Off to Houston for a week
Posted 11 years agoI just wanted to let people know (in particular, artists who I am waiting for commissions on), that I will be away from
Sunday (8/3) through Saturday (8/9), for a business trip to Houston, TX.
While the hotel will have WiFi, I don't know how much free time I'll have to hop online (definitely not during the day,
while I'm at the client's place of business), so if you contact me with any questions, or finish up a commission
I have with you, I may not be able to reply too quickly.

For the Writers - Writers FM
Posted 11 years agoJust browsing around online, I came across an online radio stream called Writers FM: Radio by writers, for writers.
From what I can tell, they broadcast mostly interviews with writers from all genre of writing (though I suspect there hasn't been any furry authors yet). ;)
I have no idea yet as to how useful this might be for writers to find their muse or help them in other ways, but I thought some of the writers out there might find it useful.
They also have a Forums page, where writers discuss different aspects of writing, as well as review each other's writing. (I only hope that the grammar and spelling on a writer's forum is better than what you'll find on most forums. *laughs*)
Especially on places such as FA, it seems somewhat easier for artists to find other artists to discuss art with, so it's nice to see a resource out there that's for writers. Perhaps something like this will one day be put together for the furry writers around here, so they can find others who love writing about furry themes, and wish to talk about it.
EDIT:
And while browsing through the forums, I came across a link to a post that many aspiring writers might find helpful:

Big surprise for the 3rd Hobbit movie - there are 2 Smaugs
Posted 12 years agoIn the new Hobbit, movie, The Desolation of Smaug, we discover Smaug in all his glory, as a wyvern.
Now personally, I love he look of wyverns, and thought that in this movie, he looked amazing.
Wyverns have been clearly defined since the middle ages, as winged serpents with 2 hind legs, while dragons have 4 legs, plus wings. In the book, Tolkien states that Smaug is one of the last great dragons to come out of the north. I am pretty confident that Tolkien knew the difference between a dragon and a wyvern, and his own artwork portrays Smaug as a dragon:
http://www.hobbit.ca/Smaug-Tolkien2.jpg
Okay, so perhaps Peter Jackson simply decided to interpret Smaug as a wyvern for his movies. This would be all well and good, if not for one minor problem. In the theatrical release of the first Hobbit movie, An Unexpected Journey, we see Smaug's front legs grabbing hold of the gates of Erebor, before making his way inside and stomping on fleeing dwarves, once again, with his front legs.
So, if a 4-legged Smaug stormed into and took over Erebor, then who is this wyvern in the second movie? The answer is simple. There are two Smaugs in the mountain.
Now how cool of a twist would that be, for everyone to think Smaug had left the mountain, only to discover that the real Smaug was still inside?
After all, if you're going to add in the Orcs hunting after the dwarves, why not toss in a wyvern as well, just for the fun of it?

Going to MFF and beyond...
Posted 12 years agoJust posting a quick note that tomorrow (Thursday, 21st), I'm heading off to Midwest Furfest.
I will be there until Sunday, at which time I will be continuing to vacation around the area for a few more days.
I will have my laptop with me, but access will be limited to mornings and nights. So, if you are an artist doing a commission for me and need any information, please be aware that I may not be able to reply too quickly.

Ringtail Cafe is starting a furry convention in Cincinnati
Posted 12 years agoHey everyone,
Just helping to spread the word that
Ringtail_Cafe is looking to give it a shot at a furry convention in Cincinnati, OH, this October, and are looking for some people wanting to help them out.
For all the information, check out their journal, here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4856031/
Unfortunately, with it being 7 hours away for me, and already planning on MFM and MFF this year, I can't do any more conventions right now.

New FA Artist in need of some commissioners
Posted 12 years ago
TwistedTeeth is a relatively new FA artist who does some really nice work. He's currently trying to raise some money for school, and is looking for people to commission him. His journal on this can be found here:
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4690644/
I already have a couple in his queue and unfortunately, due to car repair bills here, I'm unable to get more or donate. But, check him out and if you can, help out with a commission of your own. <3
Helping out a fur in Moore, Oklahoma
Posted 12 years agoI had just learned from someone else's journal, that a fellow fur,
Misora, lives in Moore, Oklahoma and lost her home due to the recent, deadly tornado.
Some artists have joined together to take emergency commissions, in order to send the proceeds to Misora to help out her and her family.
If you are in any way able to help out, please head on over to the following journal for more information:

Posted 12 years agoI'm pimping this for my friend

Heading off to FWA in the morning
Posted 12 years agoYep. Just wanted to leave a journal that I'll be heading to FWA tomorrow morning, and coming back on Sunday night.
So, while I'll be able to check in here in the mornings and nights, I'll basically be out of touch.
If you're an artist who is doing a commission for me, please excuse any delays in my replying to any communications.
*Packs up his camera and gets ready for the fun.*

Firr has done all the hard work of explaining this for everyone, so check out his journal about it:http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4384610/
It would be nice if FA added this information to their Knowledgebase page, so everyone could have easy access to it.
Updated Furry Convention Photo Gallery
Posted 13 years agoFor those of you interested in Fursuit pics from conventions, but who don't watch my
rats-eye-view page,
I have just finished updating my "Furry Convention Photo Gallery" with pictures from this year's (2012) Morphicon and Mephit Furmeet.
And of course, as always, if you find a picture of yourself in the gallery, feel free to use/post it however you may wish. <3
I'm still sorting through the Midwest Furfest pictures from last month, so nothing from there up yet.

Away to Midwest Furfest for a week
Posted 13 years agoYep. Another one of those "I'm going to MFF" journals. :)
Leaving tomorrow morning, and I'll be back on Wednesday, the 21st.
I'll have my laptop with me, but due to being busy, I'll only be checking online in the mornings and nights. So, if any artists finish a commission I have with them, don't be alarmed if I don't reply to it all that quickly.

NOTICE: New Account for Furry Con Photos
Posted 13 years agoHey Everyone,
I have created a new account for the fursuit pictures I post up from Furry Conventions.
rats-eye-view
If you are watching me for my furry con / fursuit pictures, please watch that account instead.
I will not be posting Fursuit pictures to this account any longer, unless it somehow has a vorish theme. :)
I'm doing this for 2 reasons:
1) To separate the fursuit photos from the vore/gore/snuff and other questionable commissioned artwork I post on this account.
2) Since FA has yet to implement Folders, this is the only way for me to keep my photography separated from my commissioned artwork.
NOTE: I have moved the originals that were posted on this account to my Scraps folder, and reposted them as new submissions on my new account.
This way, any existing comments and Fav's are not lost.

HELP: Competitors needed for Vore Vie story tournament...
Posted 13 years agoHey all of you predators.
NegativeTheory is going to write a vore tournament story and needs more competitors.
He's looking for a total of 72 participants and is currently at 59.
There are also slots for prey who will not be part of the tournament, but still part of the action. :D
Please be aware that he is doing all of the writing and will determine the results in a random manner. No voting. No favoritism. No work on your part, other than to provide the initial information on your character.
Find out all the details and sign up, over here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8568366/
And you can see an example of Theory's writing skills on his 'orientation' entry for this tournament: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8689398/
So, come on... I know there are 13 more of you out there willing to join in and enjoy being part of a free story that will simply be a lot of fun for everyone. Unless of course, your predatory ego is too big to share in an entertaining endeavor. ;)
Oh. And I forgot to mention... *** The Winner also gets some free art ***

How they landed Curiosity on Mars [video]
Posted 13 years agoIf you're tired of the journals people have posted about the landing of Curiosity on Mars, then this journal isn't for you.
For those of you who recognize and marvel at our expanding of exploration and knowledge of the universe around us, enjoy.
NASA put together this wonderful video to describe how they landed Curiosity onto Mars, making it clear at how easily it could have gone wrong. To date, only 30% of attempts to land a probe on Mars have succeeded, and every time a new technique is used for the first time, we should celebrate such an achievement.
And here's another version, which instead includes the play-by-play reactions of the people at mission control during each of the critical moments:
Plus a really cool picture of Curiosity descending toward Mars, as taken from the Mars Reconnaissance orbiter.
An orbiting satellite taking a picture of a descending vehicle, all happening on another world.
http://www.zimbio.com/Mars/articles.....nding+Orbiting
It's moments like this that remind us that reality still holds some wonder and fascination, as well as hope for a future contained only within our imaginations.

View from the Intl. Space Station - Watch This Video
Posted 13 years agoAn awesome video of still images taken from the ISS, arranged into a stop-motion animation and put to music.
I highly recommend full-screen and with the sound on.
Be sure to change the quality to a higher resolution if your processor can handle it.
Enjoy.

An 'A Capella' Heavy Metal band? Van Canto
Posted 13 years agoOkay, this caught me totally by surprise. At first, I was like WTF?, but after listening to several of their songs, I just can't stop listening.
5 vocalists, 1 drummer, and a heck of a lot of fun to listen to. :)
A German group by the name of Van Canto. They've been around for 6 years, and I'm just hearing of them for the first time. I need to get out more. ;)

Helping other furries - FALendAHand
Posted 13 years agoIf you haven't heard of them,
FALendAHand is a group here on FA that is trying to help out furries in need by advertising their respective journals.
They only promote people with real needs, such as paying medical bills or buying food. They do not advertise people simply looking to buy a new laptop or latest game.
So, head on over and give them a watch. If you can help out anyone they list who is in need, that's even better. Most of those listed are also artists and willing to do commissions, not just take donations. Getting some art while helping out someone in need, is always a nice way to start your day. ;)

Some wonderful stories I've commissioned lately
Posted 13 years ago*squeaks and smiles*
Hey everyone. I just wanted to direct your attention to a number of stories I've received over the past 2 months, hoping that you'll enjoy them as much as I have. :)
All of these are wonderful stories by fantastic writers. Please be sure to read their other works, as well as commission them for your own. <3
MitchKenzo - Medieval Irony (Hard Vore / Snuff / Gore)
Being a thieving rat in medieval times probably wasn't the best way to make a living, as Rodent was soon to learn after he had been caught and sentenced to death.
This one was actually a gift that was given to me, back when I was just moving from Wisconsin to Tennessee, and somehow missed that it was posted.
An awesome story that wonderfully captures the fun and interesting ways in which a criminal was dealt with after being caught, back in the days when methods of torture and execution were interesting and fun. :)
LukeSnowcat - AVMC Chapter 5: Cat's Cream (cock vore / Adult Content)
Chapter 5 of Luke's Christmas Story involved Tannis and Zander having a little fun of their own at the Christmas party, with Tannis giving a gift he never expected to when first arriving.
This was a wonderful, 6-chapter story that I was delighted to be a part of. Please be sure to check out the entire story-line, starting with the intro/prolog: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7090696/
Scratchel - Rodent and the Shaman (transformation/vore)
Rodent is drawn to a remote hut, on a quest to discover his true, inner form. Unfortunately for him, the reptilian shaman has some plans of her own.
I always love the way Scratch takes an idea of mine and turns it into such delightful and fun shorts, giving them so much character and personality, as well as hitting so many fun themes that make them a joy to read.
Xinnova2 - A Life Leeched Away (vore / Adult Content)
A youthful Tannis is convinced by a friend to confront a mysterious bog leech, in order to impress the girl he wishes to mate.
A wonderful story that beautifully hits on primal emotions that often drive us to do things to others, purely for the benefit to ourselves. :)
Xinnova is currently open for story commissions at very low prices. If you're looking for a story that can be more than just vore, send him a Note. He's very open and friendly to work with.

TrustedArtists group - check it out
Posted 14 years agoHey everyone,
I just learned of the
trustedartists group here on FA and believing that it's a wonderful idea, I though I would help pimp them out.
Being someone who loves to find new artists to commission, it is always nice to see when one might have passed the test of commissioners and determined as being reliable and trustworthy.
While I have no complaints about the artists I have commissioned in the past, they have almost always been people I had been watching for a while and got to know a bit before commissioning them. But when picking a new artist to try out of the blue, having a bit of assurance that others have had a good experience with them is always nice.

50,000 pageviews (screen cap captured)
Posted 14 years agoIt might be too late, but as of the moment of writing this out, I'm almost at 50,000 pageviews. Wow.
If someone is lucky enough to capture that magic number, I'll include them in a vore commission with their character and any one of mine, with the theme of their own choosing. :)
Just show me the screen cap of that 50,000. <3
Congratulations to
Xanaomin for capturing the moment. <3
