My sabertooth has been my primary sona for nearly a decade. He's how I interact with the community and is of course my most beloved character.

Lately however I've had a feeling of dissatisfaction however. It never bothered me before but now he feels bland and uninteresting and while I could never give him up as a character I've been considering retiring him as my primary fursona and creating a character that reflects myself more physically and less what I wish I was.

Obviously the entire furry thing is a pipe dream and I'm not indicating I want to get some radical rl surgery to be more furry or something, but I mean a character who is tall and has weight problems, like myself, versus Myth who originally was short and fit.

I'm curious if others have experienced this same feeling when they've had a character for a long time that is their primary face in the fandom and might have some advice.

(For the record I've attempted to change Myth to reflect myself more IRL and I hated it, so it's not an option)

Myth, Radiant or Roya first?

I'm really irritated right now.

Having been in the community for a long time, I'm really getting sick of watching little known or unfamiliar artists get chased out of the community because of popularity contests.

This community has the most fucked up value system I've ever seen. We'll embrace the most fucked up stuff and give people golden tickets to walk all over the community like we're a foot fetish hangout, but someone makes a poor decision when they first join, thinking they'll do something cool and neat and it doesn't work out and they get chased out of the community like we're the Puritans during the Salem Witch Hunts and we're going to burn them alive.

In fact, it's very much the same, no one stands up for these people. Is this how we work? Mob mentality? Let everyone in as long as they're screaming and shouting at the same things we are, but the moment they fuck up, we toss them outside the gate again to the zombie hordes and those of us who should stand up just look down at the ground and shuffle our feet in guilt for a few minutes, shrug and move on?
