time and many sheets of jumbo-ruled kids' writing paper to get all that down in black crayon.

Pink & Blue finale clues and teasers!
General | Posted 15 years agoJust posted the last part of Level 5: Graduation, A Pink and Blue Diaperfur Adventure!
Later this week, I'll post a collected Level 5: Graduation file for those who want to reread or catch up, and will do a more reflective journal. But for now, there's an adventure ahead, so... Before you read it, if you want some extra fun/hints!
Going into the finale, there are some unanswered questions that we know need to be cleared up, like:
Where are Dex and Lin Lin? Did they meet up at the end of that fateful night—or not?
What will happen to Twitchy? Okay, so he proved himself to Roger, but what about the other boys in Baby Blue? Dex won't be the only one who has a beef with the bunny!
Will Shelley take her money and run? She wants nothing to do with these diaperboys, after all.
Can the pink and blue teams restore any kind of balance, after such a violent attack? (I mean Ace and Jax were potty-training sissies for goodness' sake! Oh, I think someone blew something up, too.)
There are some questions that don't need an answer, too, questions with obvious responses like:
Will the force potty-training administered by Ace and Jax have lasting results?
Will there ever be peace between pink and blue?
Will Dex ever try disposables, and will Rian ever go cloth?
You might as well ask, will Rian switch back to big kid undies, or pull-ups maybe? Or, will Twitchy ever make oatmeal, just to eat for breakfast? Or, isn't Roger big enough that he doesn't need to wear diapers? Keep them coming; we like easy questions!
But there are also mysteries of the universe that will be unriddled in the final segment, including:
What are the stakes in Roger and Callie's game?
How did Callie get the money to buy a school building?
And, what was "the big secret" Roger once mentioned to Rian?
All these and more, in the same link I posted at the top.

Pink and Blue review: recalling our special guest stars!
General | Posted 15 years agoHappy holidays, all. I said there’d be a few more journal extras in the run-up to the last Pink and Blue Diaperfur Adventures (list of stories on my profile) chapter (posting after Christmas).
I don’t want to forget to highlight one of the things that has made the finale saga such a fun experience for me—the chance to connect with many of you by including a lot of reader-based characters, be they as friend-to-friend tributes, special prizes, or answers to my ages-ago cameo offer. Thanks to all of you for support and participation—I do hope the appearances were fun for everybody!
Before things wrap, I want to look back and salute—our special Pink and Blue universe guest stars!
On the side of Pink!
Swifty Fox, in the role of: Boba Fett, sissy version of! Look for him in Open House, Episode Five: Retaliation! But keep your guard up, or you might leave in a skirt!
Iggy the gray hyena: Who says housework is for girls? Nuh-uh. The degrading chores are for boys like this one. This willing sissy slaveboy is ready to service the superior sex, if he only he can get it right. Iggy is oh-so-obedient yet oh-so-useless to his indifferent female mistress, Shelley. Look for him in Level Five: Graduation, Episode 3: The Pure of Heart!
Azzie, the jackal-skunk: This hybrid’s a shy and sweet boy whose interests include music, baking, and knitting. (Diapers go without saying.) Do you think he belongs on a rough-and-tumble boys’ group? Swifty Fox and Serafina don’t think so, either. They’ll get him properly reassigned in Open House, Episode 6: Ambush!
On the side of Blue!
Byron: This malamute works odd jobs and long hours, but he’s true blue, impervious to sissifying cooties, and thoroughly boy. Rian makes special efforts to help this big bad and still a bit insecure about his diapers baby dog relax with the rest of the group. Catch one such session in Open House, Episode 2: Unto the Beach!
Kit Raccoon, in the role of: Wedge Antilles. Loyal wingman of the Rebel Alliance! See the crackerjack cub scout uniquely rewarded for heroism in Open House, Episode 12: Car Trouble!
Ben, leonine strike team trainee: An unapologetic Naruto fan, this caretaking cat has the makings of a prime Baby Blue combat team member. He knows fighting jutsu to keep his cubbier playmates safe and changing jutsu advanced enough not only to keep them dry but even to keep those hyperactive little cubbybutts from leaking. Don’t think he’s too big to play—or dress—like one of the kids, though! He brings game-changing intelligence to the team in Open House, Episode 10: Nuclear Capability!
Diesel, the Doberman mechanic: Twitchy’s recruit and the newest addition to the Baby Blue tech support and engineering team. Any mechanic can change your oil, but after you take your Power Wheel to Diesel, it will never run the same. Don’t let the child highway safety bureau know that your souped-up vehicle can reach speeds in excess of 10 mph. He gets a fateful visit from a collie reporter in Open House, Episode 12: Car Trouble!
Steven Hellbraun, athletic giraffe: This shy, good-natured ungulate recently became the tallest boys’ team member. He sports checkerboard-like markings and is a crackerjack kite-flying specialist, his height enabling him to direct the traffic of a whole armada. Although not girly, he’s a natural submissive despite his strength and high pain tolerance, so it’s a good thing the boys got to him first; Dex snatches him away from the pink team combat leader Lin Lin on the recruiting field in Open House, Episode 1: Prospects!
Ryo, white canine combat trainee: A strike team prospect, Ryo is a practiced swordsman and rice paper targets fear his foam katana; he’s also been trained by Byron, his recruiter, in traveling across rough terrain wet—I mean, in traveling across rough, wet terrain. He’s pretty sure he belongs with the boys, but he harbors a secret fascination with the mysterious enemy headmistress based on stories he’s heard about her. Fate will leave him in the right place at the right time to lead headmistress Calliope to the boys’ camp (and make a friend of his own on the way) in Level Five, Graduation: Episode 2: The Hop-along Kid!
Dangerously neutral!
Both teams overlooked school paper (and nearly paper-trained) reporter Blaze Collie in their recruiting drives, and they’ll be sorry they did. A collie is smarter and handier than your average canine, and Twitchy’s attempt to use the reporter in his plan to make Dex a local hero backfire big-time when the bystander cottons to the truth about Dex’s bulky undergarments—and decides the raccoon’s public heroism could be a big break for the diaperfur community. Blaze appears on the scene in Open House, Episode 8: Accident!

Pink and Blue review: Twitchy and Squeak
General | Posted 15 years agoHappy holidays, all! As the Pink and Blue Diaperfur Adventures finale looms (just posted the second-to-last part, and one part remains to go), it's time to look back on another of our half-housebroken heroes!
The fresh-faced, goggle-wearing bunny engineer Twitchy and his pocket-sized mouse partner, Squeak, together lead the Baby Blue tech support team in Hideout #4. They arrived with a bang—and a crinkle—as the second-string heroes of Damsel in Distress. Often snappish and sleep-deprived, the brilliant but emotionally obtuse bunny has had a bumpier ride than most of our heroes lately and been through up and downs not only with his boyfriend but his longtime partner in gadgetry Squeak. Some even think Twitchy is the real bad guy of the series. He’s certainly hopped from the nice to the naughty list and back again — so where will he end up in our final installment?
Maybe looking back on some of Twitchy and Squeak’s biggest moments will help us figure it out. Feel free to comment if you wish with your own suggestions, reactions to the picks, or your own thoughts about Twitch!
1) Twitchy and his buddy Squeak tag-team to thwart Lin Lin's trap for Baby Blue, saving the entire team from forced frilliness, by penetrating the panda's smokescreen, springing her blue-sympathizing teammate, Serafina, and arming Serry to help the boys, in Damsel in Distress, Episode 5: Failsafe!
2) Twitchy's deep dark secret is wrapped up in the memory of a heroic act he performed long ago, recollected in Open House, Episode 7: The Warren!
Bonus: We learn in this flashback where Twitchy got his goggles and how he met Squeak.
3) Squeak picks up on a signal and tag-teams with the high chair-bound Dex to get the coon free and help him bring the big top crashing down on some bad guys in Star Attractions, Episode 8:Anger Management!
4) Twitchy's wolf friend Rian helps him become comfortable with a side of himself he's always struggled with, and make a most—perhaps the most—important confession (it's "I love my diapers," obviously) in Damsel in Distress, Episode Three: Plots and Counterplots
5) The bunny steps up his long whispered-about nefarious plan to win over Dex, and it turns out to be . . . setting the coon up as the hero of the hour, and landing him a job! Then, high on the rush of his boyfriend's success, the previously hedgy Twitchy finds the courage to come out, in Open House, Episode 10: New Day!
6) The imprisoned Twitchy tricks the circus crew holding him captive into broadcasting SOS in Morse code, catching the attention of the friends on his trail, in Star Attractions, Episode One: Overlook!
7) When cornered by a collie reporter, Twitchy surprises his foe and himself and prepares to lay down what's been most important to him to protect the new life he built for Dex, in Level Five: Graduation, Episode Two: The Hop-along Kid!
8) Twitchy is the only one to get a glimpse of a horrifyingly different — and totally potty-trained — reality, in Twitchy Gets Lost! Naturally the bunny has a plan to undo whatever caused this cataclysmic shift in the space-time continuum, and get his buddies back in their diapers!

General | Posted 15 years agoHello, cubs — hope you're all being good! Remember, Santa (or some appropriate non-sectarian but benign festive being) is watching!
Two parts to go in the Pink and Blue Diaperfur Adventures series! And some of the biggest mysteries of the universe have now been explained — like why Dex has had so much trouble expressing his feelings for Rian and why the coon has floundered sexually for so long!
You were with Dex when he came to terms with his final secret — so can you still accept our raccoon hero?
Next part goes up this weekend. In addition to finding out what will happen between Dex, Rian, and Lin Lin, and whether anyone can make sense of the chaos at the academy, it's time to answer some other lingering questions.
The following will be answered soon!
If you have burning questions of your own about any of the Pink and Blue characters or plots — feel free to comment or note!
Some mysteries still to be answered:
1) We left our bunny hero at the end of his rope — literally!
With the academy thrown into chaos, and Dex and Rian fighting, can anyone save Twitchy from taking a tumble? And even if they can — what will happen to the rabbit tomorrow?
2) Who left an anonymous note for Dex after his campus protest?
Clues (from Open House, Episode 13): There were green ice cream stains at the edges of the yellow legal paper, and a simple, hastily scrawled note. “From one loser to another,” Dex read. “Good luck, kid.” That was it.
3) They aren't all birdwatchers! That's only Jax's hobby. So, how does the non-age-playing squirrel dom Shelley know Roger and Callie?
4) Where does Cassie want to take Dex? Does the academy really have another Level 5 consultant?
Scavenger hunt!
All right, junior detectives! You don't need to catch them to follow the story, but the final parts will contain a few Easter eggs for the benefit of those who've read all my stories.
Just for fun, here are some clues, that may or may not be related to any of the questions above! You might pick up some extra things in the next part (or might be able to unravel some Pink and Blue mysteries on your own) if you remember the following longer-ago bits:
1) Star Attractions, Episode 7: Into the Fire
2) 24/7!: Part Two — Hint!: Look somewhere between 4 p.m. and nightfall.
3) Twitchy Gets Lost
4) Open House, Episode 3: Bonding!
(And who knows what else...!)

Pink and Blue stories resume
General | Posted 15 years agoThanks for your patience, waiters and watchers! As Einstein demonstrated, time is experienced differently by those in freefall than by those watching them. So in other words, yes, Twitchy has been falling from the end of a rope for more than a month. But it doesn't feel that way to him.
Well, good news, everyone! The whole Pink & Blue Diaperfur Adventures finale is written, and will begin posting in weekly installments, starting . . . now!
If you need a refresher, take a glance back at
Level 5, Graduation: Part One
then go on to the new one at
Level 5, Graduation: Part Two
Hype trailer: This is one of the craziest parts to date, and features one of the most shocking plot twists in furry literature, as our hero Dex's deepest secret is revealed! The Pink & Blue universe may never be the same! Just hold on for the ride and don't say I didn't warn you!
I'll be doing some journals to list Pink & Blue mysteries that await resolution as the series continues. As I've said before my goal is to give you a finale that does a better job of tying things up than Lost, Battlestar Galactica, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer! (And I liked all those shows, so don't go hating on me just b/c I said their finales were . . . troubled.) Hope you'll enjoy it as long as you stay with me!

General | Posted 15 years agoSafe travels, everyone!
No comment on the recent FA policy changes.
I don't plan to do anything different here. But just in case and for babyfurs who are moving over to other sites, y'all can also find me on:
1) SoFurry: http://kitncub.sofurry.com/
2) InkBunny, where I am just beginning to put up the Pink and Blue stories so there will be another mirror: http://inkbunny.net/kitncub
Watch me on either, the water's fine.
(By the way if anyone knows of other good story sites I should be aware of, feel free to comment or note me, I've had the most luck on FA and the pre-SF Yiffstar.)

Pink and Blue review: Dex's heroics, Lin Lin's insults
General | Posted 15 years agoHello, readers! Hope everyone in the U.S. is looking forward to a good Thanksgiving week. Sorry to leave you (and Twitchy) hanging, but, since I have much RL obligatory work to do, it could still be a few weeks before I post more of the Pink and Blue Diaperfur adventure Level Five: Graduation.
(Aim is to start posting when it's all written so that I can release the remaining parts in regular succession, instead of one here and one there.)
In the meantime, to keep in touch — here is another walk down memory lane! This clip show is devoted to two characters we'll need to catch up with when we return to the sissy academy: Dex and Lin Lin.
Thanks for your patience, and hope to supply some other extras along the way! Feel free to comment on your favorites, to suggest others I've missed, to propose ideas for round-ups or trivia extras, or just to say hi and stuff!
Dex's heroics!
Poor Dex will have his black belt in kenpo karate long before he'll be able to wear a tag that says "potty-trained." A crippling tournament loss years ago left our regression-prone raccoon hero incurably incontinent and dependent on his diapers. But apart from the bladder-related ones, his emergency response reflexes are sharper than your average raccoon's! This is a look back on some of the big coon kit's most heroic moments — sometimes as an action hero, and sometimes as an everyday one.
1) Remembering the real reason he started regressing allows Dex to break out of hypnosis and bring the house down on the circus crew holding Twitchy captive, in Star Attractions, Episode 7: Into the Fire and Star Attractions, Episode 8: Anger Management!
2) Dex recruits Ace and Jax — by ditching them to rescue a subby boy in distress in Boy Scouting.
3) The quick-thinking raccoon works with the tools he's got and uses his cloth diapers to put out a fire when Twitchy is in danger, in Open House, Episode 8: Accident!
4) Dex prepares himself to make a secret sacrifice for his best friend Rian in Open House, Episode 13: Invitations.
5) Rian sees the cloth-wearing coon differently when his secret is revealed in Damsel in Distress: Episode 6: The Sidekick Steps Up!
6) Dex catches a hostile panda off-guard in Star Attractions, Episode 4: A Walk in the Woods.
Lin Lin's insults!
Pink team tactical and combat expert Lin Lin is good at juggling. (Actually, she really is, but that's beside the point.) The scheming, multitalented panda has been a boy and a girl, and her first language is Mandarin. But her English is perfect when it comes to putting boys in their place. Let's look back on just a pawful of examples:
Sample nicknames:
"Cadet cubby," "Mr. 'Now let met show you the secret pawshake'": for Rian
"Flipper and the Rainbow Scouts": for Byron, Ace, and Jax
"the ambiguously aged duo": for Dex and Twitchy
Dex's "bosom bunny": for Twitchy
"karate kit," "ring-tailed wonder": for Dex
"Commander in crinkles": for Roger
Sample one-liners:
1) "All that would have been considerably more impressive if your throw had actually hit me!" she shouted up at Twitchy. "But since you missed, I assume you are what they call the second string. Well, do not worry," she gestured behind her at Dex, who only wailed louder as two girls held his legs down long enough for a third to yank his pants off. "I am still accepting applications."
2) "Say, your English is getting better all the time."
"It was always better than your Chinese," the panda said frostily.
"But I don't speak-" Dex laughed jovially, "Oh, I get it."
3) Lin Lin waved one paw at them dismissively. “You stooges might want to make Distraction Central more convincing next time by bringing more than three furs."
4) The tiger tipped his hat to her and flashed a toothy, predatory smile, letting his gentlemanly veneer fall away. "As you wish. I just hope you're a better loser than your friend over there." He jerked his head in Dex's direction.
"Wouldn't know," the panda shot back coolly as she began shuffling. "I don't have enough experience."

Pink and Blue update (but not by me)
General | Posted 15 years agoEdit: Link updated now that the story's back up.
I need to thank two readers for Bitter Rivals, a short pink and blue universe fanfiction by Baby Blue player
kitcoon (Kit Raccoon) and the Pink team's undercover sissy
Swift_Fox (Swifty Fox), who it seems enjoyed their appearances in Open House!
I need to thank them because: I can count this as content and buy myself more time for the next part. I didn't even need to write a filler or another retrospective list myself! My evil plan is working out perfectly! *maniacal lupine laughter*
Seriously, though, I am moved by the appreciation and hope all of you who have had guest slots in the series so far (you know who you are!) have also been enjoying yours. It always means a lot to me to hear from furs who've enjoyed the stories

Pink and Blue review: Rian's regressive hits
General | Posted 15 years agoSince I probably won't get new content up this weekend, and since the series is winding down, it's time for a Pink and Blue clip show featuring one of our favorite heroes! (Will probably post a few more of these as the series approaches conclusion.)
No one would believe now that the shrimpy five-foot-five twenty-something wolf Rian was once terrified to admit to his fetish interests. As second-in-command and social chair of the diaperboy fraternity Baby Blue, the wolf is one of the most popular diaperfurs in town and regards his club and its members as his real family. (He's not on such good terms with the biological one.) Rian prides himself on his ability to loosen up other boys and make them feel comfortable with themselves and their regressive desires — and he often employs unconventional means to do it.
So today we look back quickly on some of Rian's greatest hits:
1) The cubby wolf endures dangerous trials up to and including an inept blow job to ensure that the sissy princess he loves has a perfect day, in Serafina's Big Day.
2) Rian repossesses an automobile for Baby Blue from someone who's clearly too young to be driving it in Open House, Level 4.
3) Rian throws a theme party to celebrate his decision to wear diapers 24/7, but with the party underway he spends most of his time on surprises for two of the guests, Dex, his incontinent friend, and Byron, who seems uncomfortable using his diapers, in 24/7!: Part Three.
4) In today's educational segments, Rian gives a malamute lessons on shoe-tying and a Dalmatian lessons in spelling in Open House, Level One! But despite the lupine's patient tutoring, neither dog is learning too well!
5) Also in Open House, Level One, Rian challenges his best friend Dex to a rigged contest where a footed sleeper is just part of the prize.
6) Rian's "foot massage" helps a bunny admit the truth about his diapers, in Damsel in Distress, Part One.
7) Rian finds that dressing up helps him loosen up when interrogating a "kidnapped" Serafina in Operation Baby Blue.
And of course. . .
8) Rian confesses his love for Serafina and breaks out of his induction to rescue his princess from one of the most terrible forms of punishment that can be visited on a fox, in Damsel in Distress, Part Three.
That's it for today! Feel free to write in with your preferences or add any that were missed to the list! Future segments may look back on some of our other heroes.

Baby Blue newsflashes and trivia
General | Posted 15 years agoOkay, for all those of you distressed by the previous cliffhanger —
The last Baby Blue story is now underway! (But I'm mean — the first installment of it ends with another heavy-ish cliffhanger. Sorry!
Here's what's going on. First, I've posted all five installments of Open House in one massive file for anyone who wants to have it that way to look back on or catch up. If you've read already, enjoy revisiting your favorite moments!
Second, I've posted the first part of the last Pink and Blue Adventure, Level Five/Graduation.
Level 5/Graduation will be three or four parts (not exactly sure of the breakdown) and I'll try to post every week or two until we wrap.
There is a lot to get through, but part by part, you'll see long-running storylines wind down, mysteries of the Pink and Blue universe explained, and character arcs decisively concluded!
I value all of you reading the series, and my aim is to reward your loyalty and do a better job of wrapping up than either the Lost or Battlestar Galactica finales!
What can I say that's not a spoiler:
The ending has been planned for a long time. Getting there is still a bit tricky, but I'm not making it up as I go.
If you've read all my stories, including the shorts, there will be Easter eggs along the way especially for you! If not, don't worry, you'll still be able to follow if you know the main Pink and Blue character plot!
The focus of the last story is on Pink and Blue core characters! Cameo characters continue to be around in the background. Two or three will still be plot-significant. I just hope you enjoy seeing yours and I hope I'm not pushing anyone's limits by still having their cameos floating around.
Hype Teasers: Unfolding over the next couple parts, Dex is at the center of one of the most shocking plot twists in furry fiction! You will have to read it to believe it!
As I'm wrapping up, I'm trying to post fun facts here and/or in the stories. In the time I've been writing these stories there have been many, many background soundtracks! And they may not agree with your own musical tastes which you're welcome to!
But just for fun: here are some of the more enduring song choices for me as character themes. Some of these have reasons behind them that have been revealed and some may have reasons yet to be revealed.
Partial Baby Blue play list / character themes
Roger/Baby Blue: First We Take Manhattan (Leonard Cohen)
Rian: I'm Your Man (Leonard Cohen)
Dex: [strong] Downeaster Alexa (Billy Joel); [sad] Trail of Broken Hearts (Dragonforce)
Twitchy: [bad Twitchy] The Future (Leonard Cohen); [good Twitchy] Eyes Down (Eels)
Serafina: Only the Good Die Young (Billy Joel)
Lin Lin: I Know Where I've Been (Hairspray)
Rian/Serry/Dex/Twitchy quadrangle: Ain't No Cure for Love (Leonard Cohen)
Boy Scouts Ace and Jax: I'll Make a Man Out of You (Mulan); Democracy (Leonard Cohen)
Byron/Kyle/Kit/Baby Blue supporting boys: The Nicest Kids in Town (Hairspray); Splish Splash (Bobby Darin)
Sissy student themes: Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now (Hairspray); Scott Pilgrim (Plumtree)
Playout/End Themes: Lost Souls in Endless Time (Dragonforce) / Make Your Own Kind of Music (Cass Elliott)

back online-ish: back to Baby Blue
General | Posted 15 years agoOkay, at last I have a reliable Internet connection here. In celebration, the long Baby Blue finale countdown resumes and the first part of Open House: Level 4 goes up for the weekend:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4561851
Yes, first part. or depending on your point of view. More will post next week. I've split it up for ease of reading! You can wait until then but you might need to take precautions to read in one sitting. By now furs reading are probably less surprised than me when I run late and long.
We left at the end of Open House, Level 3, with a number of character secrets in play that will now begin to connect:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4374311
Aiming to get back on a regular posting schedule until the series wraps, we'll see how it goes! We are heading toward the ultimate conclusion—hang on tight and enjoy the ride for as long as you keep enjoying it!
Level 4 contains a lot of allusions you don't need to get but I hope you enjoy if you recognize them, that's part of the fun! Cameo characters continue to show up and don't sweat it if you don't remember them.

Commenter Appreciation! & Baby Blue series
General | Posted 15 years agoImportant news first, about you: You all saw it on the front page — or maybe you didn't, because who browses FurAffinity from the front page? — but this Saturday is going to be FA Commenter Appreciation Day:

I'll jump the trend by giving a shout out to all of you who have given shout outs to me! I'm grateful to all of you who not only take the time to read my stories but also let me know what you think about them — whether that's been in faves, comments, notes, chats, or e-mails.
In the first place, you keep me writing, not view numbers, because I don't know how many people who view a story are actually reading it!
In the second place, comments are not just encouraging, they are helpful! So keep making them for writers and artists you enjoy. You don't have to rack your brains trying to think of suggestions in order to make a good comment! I can say that in my case some furs have simply mentioned characters they like and it's surprised me and led me to do more with those characters. Some have told me they liked things I did in a story that I thought were risky and it's encouraged me to take other risks.
To prove I appreciate commenters here are some spoilers and updates for you commenter and journal-reading types!:
We're now at the beginning of the end (of the Pink & Blue series):
Open House, Level One: Playing (up last weekend):
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4309770
Is the start of a several-part finale saga for the Pink & Blue series.
Long installment, right? I know! Take your time on it! Well, future chapters will not all be *that* long, so don't panic yet! I'm committed to actually wrapping up the series so that does mean there's a lot to put in play. Now I'll be trying to put up a chapter a week (or thereabouts...) until the series wraps.
Starting this weekend: If you've been reading, you know Dex's side of this story. But how much do we know about Twitchy? Why's he with Dex? Does he care about the raccoon? Does he just feel bad for him? If he's serious about it... what's he waiting for? It's time for answers... and surprises! Don't say I didn't warn you...
And thanks again to the Open House cameos who've shown up so far! Don't worry — your characters still have work to do!
