Maestro's Backstory/Description
Posted 14 years agoAn on going piece of work I started recently. Long way to go before I'm happy with it but for now it'll do. Feel you can add to it or take away useless stuff, lemme know. :3
Maestro is just a ferret, by no means completely ordinary but a ferret none the less. A simple fur colouring; a light brown that goes half way up his calves and the same length from his fingertips along his forearms as well. That same brown encompasses his ears that then forms a band that goes across his face and around his eyes, from there it goes straight up the middle of his head onto the short shaggy mohawk/hair tuft he keeps, this line then goes down too the base of his tail. His tail also has a short length of the same brown at the end. The rest of his body is a cream colour. Some extra details are that he sports red glowing eyes, constricted pupils that in no way hamper his vision and incredibly sharp fangs, teeth and claws.
He can stand out when he needs to, though prefers to stay very much under the radar. Not as a result of these changes, no, that's just the way he has always liked it. A strong introvert preferring very much too keep to himself but ever outgoing among friends this is just the tiniest bit of his personality. He happily goes out of his way too help a friend, strong moral code and a flexible sense of honour. Knows how to form his own opinion about people and generally sticks to his guns once he gets his bearings on some one. Enjoys the little things; a clear night sky, the sometimes overlooked beauty of nature, the uplifting feeling of helping a random stranger, friendly company. Its all good to him.
Enjoys a good many other things too, among those a wide variety of music but holds to being metal head through and through but enjoys jazz to calm down and just let go. Has a terrible sweet tooth for chocolate and slurpees! He can't get enough of the stuff! A mediocre cook at best, hit and miss if you decide to eat his meals, safe bet is to eat out. Much to his annoyance, he's quite the 'night owl' having difficulty falling asleep when others are out cold, often pulls through the night into the next day without sleep, doesn't make him grumpy though...
Despite all the good there are like any person, particular things that irritate to no end. Maestro practices a good deal of restraint around most people and either keeps his mouth shut or eventually lets it burst, if that should happen its usually an explosive outburst, that quiets everyone down. Though as this rarely happens a slight degree of animosity is held to a fair number of people, with good reason. Friends though are usually forgiven for any slights against him, though even that isn't without its limits. Friends are just held in a much higher regard for forgiveness.
There is also the other added aspect to his personality. Maestro tends to loose his inhibitions when a fight presents itself (at least initially). Due in no small part too an incident with a demon, when this happens he loses himself in the fight paying no mind to any wounds inflicted, though he is aware of any hits he feels no pain in this state. He pushes through and is a relentless foe to any he encounters. Quick on his feet, enough so that he can easily find himself on the flanks of slower enemies, unleashing a flurry of attacks with claws and teeth. In some cases latching on and tearing out chunks of flesh. Deadly in most any environment and absolutely voracious in close quarters.

2010 IN REVIEW

2010 is nearly over at least in this part of the country, have already gotten happy new years from some friends visiting family over in Ottawa. Now right now I would be at a small get together with some friends I haven't seen since the summer but some things came up today. So I am sitting here drinking some Disaronno and coke (which by the way tastes like cherry pepsi), while typing out this. This has been a year full of events, not all bad not all good.
We'll start with all the bad events this year and then lead into the good. Here we go.
To be honest I don't know where to start as far as the 'bad' goes but I'll work with the most recent things. Multiple car accidents wont say when suffice it to say my friends know. They happened just as things were leveling out for me and just starting to go good, I had a lot of optimism for the new year. While I still do, my focus is not on that right now but more on the present dealing with whats at hand. I'm fine, physically I'm fine, no injuries. However stuff like that, when it happens it shakes you, emotionally, psychologically, it fucks with you basically. I'm coping with it. It happened, there's no getting around it, I could sit and lay about, mope and cry about it and I did everybody should when something like that initially happens. If you don't, I can only wonder what some people would do let alone what I would have done... So I did for a day maybe part of the evening and you know it would occasionally bubble to the surface for a little for the rest of the week, I DID NOT let it consume me or change my personality. What I did was keep an upbeat and generally positive attitude, hard as it was.
With that little bit there revolving around my car, money always becomes an issue. I'll leave it at that though.
Other things did happen but those are more reserved for private ears and close friends.
Now for the good, its funny though that the bad things seem far more prominent but that just the way things work isn't it. You'll always remember the good things in life but the really bad bits will always leave that permanent mark on you, like a dead pixel on your monitor its there and nothing is going to make it go away short of buying a new monitor and in the case of life you cant always get that brand new monitor.
The good! Moved in to a friends apartment and its been great living out here. Got my own room, in suite washer and dryer, its nice. Friend also has a dog and she is just a doll and a suck for people.
Going back earlier in the year, visited a friend I'd made down in California. Her and her hubby were awesome to finally meet. Went to universal studios, went to some areas of LA they knew about and went to Manhattan beach if I remember right. First time I've ever been in the ocean! I had a blast suffice it too say, with any luck I'll catch them at Rain Furrest in the coming year and who knows maybe even pay them another visit. :)
Speaking of Rain Furrest, second year attending this past September. Drove to it again in my car, one day trip all the way there! Got some badges while I was there, art... In general I had a good time, was sick for a day as unfortunate as that was though. Looking forward too going again this coming year, may or may not fly we'll see.
Also went to a wedding of some friends that I'd made a few years ago in my one year stint at college. It was nice too see them after so long as it had been at least eight some odd months since I'd seen them last.
This past month has also been good (minus the car accident) as I've spent lots of time with friends and family, thinking back on it, its been pretty fantastic. Got some awesome commissions, went out to pubs, giving gifts... Its been nice.
Oh shit! EDIT! EDIT I SAY! Forgot too include a fuck-ton of concerts! :D

I know there are tons of other things that happened but right now, the more I try and think about them the more I forget so I'm going to leave my memories alone for now. I got what i wanted out and in this journal obviously. It is from the moment I'm typing this 56 minutes to midnight, I have now drank quite a bit of my disaronno, might switch over too shooting it or save that for midnight. I am also listening to Grooveshark, started with 'Roses are red' by Aqua turned it to radio mode and I am now on 'Watch Out (Extended mix)' by Alex Gaudino. I think come midnight I'll send out my 'Happy new years' texts as well as call the few special people and wish it to them personally. After that I may go kill some mutants and zombies in killing floor for one round, follow that up with some Metro 2033 then pull an all nighter on either Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age, kinda want too loose myself in another world at the moment.
Also just remembered something just now. While it is very likely just a load of crap, on the radio I heard that people who've been good to their friends and all that in 2010 would have an amazing or at least a very good 2011. If that turns out to be the case 2011 looks like it'll be a good year.

Its been roughly over a year and about two or three months since I've gotten out there to know some of the fuzzies in and around my area and I guess as a whole... To me it seems to have been a lot longer. Simply, it really is hard to believe so little time has passed and so MUCH has happened in my life. Its quite the realization actually.
I've come to know a good deal of people who I actually consider true friends! Some close, some a little ways away and others in different countries! This time two years back I was probably sitting at my PC doing nothing really worth while... Though I still do that now there is little hesitation on making my way out to go meet up with these friends. Some of which I would do anything to help, not saying I wouldn't have done this a couple years back but now I have more people to be this person too. Makes me feel good about myself. :)
Even with friends and the good things in life there are those... Unwanted elements that not only cross you but your friends as well, but this happens regardless of where life takes you. In that regard I feel I've dealt with them accordingly and come out with a greater sense of self-confidence and worth as a result.
All in all this has been one of the greatest times of emotional and mental growth I've ever experienced. Naturally if I could have changed things I would have but this is the way things happen so no point in dwelling to much on them... Taking things as they come and moving on, learning, building on the experience has been good. For sure and certain.
Now a sum of highlights in the past fourteen or fifteen months! :D
First, Rain Furrest 2009. First fur con I ever had the pleasure of going too! I drove over 1300km (800+ miles) to Seattle on an hour and half or sleep! I pulled it off until we were 2 hours out where I had to have a nap. Which I did for an hour, at which point we switched back over and I drove the rest of the distance to the hotel. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the con participated in a scit, got some art and generally made a fool of myself in a most embarrassing way around friends... Good times all around and looking forward to this years! :D
Even while RF was getting prepped for I was still keeping busy with my own hobbies. That hobby happens to be Warhammer 40,000 with my Tyranid army. I am still chipping away at what I have very slowly as I am painting every single one by hand I'm not mass base coating all the units which would be faster. I personally like the feel of committing the time to each one. An expensive hobby for sure, but very calming and rewarding when I finish a unit or massive creature. "The Great Devourer Is Come, Destroyer Of Worlds!" :3
As this is a slightly costly hobby I naturally have a source of income as well... Yay, good paying job! Suffice it to say I do enjoy my job for what it is. I get paid quite well, its secure and has benefits. Also got a decent sized pay raise too even without that though I probably wouldn't have been going for any other job anytime soon.
Though I have to say I wouldn't mind going back too school. Counseling and massage therapy have both caught my eye as possible career paths or something to look into. At the moment though I have a bit much on my plate between bills and such to consider school. Maybe when that's all said and done it'll be up for consideration. Though I am good where I am though so no rush.
Now even though there are those lovely bills, I'm still saving money! As a result I'll be having a lovely vacation to LA in July to go and visit the lovely for a fun four days or so! The reason for this vacation is that some friends of mine are getting married that week and my job for the summer months doesn't give out individual days. You have to book off a whole week. So, I thought 'hey why not, I'll go harass a friend' and this trip came out of that! xD
Even with that though I forgot too mention some of my other travels! In and around my area of the world been to a lovely series of comic and anime cons spent some cash at each and managed to pick up issue NUMBER ONE of Wolverine! :D :D And too boot was only just recently able to demo my partial suit with my new costume I got last minute for a con (the costume have had the partial for a while)! Urban Camo FTW! Much love for my partial has the ability to simultaneously creep people out and suddenly make them go 'ho'shit' I also get the 'aww cute' and 'awesome' too! :3
On the subject of epic purchases on my part! Excellent video game over the past while! Bad Company 2! Have you played this game? No? Why not? This game is nothing short of win! I recommend reading up on it at encyclopedia dramatica... Yeah, yeah not a reputable site in the least but they nailed this game right on for what it is, though they will need to update it what with the patches EA will be releasing soon. Favorite class though for myself right off the get go is Rambo Jesus or the Medic. Next up is the Engineer; Carl Gustav, 'nuff said. Assault class is the most well rounded. Recon; wookie with a shotgun.
Another game to have come out was the Halo: Reach Beta, much love for the Halo series and as this was only the beta I did enjoy it minus a few game things they will obviously fix. Looking forward to the actual game release! This also seems to be the time of beta's as the starcraft 2 beta was also released around the time of Halo: Reach. One thing I can say about SC2 is... Holy shit you'd had better know your macro and hot keys! God Damn! Seriously though another one I'm excited for upon its release! ^-^
Heh, also found some lovely new bands over the course of this time, I wont be able to name the ones that I'm unsure when I found them but... Here are the two most recent band Ive discovered! PIRATE METAL! Don't care if you don't think its a genre, your thoughts on this matter or irrelevant in its presence! And also an A Capella Metal Band as far as I'm concerned these guys have skill! These two band are Alestorm and Van Canto!

Favorite class though for myself right off the get go is Rambo Jesus or the Medic. Next up is the Engineer; Carl Gustav, 'nuff said. Assault class is the most well rounded. Recon; wookie with a shotgun.
Another game to have come out was the Halo: Reach Beta, much love for the Halo series and as this was only the beta I did enjoy it minus a few game things they will obviously fix. Looking forward to the actual game release! This also seems to be the time of beta's as the starcraft 2 beta was also released around the time of Halo: Reach. One thing I can say about SC2 is... Holy shit you'd had better know your macro and hot keys! God Damn! Seriously though another one I'm excited for upon its release! ^-^
Heh, also found some lovely new bands over the course of this time, I wont be able to name the ones that I'm unsure when I found them but... Here are the two most recent band Ive discovered! PIRATE METAL! Don't care if you don't think its a genre, your thoughts on this matter or irrelevant in its presence! And also an A Capella Metal Band as far as I'm concerned these guys have skill! 1. Was 2009 a good year for you?
Without a doubt.
2. What was your favorite moment of the year?
I'm not entirely sure but the most recent that stands out would have to be RF 2009.
3. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Getting my speeding tickets... >.>
4. What are your plans for 2010?
Enjoy the friends I have, go to another con and with any luck maybe move in with some friends... we'll see. ^^

United States, that was it.

Meeting our local community here at whole and certain people within it. :)

Driving for 12 hours on an hour and half of sleep. o.O Nothing else is really coming to mind.

Concert shirts (that I think looked good nothing to vulgar or obscene), a very laid back approach.

Yelling at the tv/monitor as I play games against other players online. Mostly in FPS games. Reading also helped.

Never really paid a whole lot of attention but I'd have to say... Jason Stathem

I just stopped caring this year when all I heard on the news was economy this and that.

Not too many I stayed in contact with most people.

If I did, I didn't know it. Or if I did I made my best attempts to make amends.

I don't dwell so if someone did I brushed it off and moved on with my life.
