So! Anthrocon! It sure was a convention!

I definitely tried to stress out less and socialise more this year; I think I did all right but I think I'll do better next year. I got a lot more actual sketchbooks this year than I expected (last year I mainly received loose-leaf commissions)... I didn't handle the load as well as I'd've liked but I say that every year.

This year I was offering cheap 'terrible' badges, and those were well received; I may make them a regular convention thing, just need to give it a little more thought,

All in all, had a good convention. Got a decent amount of sleep except for Sunday night; ate out a little more than intended but that Bombay Gyro place was delicious and affordable (and Halal! Extra yays!) I met another dealer there, who could potentially make a custom D20 necklace for me, but alas, every time I went by their booth before the Den opened and I got busy, they weren't open yet. :c

As per Tradition, certain friends evaporated and I only saw glimpses of them over the course of the weekend; granted, others I think I bonded with a little more. :3

It was determined that between  Nyil & myself we make 1 whole Asian, whom we've dubbed as Bhudda.Photos may follow.

Hm, I guess I could name a few more names, but I'm worried I'll miss some!

 Caltroplay was a great table-mate. I did not succeed in stealing any of her customers; which is understandable, her stuff blows mine out of the water! X3

 missmab was abducted regularly during the course of the convention, but much like Princess Peach I think she was doing it on purpose. : U

 Sererena turned into a fairy one morning, I swear, she was so pretty that day (not that she isn't on other days!). Also, she discussed some really awesome business/merchandise/commission ideas for the future.

 Kelmar hung out and was a cool d00d and was happy I didn't really snore this year.I finally returned his sketchbook.And..now I have it again. MUahahahahahahaaaa ok i need to pass it along to someone.

 sethtriggs did really well this year,I hope he manages to sell the rest of his books and CDs; even if I have to plug them at my table! Like... I will put a pile of them at any further tables I have!

 bouncymischa bought me a canolli and was fun to hang out with; the dessert was a delicious bonus. :9

 Strype has a ton of fans, I mean DUH I know this, but zomg, I think he got rushed every time he got behind the table. Breath-taking!  Cooper was rarely seen but it sounded like she had fun (aside from the terribly painful foot)!

I managed to exchange some words with  Karno... at least I think they were words. I seem to have an armful of his stuff so I guess I wasn't too incoherent! I never thought I'd get a chance to interact with him, so that was awesome! We even did an art-trade! Will share that at some point.

 drakefenwick gave me some inspirational material, as did  Dutch; hopefully something will come of them sooner than later, but wrist and time will tell!

I got a chance to chatter with  J3t(who also gave me some candy!) and gunmouth(who is rocking an awesome goatee) a little,  ebonyleopard shook me for my own good; I did not chat with  gnaw as much as I hoped, and I hope to catch up with  maxblackrabbit and  hbruton more next month.

I'm sure I've missed mentioning a bunch of people but my tiny introvert brain can only process so many people at once I suppose!

All I know is it was a pleasure meeting all of you; thanks everyone who came around to my table; accepted a business card; commissioned me; offered me sustainence or physiotherapy (i will have to see a real doctor at some point tho. x.x;); or even bought some of my merchandise.

Anything else... the weather didn't bug me, the Dealer's Den was a bit on the chilly side and I forgot to bring a hoody, I had a lot of fun making the terrible badges for everyone, aaand did a lot of walking (my left ankle hates me right now). I went to a tea-party & got a kinder surprise bar..oh and there were nifty people there too.<X P

Need to balance my work/socilising a bit better next year I guess; unless I can find a way to bring more of the socialising to me...*ponder*

OK, so for the last few Anthrocons I've been getting a LOT of loose-leaf commissions, and that's fine, I generally have spare paper on hand, and they're certainly not as heavy as sketchbooks.

So for this year, I've decided to try to get some of those done early; if you don't have a sketchbook or simply want to get a commission from me because you know your sketchbooks will be with other artists for an uncertain amount of time, I'm opening up 9 slots ON MONDAY, JUNE 17th.

(Base) PRICES will be $20 single character/extra character +$15(Sketch) and $50 single character/extra character +$30 (inks) , I will prefer a limit of 2 characters, but it really depends what you want the characters doing. Complicated markings,limbs,or costumes/jewels etc can potentially add to the final cost. Backgrounds are negotiable but will also cost extra.

The trip over the border was kind of balls for me and  SethTriggs both ways across... Never had my stuff gone through like that before (except that one time when i was flying internationally when i was about 13 and they thought my water-colour paint tubes were bullets)...actually the year before THAT they thought my recorder-pipe was a rifle part:I WAS THE MOST DANGEROUS TWEEN.
But luckily a gruff delay was the worse of it...I may have been too tired to freak out sufficiently.

Anyway; Furnal...It was a convention!

It was a very very cold convention.That is, the Dealer's Den was very oddly arctic, but the other areas were a good temperature.Might have had something to do with the way the air-pipes are arranged; I dunno.

As previously mentioned, I was sharing my table with  Caltroplay who was an awesome table-mate and owns some really cute outfits.My favourite was the hoody-cat.

 Cooper, Strype,  Sharei and  Furball were in the same island right behind us and they were awesome peeps too.
To the right of me was the Hard Blush booth, headed by a really classy lady who was smashing and generous and also a blast to sit by.

Managed to have brief exchanges of words with  gNaw,  Maxblackrabbit &  StyleWager; you guys are most excellent.

Met some really bodacious new friends, such as  MadTurtle and the crews of  animalanticsapparel &  Critterama;go check their stuff out!

Sales were...steady...though low volume; thanks to everyone who did come by the table though!It was fun to meet you all, and if you purchased Something Stupid from me, let me know! And if you have a photo or scan of it, even better! (I'm trying to compile them all). I will be uploading more convention stuff to my site soon, as well as uploading them to FA shortly after.

I actually got myself some art this year; thank you Caltroplay,MadTurtle and Cooper for your gifts! I loves them all! 8D

Yeah, I'm definitely going to give Furnal another try next year (if I can afford it), and I hope it'll be even more fun and successful than this year. Even...with all the clowns looming on the horizon.<: X

Furfright! It was pretty damned awesome; I haven't had this much fun doing an Artist Alley since..um... never...tho I guess Anthrocon '03 wasn't too bad, but this topped it by a hundred.

Arrived a bit later than planned, woke up way earlier than I'd've liked... and when you stand in the Registration Line for as long as you slept the night before, SOMETHING IS WRONG (a little over 2 hours,but mostly my fault for not pre-registering...or sleeping in the car).

..I'm suddenly realising a good convention for me means being able to sit and work for the duration of the Dealer's Den being open, then going back to my room to work some more, having some food, work some more, and then doing it all again the next day, as well as having access to something i can just grab for breakfast and a banana for brunch,along with plenty of water and an emergency energy drink if needed.

....Well, it was also helped along by having awesome table buddies in the forms of  jerberjer on Friday and  donryu on Saturday, and  Artie popping by to hang even if he never got the sketch I said I'd do for him when i thought I was gunna have no work at all this convention...

Didn't really get to hang out with the people i drove down with very much, tho  sethtriggs and another con-goer did invite me along to Friendly's...which was a really nice restaurant; must turn this into a tradition! Thanks Seth!

If you've read any other con reports about Furfright than you already know what happened on Sunday morning with everyone having to stand around in the parking lot at 4am...That incident contributed to me getting concrud that I had been barely keeping at bay,which meant I worked a lot slower than i liked and ended up with some homework pieces which were half done...as soon as the weather clears up I'll be mailing these pieces to the ppl who want 'em.

So overall, good con, enjoyed the company of the people I interacted with, and I'll work on uploading the pics I did each day, though whether it's all the art I did is dependent on whether I do receive scans of everything. (in retrospect i realise I could've taken pictures of them with my tablet).
In related news: I'm aiming for a dealer's table next year!

I admit to being a bit slack but I should be posting some art soon, including stuff I did for the various conventions I've been to (likely in no particular order).

ANYWAY, to date I am intending to ATTEND Mephit Fur Meet and Midwest Fur Fest, there's one or two more planned but right now I'm derping on the names, so I'll likely do a more accurate journal later. IN THE MEANTIME I better get back to work on all that art I owe. Think I'm finally almost done with the Pre-Anthrocon list, most of them just need to be coloured at this point. Also, I am working on a bonus chapter for "Cut Loose!" ...I'm not sure when the pages I'm doing will show up exactly (sooner than later for paying members,I know that much) but I've been given a deadline to panic over, and oh boy, has the panicking been delicious.: D (Finished laying out most of the pages, still need to finish inking the first few, and make a cover, woo!) Soooooo, I've hit some technical difficulties.

Spent a good chunk of last week and some of the weekend trying to get ONE of my prior commissions coloured.The computer keeps grinding to a crawl and causing some rather distressing tablet-pen lag issues which makes colouring a real adventure in patience and Ctrl-Zing.
Seems this machine isn't accustomed to me or photoshop, espc. if the picture involves more than 1 character.
Sooo...Anyone who is waiting on colour commissions, I apologise that you'll have to wait a bit longer than planned. I should be getting a 'new' computer around the end of the month (courtesy of a friend who has gotten an actual new computer).. until then I'm just trying to get everything sketched/inked.

In other news, I'll likely be opening for at the very least, INK commissions either at the end of the month or the beginning of next month so i can raise money to replace my big scanner...Not sure how many slots yet. Need to further discussions with the Merchantile Overlords about how my commissions will be handled through my online store... So please, don't call 'dibs!' or try to reserve slots because I'm not sure the new process is able to handle that kind of thing... I really need to talk to them more about it first.

In related news, why not check out the store if you've been wanting to get your hands on my CD but couldn't make it to Anthrocon this year or last: there's still some available...and I'm not 100% sure if there's plans to make more at this point.
No direct download version yet, but, again, discussions will be had, and solutions will be worked upon. : )

Main purpose for attending:
To get away from housewife chores and to draw for 12 hours a day if possible.Also, to attempt to sell my meager collection of merchandise and commissions.

Only if I have spare time; I haven't had spare time at a convention in almost a decade...so, no i guess, sorry. ¬.¬;

Occassionally, but only if I'm on the ball with paid art.

Yup...limited number due to my lack of speed and abundance of wrist cramps, however.

Ok, Anthrocon is speeding ever closer and I've yet to be able to afford tickets, so I am opening for ~7 Colour commissions! US$50 per character, two Character MAXIMUM (3rd character NEGOTIABLE depending on the scene/composition).

Y'know, I got a confusion headache just hearing about Jonathan Liebesman in talks to direct the next TMNT (reboot) movie, just based on his previous films,and well, Micheal Bay Producing the thing gave me some anxiety pangs but I can sort of understand why a company would hire him since he's handled Big BlockBuster Movie Adaptions for other 'kids' franchises before...

I mean, I was personally hoping for a sequel to the last movie... but hey, I could dig a 'more adult' reboot (much like how the very very first movie was a bit darker toned than the 80s cartoon)... I'm just not sure how I feel about changing the origin in such a way...but I guess I'll just have to wait and see how this develops.

All I know is I'm exhausted at trying to wrap the change around my frantic little nostalgic brain.
