As for the second part of this journal, I've allllways wanted to go to a fur con, but none of them were a convenient distance from New Orleans. The closest was Emerald's Fur Summit in Pensacola, but a 3+ hour drive to what's a relatively tiny con that I didn't have friends to meet up at realllly didn't appeal to me. Buuut come 2020, that's changing with New Orleans finally getting its first fur con: Bayou Furry Bash! I'd love it if information about this con was spread a bit more since I know every con's first year tends to be a bit sparsely populated, and I'm absolutely ecstatic to actually see fellow furry folks there!

Another life update
Posted 6 years agoWell I’m back from that vacation and hoo man do I feel good! Sure there’s all that other stuff from the previous journal that’s a bit lame and worrying, but my mood overall? Couldn’t be better.
Currently I’m out of that melancholy funk and am feeling energized and artsy, so look forward to more bandana busts and commission work in the very near future! Thank ya’ll again for the support and well wishes- it means so incredibly much

Life Update
Posted 6 years agoSo, I've been relatively quiet over here. A metric crap load of stuff's been happening, both good and bad, and I feel like it's only fair I update ya'll.
Firstly, the bad:
-I've had a bit of bad luck when it's come to school in that I lost a very important scholarship, and if my appeal doesn't go through, I'll be in need of $4000 suddenly so that' been worrying me sick.
-I recently cut ties with someone very close to me due to the friendship souring and it's left me feeling rather melancholy for the past week or so, but I know in the end it'll be good for the both of us.
-An internship I applied for along with countless job applications were all denied, leaving me without a consistent source of income this summer
So that's all pretty darn lame, but I'm trying to stay positive. On the good side of things:
-I've come across a few petsitting jobs that pay decently well
-It's looking more and more likely that come next school year, I'll be able to move into an apartment with my furry friend, so art and stuff will still be 100% doable.
-The family's going on a short little 3 day vacation starting Wednesday so I think the little break will do nicely for me.
Overall, it's just been a constant stream of input happening and it's left me feeling rather frazzled and emotionally confused. It's killed my drive a bit for art, but I'm hoping this vacation helps fix some things and raises my spirits!
Thank ya'll for being patient and supportive of me, I really do appreciate it <33

Posted 6 years agoHeya ya'll! Been a while since I've made a journal post. I just wanted to give everyone a bit of an update on how comms are gonna be working out for me in the future, and what I've decided to do with those Patreon plans I discussed in my previous journal a few months ago.
For Commissions: I will be taking much smaller batches from now on. Taking batches that were 5-10 slots in size was simply too much for me, and it's only lead to my drive getting burned out rather quickly, guilt mounting as I don't get comms done in a timely manner, and inconvenience for both the people who are waiting for their commission and for potential other interested commissioners when it takes me months to wrap up a batch. SO from now on, I'll be only doing one or two slots at a time to hopefully keep drive up, keep turnaround time low, and hopefully be more productive with my art. ^^
For Patreon: I've already heard about the latest batch of drama regarding it and I've already set up an account in order to be grandfathered into the old plan. That being said, I will NOT be opening my Patreon likely till summer. School this quarter is gonna prove especially hectic what with me taking 5 classes and three of them being labs, I'm going to be BUSY and adding in a strict Patreon upload schedule would just further stress me out. Come summer, all I'll have is a potential internship or casual summer job at most so committing to a Patreon then would be much more feasible and productive.

Monthly Gaggings and potential Patreon(?)
Posted 7 years agoHeya folks! I have a rather important question that I'd love to ask ya'll about and gauge interest on since a lot of you seem to really dig the gag sequence concept that I do a lot of.
I've had this idea floating around in my head for a while now that could potentially help keep me motivated and consistent with art, and could maybe even lead to me even having my own Patreon if things go well enough.
What I had in mind is a "Gag of the Month" sort of deal, where a character is offered at the beginning of the month to you lovely folks, and for each day of the month, a poll is set up with various gagging options to determine what layer should come next in said character's gagging by popular vote! It'd result in 30 layer gaggings by the end of the month, with months involving 31 days using the extra day to sorta take a breather.
Now I REALLY want ya'll to tell me what you think of this concept below, cause if people like it and a trial run here on FA works out, I'm very curious to see if it can be applied to Patreon. The loose concept I have for Patreon (if this works out) is that folks in the $1 tier can vote on the layerings each day and see each layer as it's uploaded each day, while folks in the $2-$3 tier could get those perks, as well as offering a character at the start of every month to be randomly selected for the month's gagging!
FA folks who don't subscribe to Patreon would see these monthly gaggings at their conclusion on the 30th-31st of each month still, just not the individual busts that are uploaded each day on Patreon and the above mentioned Patreon perks.
Please lemme know if this idea interest you guys, and if you'd be interested in seeing me experiment with it this January! (I'd start with a free version on FA first so no worries about Patreon yet) And for my commissioners, please note this will NOT affect you! Your art's still being worked on all the same!

Should I make tutorials for how to draw bandanas?

Posted 7 years agoWelp, as a followup to that last slightly depressing journal, turns out my old roommate- in his attempt to screw me over -may have just inadvertently given me the perfect new roommate.
Now I’m not TOTALLY certain since the schoolyear’s just started, but according to my current roommate, he said he’s very rarely going to actually be in the dorm. He said he might spend the night every now and then when he has to be up early for one of his morning classes, but otherwise he’ll be out of the dorm and spending nights with his girlfriend 95% of the time. What this means if he’s right about his lack of being in the dorm, is that I’ll have more freedom then ever to stream and work on comms!
I’m still a touch wary cause, like I said, the schoolyear’s just started and I dunno if his classes are gonna result in him spending the night more often then he thinks, but so far things are looking really good again for my chances at arting. 'w'
EDIT: Also apologies for those who’ve been messaging me on my IM haunts or noting me; a huge expansion dropped for D2 and it’s my favorite game AND college just started so I’ve been a touch distracted. ^^;

Commission Limbo (important)
Posted 7 years agoHeya folks. So, I'm back up at college which is good because I have better internet, meaning streaming becomes a possibility again. The problem however though, is that my former friend and now former roommate whom I was supposed to be rooming with again this year, decided to pull some shady shit and switched rooms during the summer without telling me simply because he didn't want to room with me again, and used a very blatantly obvious lie of "Oh I forgot to tell you :(" which has left me roomed with a total stranger.
Now my old roommate and I butted heads a little bit, but not to an extreme degree, and he was a SFW furry who was more then fine with what I drew. Sadly, this means that drawing NSFW in my current dorm with a roommate who's more then likely not a fur is gonna be hard, if not impossible. There's hope that he's the type to just never be in the dorm (given how I've been up here for about 5 hours and he's only been around 20 minutes of that time at most) but regardless, unless there's some way that I can hide my screen, the fate of furry commissions in general is looking to be in Limbo.

Posted 7 years agoIt's kinda surreal honestly that my birthday's tomorrow. I still can't believe I'm gonna be 20 like, that just sounds so uncanny and bizarre to me?? Might be a bit weird to hear me say that considering I'm a baby compared to most of ya'll on here, but damn I feel fuckin' OLD. I prolly won't be doing anything too special for the day other then just lazing about and working on more commission stuff, but I figured I'd make a little post about it for the hell of it in case anyone cares about the new Official Adult™ on the block.

Mannn did I miss being active on here. If ya haven’t been keeping up with my Twitter, the abridged version of the trip is essentially it was fun, lots of cool sights were seen, lots of awesome food was eaten, and I loathe the fact that air conditioning is essentially a myth over there. I had fun, though I’ve been terribly homesick and itching to draw like hell so you can bet I’ll be cranking out as much art as I can in the coming days and weeks. Glad to be back home and I’m sure as hell happy to be amongst such a rad community again y’all are all the best

Posted 7 years agoSOOOO it turns out my home internet is just really REALLY not stable enough for streaming. 'o' Unfortunately this means artwork will have to be done mostly off stream until I return to college in September. Now for a few of my commissioners who specifically want me to stream their work, I can arrange 1 on 1 streams through Join.Me that shouldn't put nearly as much of a strain on my internet, but big Picarto streams? They're kinda no possible in my current state. Sorry guys ;v;

Posted 7 years agoSchool's in its home stretch with finals week coming right up. Because of this, I'll likely be VERY inactive come next week until Friday evening when I head home. When I get home however, I'll be focusing on commissions entirely and hopefully should start producing results for ya'll. The internet back home isn't nearly as nice and stable as it is up here at college, so streaming miiiiight not be a possibility, but we'll see. I really appreciate the patience, and I wanna apologize again for school keeping me so busy and away from art. ;v;

I’ve been getting too many random people looking me up on there and trying to strike up conversation with me, but it’s awkward and unwanted because Telegram is something I use to chat with friends- not random people. It’s on my front page for a reason folks: “Just please don't ask for my skype/telegram/discord straight away, I only give those out to friends.”
