So as none of you know. I very rarely dream these days... but when I do they are weird and make no sense but oddly I enjoy them anyways. So for your random perusal cause I'm bored... here is last nights dream. (Before anyone asks, the suit was purple)

It started in this classroom... but not like one on earth. It was clearly on alien planet thanks to the airlocks and metal and all that stuff. My friends and I in the class, after class, decided to go do some exploring on this alien planet. So cue changing into skintight spacesuits... I also have to say we were like 17ish? Anyways, we were exploring this alien forest thing when a bunch of bad guys showed up, they ended up taking my friends while I had to go back to the classroom to get something they wanted. This is where it took a strange strange turn. I went back to the classroom, searched everywhere... and then went into the boys airlock (apparently they were seperated.) At which point one of the suit that hadn't been assigned... attacked me.... like mmmmm, venom from spiderman. Anyways, I somehow managed to slam the airlock door in it's face... at which point I was desperately worried about my friends.... then the bad guys showed up. All my friends were okay, I pointed towards the other airlock... and they ended up just taking me and the suit with them. Then it went blank for a while... and then I was back on the planet with the new 'suit' on and a weapon... then it turned into some weird FPS thing where I was basically whupping everyone's ass and I think it's cause the suit was like some super powered thing that interfaced with me directly, then I got woken up. Like I said, weird like most of my dreams.'

So out of fascination, who here plays Wildstar? Any actual groups?

So after getting a 7 day beta invite (7 days? That's a bit odd) I decided to buckle down and install it.

Booted Game
Video starts... and can't skip it... okay... greying hair man talking about Alpha... how alpha turns into beta (really?) and how closed beta comes before open beta (Good information to know) 6 minutes later... I should check out the forums for information... and the website for stuff too (Good to know, never would have figure it out)

Finally get into game and make my character, I pick the top server on the list and in I am.
Thrown into the world... no tutorial... no information... nothing... just welcome to the game have fun
So after venturing to an area where I've decided I want to set up camp and not having any idea how to. I try to alt-tab out -> game keeps focus -> switch to windowed mode -> game keeps focus -> close game, check on youtube and the wiki and find out that I need to craft stuff at the starting area -> log back INTO game -> use teleport item to crafting area.
First thing I want to craft, a claim flag to get territory. Needs wood, metal and some rare versions.
I go to find a tree... and spend the next 30 minutes holding down my left mouse button and reading a book to harvest the tree. When the tree is dead I move 2 inches and do the same.
Get the 10 rare wood I need so it's on to metals. Need 10 copper ingots.. that's 1,000 copper ore (Wtf?) and 10 rare copper
So once again... 30 minutes of standing in place (this time for 2 minutes at a time!) and I'm a quarter of the way there... but hey I've gotten a chapter or three done in my book.
Decide I'd rather just read my book -> quit game -> uninstall -> might come back when it's not a massive grindfest with absolutely nothing to do but hold down your mouse button

Lazy Lazy Console Port. Controls are incomprehensible. The buttons are all 360 control buttons so the tutorial waits until you figure out that [LB] is tab. Enter goes back in menus (WTF?) and the only way to check keybindings is to exit out and use a seperate config utility. Lazy Lazy Lazy port with no mouse control in the menus. I'd post about the game itself but I can't figure out what key corresponds to Y on my keyboard :D

So a ton of hub-bub has been going on around here about Paypal and banning accounts and such.

First:

OH NOES, PAYPAL IS FREEZING MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE I DRAW PORN. HOW DARE THEY

Everyone who signs up for Paypal accepts their Terms of Service. Part of this term of service is that Paypal is not to be used for any adult activities. This includes, commissions, sites, stores, auctions, etc etc etc. By accepting this contract you have told paypal that you won't be using it for those activities. After this using paypal to conduct said activities is a breach of the contract you agreed to.. and they are 100% within their right to freeze your account.

PAYPAL IS STILL EVIL, LETS DO THIS TO BYPASS THEM.

So you decided that breaching a contract is still for you and you don't want to let paypal know. Stealth is the right way to go correct?
WRONG... guess what. Paypal might not just freeze your account. They might just delete it and take all your money. You could try and sue them for it.. you'll get to court. Paypal will trot out the contract you accepted saying that you agreed not to do it and the judge laughs you out of court. Yes, laughs for you will be a moron.

PAYPAL IS MAKING THIS GROUP REFUND ALL DONATIONS AND KEEPING THE FEES. HOW DARE THEY!

Once again, terms of service lovelies and this one is even worse. Parading yourself around taking donations and pretending to be a non-profit is a CRIME. There are very strict rules and guidelines you need to follow to ensure you are either a charity or a non-profit or both. These rules are put in place to prevent people from scamming YOU out of your hard earned money. Paypal is following the law and their terms of service. The fees they are keeping are a small price to pay for not having your account locked for trying to defraud them (Yes it is fraud. Anything you lie to someone or something for your own or someone elses financial gain is fraud.) IF you don't like it.. go change it. Go start a petition, get the government to change the laws regarding non-profits and charities. Just don't complain when companies like GE and AIG get tax-exempt status because you wanted Paypal to bow to your every whim.
