If I still owe you art PLEASE get in touch with me as I am eager to finish any pieces.
It breaks my heart to leave anyone in limbo as that was never my intention.
Life happened (typical artist journal I know)
I went to film school and earned a degree for Makeup Art (go me!) I set a goal and I earned the shit out of it.
Later that year my mother was killed in a car accident August 2016.
Without getting too personal, I miss her every day and if it wasn't for my family I don't know how I would have pulled through it.
Now that you are aware of why Furry art took a backseat, I am now mentally ready to create some crazy art.
I have built my own computer and have the best software at my disposal. I also have official training under my belt so my technique has improved significantly (potential price increase, but we will play that by ear)
I will not be offering refunds for pieces over a year due as I would like to get them done. You can change your mind on what you'd like even if I have started it already.

*party*In all seriousness, It was a long absence, I barely ever visited FA so I promise I was not ignoring anyone. I love you all too damn much.
Here is a little personal window into my life.
My little family and I have moved to a whole new province (Alberta to BC)
I've been accepted to film school for makeup!
I am the proud mama to a new baby boy born in August so a full time mom to two gorgeous boys (3 months and 5yrs <3)
To be even more honest, I lost the passion for art.
It became a chore, a job and that is the last thing I want for you, my loving customers.
I'd rather take a 6 month, year, two year hiatus instead of pushing out low quality art just to get people off the list. I'm not that kind of artist and I can only hope you all understand.
Part of what got me back into art might seem silly, but it's a little iPod/iPad/iPhone app called French Girls (I HIGHLY recommend it). People take selfies and get them drawn. 3000+ followers later and I was having fun drawing again. I got a ton of practice too, playing with different styles and stretching my creativity. Silly or not, I'm very thankful to the app and the community behind it.

I now have a FULL TIME JOB as the MANAGER of an adult toy store. I love the job so much but have almost no time for anything. The things I do make time for is my son and my cosplay. So some things need to change.
I find myself on this site less and less, it was long overdue for an update.
Here is my life right now.
BE A MOM. BE A WIFE. GO TO WORK. MAKE COSPLAYS. ATTEND COSPLAY EVENTS. MAKE ART(drawing, painting, photography). Maybe if I'm lucky, sleep.
I am in desperate need of shortening my to-do list and unfortunately, FA will be the one getting cut. As much as I love most of you, the chore outweighs the enjoyment right now. And I reeeeeeally don't want to turn furry art into a chore. I want to love what I do and put all my love into your drawings.

Posted 12 years agoI am in desperate need of fur in the color of my fursona, a lavender purple and a lime green, soft and long. Apparently my colors are unheard of in my local fabric stores and I want to make Binx sooooo badly. If anyone knows of artists willing to trade or sell their fur, point me in their direction!

Posted 12 years agoThere was a man named Roger Smith. He made my mom fall in love with him after she thought all hope of love was lost. They got married in 2011 and he was her whole world, and she was his.
Saturday, May 4th 2013, Roger Smith died due to complications of a heart attack and heart surgery. He was the closest thing to a father I've ever had. I am still numb from this, not believing what is going on right now. He supported my dreams and helped me believe I was worth something. My biological father doesn't give two shits about his kids. I can't stop sobbing.
That being said, I am leaving to go to British Columbia first thing in the morning to be with my mom, sister and his whole family. I will be taking a long break from the community and art, but that doesn't mean I don't want your love and best wishes, if anything I need it most right now. To those who have commissions waiting on me, I trust you'll understand the hiatus and send my family and I your hugs.
To those of you who know my mate personally (or semi-personally), don't let him be alone. I have to be with my mom right now, and due to work he can't come with me. Please, harass him with messages on here and on Facebook, I am Caitlin Carmichael, and he is Andrew Carmichael. We love you all.
Do you know why I can't post this to Facebook? The "family" I have would say things like "he was a dick anyway, he deserved it." It's saying a lot that I put more trust and love in my furry family than in my own biological family.
Enough is enough, I'm off to pack. I so look forward to reading everything everyone has to say.

Posted 12 years agoI am beyond stressed right now...along with depression creeping back and forth, being a stay at home mum with cabin fever, now let's throw on our bills piling up and threatening to be cut off...it's one of those days I'm pulling out my hair and begging to catch a break. I hate this...I just want to catch a break.
