Summaries 2020-2024
Posted 9 months agoSince I am back! I thought about bringing back my summaries as well, starting with archiving 2020 where I stopped doing these. I thought I wouldn’t be able to share anything during all these years, but I was sooo wrong.
I also love being able to quickly look back on all the years to keep my thoughts organized and keep sort of a journal. I feel it really helps me to reflect back. I won’t be able to exactly write everything from all those years ago, but I at least can tell something short about that year and show some highlights.
Next to the summaries I will see what else I haven’t shared yet from those years and hope to be back on track soon. Then I can focus on sharing new things and focus on the now and my plans for the future ^_^ Looking forward to share this creative journey with you all <3
Here’s the summary for 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023
The others will be shared soon as well! Ah it feels so good to write in this format again! No more limits and archiving my stuff :D
Thank you all for still being here and excited to be back <3

I’m BACK! ^___^
Posted 9 months agoSoooo It’s been a while since I have posted something! My life as a mom has been a super busy one, my oldest is 6 now and my youngest 4. Buut I miss this place. So I am gonna try to be more active here again, starting with posting some work of mine :D
Anywaysss How are you all!? What did I miss?
Anywaysss How are you all!? What did I miss?
Please help me out with a name <3
Posted a year agoSo in short I have an idea to create a magical forest where small elephants live together with their friends. They all take part and take care for this world in their own way. It features cute daily life scenes and focus on the scenery around them. They’re surrounded with all kind of magical and non-magical creatures such as fairies, dragons, frogs, insects and other little beasties. Different environments will be featured, so next to flower, forest scenes there will also be places with water and caves.

And if you like to support me while working on this project, be sure to check out my memberships on October 1st! Currently it’s the old format, but I will be updating it soon.

I am active on KO-FI & BSKY
Posted a year agoHeyyall!
I just wanted to let you all know that I am more active on other platforms. I still check my FA now and then, but for updates about me and the content I create it’s best to check out my KO-FI and BSKY! I already find it hard to keep everyone updated online, since my life as a mom, volunteer school shopkeeper and seamstress is a very busy one. But I try to at least keep everyone updated on those platforms :) So if you like my work or just want to keep in touch with me, please follow me here:
My KO-FI: https://ko-fi.com/sweetsushi
My BSKY: https://bsky.app/profile/sweetsushi.bsky.social
Looking forward to see you all there and share my content and personal stuff with you all <3
And any support is very appreciated! Please help a furry mom out ^__^ A follow, a message, a share, purchase or one time donation on my ko-fi or maybe a membership? I make cute things for my members <3
PS I am not on Twitter anymore, I left that place last year. I should probably post an official tweet about it on there, but idk who reads that anyway :P hahaha

November & December 2023 Update!
Posted 2 years agoLast update for 2023 is here! I know we are already in the new year, but before I dive into my plans for 2024 I want to properly end 2023 with a last update :) It’s been in my mind for a while O_O
Let’s start with a health update again. So 2023 obviously hasn't been great for me healthwise. In my last update I’ve shared I had developed a TMJ disorder. I am still in treatment for this. But then later in November just when I finally was working on my onesie work I got heavy pain attacks in my stomach. It turned out I had a stomach ulcer, if everything wasn’t bad enough already. This has also been the reason I haven't been updating much. So after a couple of visits (because the attacks kept coming back) and taking medicines and lab research still not much progress. Then earlier this week I got another heavy pain attack and the doctor said I need to get a gastroscopy. This pretty much means they will put a tube in my mouth and do research in my stomach. I will go to the hospital today and hopefully they can give me some answers. For now I just continue the medicines, which will protect my stomach and it helps a bit :) I try to stay positive, but everything together makes it a bit too much for me atm. Luckily my clients are very supportive and patient with me. But it still feels very stressful.
I was looking forward to working on the onesie for Kaida, which I did some work for until I got ill again. This gave me a lot of stress, because I was finally able to work on it and then just another thing happened to me >_< I did finish some splatoon work, but not much either. I try to take little steps and take it easy, but it’s hard not thinking about all the delays.
Other than my sewing projects I also had responsibility at school. Me and 2 other moms were organizing an adventmarkt on school. This was quite some work as well, but it was a great success and everyone enjoyed it. I like to share more about this and the work I do for school in another update in the future. I have been volunteering more at school since this school year. I really enjoy being more involved with my kids' school, but it’s also been difficult due to my health. I hope next year will be better.
This time of year is truly a busy time. Now it was my daughter's turn to celebrate her birthday. She turned 3 on December 10 and I made a Nijntje (miffy) cake on request of my daughter. We celebrated her birthday with family and friends at home :) She got a big wooden dollhouse for her birthday! <3 She was very happy turning 3.
Sadly after her birthday we immediately got sick, a stomach flu. After that everything was really busy at school since it was the last week of school. With Christmas brunches and everything, so I wasn’t able to do much work at home. Initially I didn’t have any work planned from November to December due to these times being busy. But due to all the delays I was hoping to catch up. But experiencing it again I am saying this again: I can’t plan any work past October, there are just too many distractions, other responsibilities and sick days that it’s impossible to stay on schedule.
When the 2 weeks vacation started I was sooo full of everything I just couldn’t do much. We even canceled our New Year’s party with friends (it was just 2 people :P), because I was just too tired and full. I just needed rest and it was nice to just have a chill day with my husband and kids. Ever since I am taking it a bit easier for myself.
Next year needs to go differently for the sake of my health. I have to take a few steps back or just take small steps. Change my mindset? I don’t know SOMETHING! I will share my goals in my next update!
I appreciate you all <3 Thank you for being her for me and supporting what I do!

Not so much Onesie time

Oktober update - Health, birthday, Halloween, onesie comi...
Posted 2 years agoOktober update is here!
First of all I am on Bluesky and I am looking for more furs to follow: https://bsky.app/profile/sweetsushi.bsky.social
Soo let’s start with a quick health update. I’ve been having continuous pain in my face, especially the left area of my head (my ears hurts, my sinussen, temple, head, eyes, neck etc) which has been causing a lot of trouble for me. According to the doctors my chronic sinusitis was over, but why still so much pain? So apparently I have developed a TMJ disorder. The doctor said the pain is caused by a dysfunction of my jaw joint. Pff I am feeling so much pain overall I didn’t realize the pain was coming from there. I am relieved there is nothing wrong with my head or brains or whatever, but I am hoping I will be able to relieve this pain soon. I have a jaw therapist now, so we will see if he will be able to help me. Apparently I have too much stress (and of course I have been dealing with this tooth problem for a couple of years now, but it’s gone now!). While I do feel alot better compared to my past, since I haven't had an easy childhood. And with having adhd, autism, ibs and fibromyalgia it’s not easy for me to relax. Ever since I got these diagnoses (I’ve only known since my late 20’s/early 30s) I do know and treat myself a bit better, so I have been more mindful, learning my limits and avoiding stress more. But it’s still very hard for me to relax or not worry too much. Therapist said it’s difficult because I am in a constant state of being tense. So due to my past my body has never learned how to relax. Now the TMJ, it’s not making my life easier. But nothing I won’t be able to overcome!
The week of my son’s birthday was a very no veeerryy busy one! And not just because I had to prepare his birthday cake. But it was also Halloween (the kids made cookies) and it was a very busy week at his school. We organized a workshop at school and made fall babies (posted a photo of this in my gallery) and for the workshop I baked delicious chocolate cookies, which btw was loved by everyone! :D Then that very same day we had parent evening which I also baked cookies for. And not just a random meeting nooo it was the creative kind. All the parents had to hand sew their own gifts for their child to give on December 5. It’s a celebration we have here in the Netherlands where kids receive presents from saint Nicholas.
Then on friday Ziri (my son) was celebrating his birthday at school and shared treats in his class, my husband made date snacks shaped like a moon (because his name translates to Moonlight). After school he chose 4 classmates to bring home so we could celebrate his birthday with the kids. We decorated the house to make it festive and we ate pancakes and played with lego, it was a lot of fun! On Sunday November 5 it was his real birthday we celebrated with our family and friends. I made a huge Ninjago birthday cake on request of my son and he got a lot of gifts, especially lego! He loves to build with lego and spend hours playing with it.
Sooo I am very happy all Halloween orders were done in time! I’ve been working non stop working on finishing all these splatoon hats! I was able to rest a bit after orders were done before I would dive into the busy times of school and a birthday O_O Luckily there was also a week off from school, my husband also took the week off and I finished some orders and was also able to spend some time with the kids. I still have a bunch of orders that I have scheduled for November/December this year. But before I dive into these again, I am going to finally start on a different project. I am looking forward to starting working on the onesie for Kaida, who has been waiting very patiently. I am very grateful for your patience with me and be sure to look out for work in progress updates here on my ko-fi.
For those interested in a splatoon hat please check my Etsy or my Ko-Fi shop, however I do prefer orders here on my Ko-Fi due to the heavy fee from Etsy.

Pffft because this month was so loaded with (too) much stuff happening I havent even talked about the fact my husband and I where celebrating our 15 year anniversary. We married 10-10, 4 years ago, but we’ve been together for much longer. To celebrate the kids slept a night at my parents in law and we went out for dinner, it’s been forever since we spend some time alone. It was my daughters first time sleeping somewhere else, but she did great! She will be turning 3 soon ^_^
Soooo that’s all for this month update, I think. Well there’s always more, but let’s save some for the next update! Until then :D

Posted 2 years agoSeptember - Finally got an Ipad, New Logo & Splatoon Hats...
Posted 2 years agoSeptember update is here!
Finally after yearssss of talking about it I saved enough for an IPad Pro. And I couldn’t be happier! I’ve already done so much with it in just a month since having it! I immediately bought an Apple Pencil and Pro Create and I am so happy I can finally draw more comfortably whenever I want. It’s still a lot of getting used to it, especially with the new program. I normally draw with a Wacom tablet and draw in Paint Tool Sai. And it’s very different now, but I am sure in time I will make all the awesome and cute art again <3 I’ve been barely drawing since I’ve become a mom and I am looking forward to picking this up again!
Although the main reason I bought an IPad + pen is to draw, I’ve also been exploring other programs. So at first I was looking into Adobe Illustrator, because that’s a program I’ve always used in the past for my graphic design work such as Logos and other illustrative designs. But when I saw how expensive that was I looked further. Then Affinity Designer came into the picture and for the price of just €19,99 I had to try it out. I was very surprised it was sooooo easy to pick up, especially if you have worked with Adobe Illustrator before. It’s very much the same and wow I just love it! I immediately started to make my long awaited Logo Design and after playing around with how to do things I quickly had my Logo done. I couldn’t be happier with my Logo. It’s finally more official and can finally make some official business cards and so much more.
The last few months I’ve been mostly busy with finishing a lot of Splatoon hats. I’ve had a huge backlog thanks to chronic illness, but I was finally able to catch up and was ready to take on new orders (especially for Halloween). I launched a big update on September 1 and opened my Etsy shop again after a long time being closed. I’ve been spending hours on editing and making new featured images for my shop. It was a much needed update and very happy how it all looks together. But it’s a lot of work, so even after adding a lot of new photos I am still not even halfway done. I am hoping to do the rest by the end of this year.
Halloween orders are full, but I still accept orders for being made later this year. You can order on either my Etsy or Ko-Fi, however I do prefer orders on my Ko-Fi!

August - Catlefest, YouTube, Halloween SALE & Onesies!
Posted 2 years agoMy slightly overdue August update is finally here!
Early August I was able to take some days off and we went to Catlefest for a couple of days. It was the first time we went camping with our kids and it was a success considering the bad weather and bad luck with our tent placement. However the kids were very excited and they really enjoyed the festival and sleeping in a tent, we were very well prepared. When arriving you had to wait until the people from castlefest appointed you to a place for your tent and they put us directly next to a huge motor that would be turned on all night to give light to half the camping. I wasn’t able to sleep at all and was very stressed and sensory overloaded the next morning. I was very sad, because I’ve been looking forward to this event all year long and I was just exhausted and wanted to go home. So we immediately moved our tent to a better spot and it was better the next night. But I was already so broken from the first night that we just went home a day earlier. Having to put up the tent all over again and keeping the kids entertained was very tiresome and due to my rheumatism I just couldn’t physically spend another night. We also had to waste unnecessary energy and missed out on a few bands we wanted to see live. Sorry I didn't want to complain, but this was the first time my experience was this bad and I just felt so guilty towards the kids as well. Nevertheless the kids had a fantastic time and enjoyed the music and food and fun activities for the kids. Castlefest itself was a very fun and positive experience. We enjoyed the bands we were able to see live and we just enjoyed spending time together outside with good music and food.
I finally did it. I've made a YouTube video where I talk a bit about myself and I am showing some cute item’s I’ve made for my ko-fi members. I worked really hard on them and I am very excited to share them here! I hope you will like the video! Please share it with your friends and furry family <3 I really hope to make so many more cute items and that I can make everyfur smile with my work! ^__^
>>> THE VIDEO IS LINKED HERE<<<
I am accepting limited Halloween orders!
Etsy Shop www.ateliersweetsushi.etsy.com Sale 15% discount!
Ko-Fi Shop www.ko-fi.com/sweetsushi/shop Sale 20% discount with code:HALLOWEEN23
I prefer orders on ko-fi because Etsy takes a huuge fee :(
Due to chronic illness I’ve been delayed with all my projects and I am very sorry for that. Luckily I am doing a lot better, but it might take a while before I am fully recovered. I still suffer from a lot of face ache and I can’t handle stress and hard sounds well. My ears and the left side of my head really hurts at some moments. Nevertheless I am able to work again at least. Even if it’s just a slower pace.
September and October are always very busy for me, because most of my Etsy orders are done during the Halloween period. Of course I get orders all year long, but this time of year is the busiest so with that in mind I will not be rescheduling Onesies during this period.
My reschedule will be looking like this:
At the beginning of this year I said no work after Halloween, but due to the circumstances I will be working after all.
November: Onesie Kaida
5 november will be my son's birthday and as soon as that is behind us I am planning to work on this onesie.
December: Onesie North
10 December will be my daughter’s birthday and as soon as that is behind us I am planning to work on this onesie. I am hoping to finishing it by the end of this year, but depending on how things go it can take until early January 2024
2024 January/February: Onesie Bristol
I will start this year with the onesie for Bristol and continue working on the other projects. I will post a schedule again when we come closer to 2024.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I will try to email you all soon with a personal update. I am very sorry for the delay, I am truly very grateful for all your patience with me. I am looking forward to working on all these project’s and also hoping to reopen slots again in the near future when I’m ready for it.

Castlefest

Onesies Schedule
Due to chronic illness I’ve been delayed with all my projects and I am very sorry for that. Luckily I am doing a lot better, but it might take a while before I am fully recovered. I still suffer from a lot of face ache and I can’t handle stress and hard sounds well. My ears and the left side of my head really hurts at some moments. Nevertheless I am able to work again at least. Even if it’s just a slower pace.

June/July - New Octoling Girl, Etsy Opening & Health Upda...
Posted 2 years agoA health update can be read at the end of this blog for those that are interested to read.
After finishing the ko-fi items for my package in June I started working on the Inkling Hats again. I was able to check off some items including a custom inkling hat where the customer asked for a different color I usually work with and with a cute bow hairpiece added (results in my ko-fi gallery).
After that I went back to prototyping the Octoling Girl Hat again. The one with the swirls and woww that one was a huuuuge challenge. This one kinda took a toll from me and in the end it took me 50 hours of prototyping before I could actually start the real piece O_O. By the end of July I finally had a proper example and this one would be send to the customer immediately since they needed it for their cosplay. I worked very hard to make their cosplay and I was very happy that I was able to make it on time. They received it and where very happy with the hat (photo of the cosplay couple in my ko-fi update, thank you so much for sharing this with me!) ♥
I will soon pick up another octoling hat, a magenta colored one that have been waiting very patiently too ^__^ I am excited to share all these new hats with you all!
I have been preparing a bit for making a you-tube video featuring my ko-fi spring package and other things. But then all kind of things came in between so I haven't gotten the chance yet to actually record the video, but I will be able to do that soon. It's hard to schedule recording the video with 2 little kids at home. But summer vacation will be over soon, so hopefully that will make a difference for my productive hours.
I will talk a bit about myself and talk about and showcase the projects I have been making recently. After that I will finally send the items to their new owners and hopefully have a video I can share with you all that can tell who I am, what I make and how you can support me so I will be able to continue making cute things. I hope to being able to focus a bit more on ko-fi items and make more unique projects in the future.
After a looooong time having my shop closed I have decided to open shop again on Friday September 1. I will then accept Halloween orders and it will be very limited! I don’t have much room to schedule too many hats, especially with the long shipping time. It will also be the last time for me to receive some income before closing again for the rest of this year. After Halloween I am going to focus on my family (both my children have their birthdays) and finishing Onesies! YES FINALLY!
Btw it’s best to order on my ko-fi, since Etsy takes alllooot of fee. So if you like to support me the best way you can, please buy on my ko-fi ^_^ I would really appreciate that ♥

Aside of covering the month August and our little family vacation. I like to talk about my other projects like onesies next time. Due to chronic illness and the unexpected difficulty of the octoling wig I have been delayed by ALLOT. We are not just talking days or weeks even, but multiple months. So this means most of the onesies I was planning to make this year will be moved to next year. I feel extremely guilty about the situation, but I also feel kinda stuck. I already kept my shop closed most of the times, but I also need “some” income. Soyeah I have not been doing well, but I feel a huge responsebility and I will not give up and keep working hard to deliver cute items to you all. When you are waiting for your onesie and are (not) reading this, don’t worry I will also email you personally soon ♥
A bit of a long update, I tried to keep it short >_<
Luckily my dentist could see that where my tooth has been taken out has been recovered very well. He then advised me to go back to the ENT specialist. We then scheduled for another CT scan to see how it looks compared the the last time. Early August I had the results and it pretty much looked pretty well especially compared to the last scan. He said, take it easy, it needs time to heal. It’s propably due to chronic stress I still endure pain on that side of my face, after having a chronic sinusits short after my tooth was taken out. On top of that I bumped my shoulder, exactly on the side where I had a bursitis in the past so I had to deal with that too. And now that both my yoga instructor and physiotherapist are gone (she has moved recently and she was my therapist for years *cries*) I kinda feel lost.
Conclusion, I currently still suffer face ache, but not as bad as what it used to be (it's mostly bad under much pressure, hard sounds etc) and I suffer pain in my shoulder and lower back. Both keeps me from working properly, but I still try. BUT I also think I am currently suffer from too much stress, so I have been thinking allot about what to do about this issue I continue to battle. I don't want to continuously complain about my health issues and just enjoy making all the awesome things. So hopefully this will be the last time I have the need to talk about this. I hope by being transparent and talking about it will be helpfull.

May Update - Health & Projects update
Posted 2 years agoI didn't realize we where already this far in June, so here's a late May + half June update :O
The sinusitis got worse again so I went to the doctors and they described me a medicinal nose spray. Even after using this everyday (I still do till this day) in combination with steaming, nasal douches with xylitol, allergic pills and heavy painkillers almost constantly it still isn't gone. It's really with up and downs, some days I am doing somewhat okay other days I can't even stand up straight. I had days I couldn't even pickup my oldest from school and other days when I did I was completely exhausted when I returned home. It's pretty much constantly heavy headaches, lot's of snot/slime, just allot of physical pain too and soooo very tired. I've got send to a radiologist and they did a scan on me and it confirmed it was swollen and irritated. So I got send to and ENT specialist, but I had to wait 3 weeks before I could make an appointment sigh. So this week on Monday I could finally come, but luckily I already feel much better (I think the heat is helping :P) since last week. I still feel pain and we all got sick again and the pollen are killing us :P But it's not as worse as it was, so I was kinda bummed out that finally after 3 months of having a sinusitis I could finally go to the specialist and all he could say is, hey your body is already self healing there is nothing we can do....<_< so he pretty much described me another nose spray and said to me I just had to sustain and keep using whatever I already did. If it does happen to get worse again, I could give them a call and see them again. Hopefully it won't be necessary, but if needed I hope I can have a quicker appointment. I still feel pain on the left side, but I will see the dentist next week also so I am planning to ask him what he thinks or see. Because the ENT specialist also said it's most likely caused by that tooth that's been taken out 3 months ago sigh....
I haven't been sewing much due to the sinusitis, but whenever I felt good enough I did checked off some other work. So just little things for now :) I finally took the time to finish some concept designs, so I am sooo happy I could finally share these with my commissioners :) You can check them out in my gallery (latest updates)
Other then that I am feeling somewhat stressed that my projects have been delayed so much. I've never been a star with deadlines, especially with little kids time can be unpredictable. But with the chronic illness things haven't been easy for me. I am going to do my best, try not to let these things that keep happens to me consume me, stay positive and work hard to finish projects :) I am just happy people are still excited for my projects and I hope the future will be bright ^__^ Wish me luck!
I've also been spending time on the spring package, it was supposed to be a spring release but ahwell better later then never :P I have been working really hard to make something cute and original for my supporters and I finally did it. I completed 2 items and a drawing and it just needs a little message and it will be ready to pack and ship. I cannot wait to showcase these cuties with you all and hoping it might make others excited for these items too :) I am really happy with the end result ♥
For Pride Month I like to support the LGBTQ community where I can 💖🌈 & what's a better way to celebrate and show your pride with these awesome pillow cases!? 🏳️🌈✨
With each sale I make I will put 15% aside and donate to TNN (Transgender Netwerk Nederland) that helps trans people and support on the job market!
>>> Find the Pillow Cases here! <<<
I also finally edited my octo boy hat and introduced the item in my shop! I am hoping to showcase the girl version soon too :)
OH and I am also currently running a SPRING SALE for anyone that is looking for a splatoon hat ;)

March/April Update - Health, Prototype, Ko-Fi Spring Pack...
Posted 2 years agoIt's time for a huge update!
As I mentioned in the previous update, my tooth was taken out. It took a while before I was recovered and on top of that I became very ill. I think everything together just destroyed my resistance. It started with a very bad cough (like really bad, I slept so bad) and I was still working really hard on prototyping at the time. I just wanted to make that deadline! But after 2 weeks I just couldn’t keep going, my health got worse, got a huge fever, still coughing allot, headaches and all I could do was sleep. When I finally thought I felt a bit better I got a sinusitis...again. And it just didn’t get any better, so after a month of being sick I went to the doctors and got antibiotics for the sinusitis. I started to get really stressed out because my work was on a stop again, while I was already very behind on schedule. So everything together was just not doing me very well. The antibiotics sadly didn't work at all and I wanted to return to my doctor, but again they where not available (vacation again...sigh) so I just endured a little longer.
About a week ago the sinusitis was finally doing a bit better, after a month causing me pain. But I still have to deal with allot of fatigue, snot/slime and headaches. But at least it’s not as bad as it was before. The virus is gone I think, all that is left is to recover. My kids also have been sick again, so they needed my care as well. I’ve been very stressed and not just because of work getting delayed, but also because I’ve been constantly sick since November last year and just haven't been able to get a proper break from it. I keep telling myself to stay positive, but it’s hard. And with everything going on I haven't been able to get a proper income, so financially it has also been hard. But I will manage somehow and will try to focus on positive things and work whenever I can. I have been able to work a little bit in the last few weeks. Not as much as I am used to, but it’s something at least! So hopefully you all still have some patience with me and soon I will be able to showcase so many awesome projects with you all ♥
Lets talk about the octo girl hat. Oh boyyyy...after 30+ hours prototyping I finally figured out the pattern of this new fleece hat. It looks really good, but I am not even done yet O_O. I have taken a break from it at the moment, since I had become very sick for quit a long time (read health update). If you are curious about the progress and a sneak peak, please consider supporting me on ko-fi. I post early look into projects and exclusive content for members only. The support means a ton to me! ♥
In the past 2 weeks I have been able to work a littl bit and started to finishing a few inkling hats. It felt really good to check off some things from my queue after such a long time. I post work in progress pictures of these on my ko-fi as well. I just need to finish this yellow inkling braid that is halfway done and start a custom braided one. Then I will continue prototyping the octoling girl and hopefully it won’t take too long for me to finish her. After that I am taking a little break from the hats and pick them up once I at least made a good start with the onesie for Kaida.
I also started working on the concept designs and hope to finish them soon. Things just has been slow, because I usually only can draw in the evening and I am so tired lateley due to illness. I want to thank you all for your huge patience with me, I really apreciate it!
Spring has official begun! I am preparing for the spring package and hopefully I will be able to ship it in May. I am in the progress of making a personal traditional art gift and I will make a small sewn item I have been inspired to make as well. I will keep it a secret/surprise for now, but once it's been shipped to their owner I will share what's inside ^__^ Excited! Even if it's just the one member :O Thank you so much for supporting me for the long run Exobass! And thank you! Sponst for joining as well! ♥ I hope more members will pop up so I can make more people happy with my content. I love making new things, I have allot of inspiration and ideas (just to little time). Time that can be created when I receive enough support ♥

I have rainbow pillowcases (almost) ready to ship, check them out of my ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/i/IC0C7JO26Q
Since my last update my Etsy shop has been closed, so I havent had any income from there. I have now decided to open it for limited orders. I will close shop again once I have reached the limit. My ko-fi shop stays open.

So hopefully you all still have some patience with me and soon I will be able to showcase so many awesome projects with you all ♥
Projects
Ko-Fi spring Package
My Shop
I have rainbow pillowcases (almost) ready to ship, check them out of my ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/i/IC0C7JO26Q
Since my last update my Etsy shop has been closed, so I havent had any income from there. I have now decided to open it for limited orders. I will close shop again once I have reached the limit. My ko-fi shop stays open.

February Update - Dentist, Octo hats & Shop Closed again
Posted 2 years agoIt's time for another update! ♥
WARNING DO NOT READ WHEN YOU ARE AFRAID FOR THE DENTIST!!!!!
Okay remember last year, like literally a year ago this month? I had to get a root canal treatment and it was one hellish time, because they let me walk with the heavy pain for such a long time to the point it got swollen so badly that it got infected. I had to cry everyday and I couldn't sleep, I literally went crazyyyyyy. Anyways I had a root canal treatment after all that crap and they had to destroy my crown I had placed the year before. So it was a tooth that was already causing my pain for a while now. A month of my life just gone :O Well here's the joke ;) I had to go back to the dentist again (I went back a couple of times) due to still having pain on that place for the rest of the year. Last week it was so bad again I constantly had to take pain killers. Sooo I went back again and he told me I had to get a root canal treatment AGAIN, like okay if the pain will go away sure I will throw all my money to this stupid tooth again. Went to him yesterday and when he was putting a hole in it again, cleaning all the roots again he discovered there was a root fracture. It was impossible to do the root canal treatment completely. That was the sensitive spot, he said I can (or rather said can't) complete the treatment, but the pain wouldn't go away like neverr. Then he said, I have to pull the tooth out. You are here now anyway, so lets do it! I was like whaaaaa after all this crap I still have to loose my tooth. Sooo yeah he pulled the tooth out and ohboy it was not fun. It came out in multiple pieces, it was completely fractured from the inside and especially the last piece was soooooo freaking sensitive I was truly on my limit. I survived...I have a hole now...by pain...by money :P lol Anyways in recovery now, picking up work again once I feel better. And hey I feel good enough to write this update, so I am doing okay I guess....O_O
In my spare time (read in the evenings, outside my work hours) I have been working on a project for my 4 yr old son. He would have a costume party at school and of course I could not resist making something for him. He has been asking me to make something for him for a while, since he's seen me working on all these projects for others. The theme was fairy tale, so he asked for a knight costume. I spend about a week making this costume for him and he totally LOVED it. And of course since I've spend all the time on this he can wear it at home or when we go outside or to a fair or something. He will probably outgrow it in a year, so I hope he will enjoy it allot while he can! I will post this project later on my KO-Fi I haven't yet, but it will be coming soon inclusive work in progress pictures ♥ It was really fun to do something for myself (well for my kid) ^__^
Since my last update I have been working non stop on the Octoling prototype. Like I said I way underestimated the project, but like always I am always up for the challenge. It's hard to estimate a project when it needs to be made from scratch. You could say it would be just like the inkling hats I've already made, but it's not like that at all. If you play or know Splatoon, you see there is a big difference between the inklings and octolings. The octos especially have the big poofy tentacles with suction cups on the outside. This makes it especially extra challenging to make this work for a hat. I had to think of a way to make a stuffed hat that would feel comfortable, practical and looking good at the same time. I think after like 24 hours prototyping and another 10 hours for the actual hat I nailed the design. I really love the result I've made but oh boyyy it took soooo long! And don't take me wrong, I love a challenge, but it really puts a pressure on you when it's for a client (you admittedly charged wayy too low for) that is trusting you with this new design and it's causing all these delays and mentally it was just very hard. BUT again I am kinda proud on the result and I cannot wait to showcase it to you all! It looks really cool and I didn't think it would look good as a hat, because tbh it looked soo goofy at first but with allot of tweaking I did it ♥
Curious about the progress and want a sneak peak into this project???
Check it out on my KO-FI www.ko-fi.com/sweetsushi ♥ I will eventually upload the final result here on FA as well, but I don't post everything here on FA.
I am actually quite productive ;) And of course I will sell the hat in my shop later too ^_____^
Now on to the girl version O___O ♥
As planned I opened my shop on Friday February 24 and I got like allot of orders right away! O_O I did not expected that at all. I was thinking maybe 2 -3 orders in a month, at least that was what I scheduled for lolll. But I already got 8 orders in the first week so I decided to close my shop before I got too much on my plate. If I would keep getting an order a day I wouldn't be able to finish orders on time, especially since these would be added in the queue after I finished some older projects first. Sooyeahh I am suppper happy and grateful my hats are wanted ♥ Thank youuu! Hoping to open shop again later this month, I was thinking the 24th again but I am probably postponing until early April when I fully feel comfortable taking on more work ♥
Etsy Shop www.ateliersweetsushi.etsy.com
Ko-Fi Shop www.ko-fi.com/sweetsushi/shop
Not much longer and I will finally be able to work on an Onesie! I've been stuck at the last few etsy orders due to the unexpected time I needed for the new octo hats. But like said in the previous journal, it's just a few more hats and then I will have complete focus on at least 1 onesie before I continue working on more splatoon hats again. As always, looking forward to this one ♥ It's going to look super cute! And again I am very sorry for all the delays, it's been a real challenge for me lately :O
Same goes for the concept designs :)
Every time I write these updates I am reflecting, what have I done, have I done enough, could I do things differently? But looking at everything I have done I actually did allot. I always would feel bad if I did not make or start on projects I scheduled for. There has been allot of delays lately and I feel really crappy about it. It's something I feel wasn't such a issue in the past, at least not as much and It's been a real challenge for me to deal with it. Okay to be honest making deadlines or have a fast turnaround was never my strong side. I am hoping it will be different in the future, because I feel not making deadlines or being delayed gives me allot of stress.

January Update - Almost done with Etsy orders!
Posted 2 years agoHello here with another monthly update ♥ Thank you all very much for reading my updates and following + supporting what I do. I really appreciate all the interest in my work ♥ Don't forget you can also follow and support on my ko-fi for exclusive updates and wip pictures. I will post sneak peaks and behind the scene pictures of the things I make. I am also planning to make tutorials and videos to share how things are made ^__^ www.ko-fi.com/sweetsushi
I've been continuing journaling my work and I already feel it works better that I've changed the 10+5 hours to 8+4 hours. It's such a minor change, but has a big impact on me. I feel more accomplished with what I've done, so that's a big boost for my mental state. However winter depression really hits me hard this time though. I have a difficult time finding energy later at the day and my focus early on the day is really bad. I feel I still have allot on my mind and lots of struggles that keeps me from being productive. Especially in January I had so much to process from the past few months and just recovering in general, so it was hard for me finding my way back to work. I have been extremely exhausted and just a very bad concentration for the past couple of weeks. But I am happy I have taken care of allot of things, like posting these updates, making a schedule and contacting my clients.
For January through February I planned to finish my Etsy orders, so that's what I've been doing in the past couple of weeks. I first started with a new prototype hat, which I then took a little break from (I once again kind of underestimated the time needed & was already overtime :P) to pick up some other orders. I finished 2 more miku hats and also a bunch of other inkling hats! Soyeah I've been a busy bee and I am happy that it won't be long until I have finished all orders. Just the 2 new octo hats which I am in the progress of making a prototype for and then 3 more inkling hats!
I have been 2 months without an income due to my shop being closed. So after I (almost) finished all these orders I am planning to open shop again on Friday February 24. I think I will be needing untill the end of the month to finish my current orders, but I am not expecting to receive orders right after I opened shop. I will then slowly update my items in my shop with updated photos. It still needs allot of work and editing though.
You can find my shop on www.ateliersweetsushi.etsy.com
Once I've finished my orders and opened shop I will be working on my kigurumi projects. I am hoping to finish one kigurumi in 4 weeks and then after each finished kigurumi I will spend a week on Etsy orders and then back to the next kigurumi project. We will see if this work flow works. It depends mostly how much orders I will bring in from my Etsy (which is mainly my income) and also how long it will take to finish one kigurumi. Kaida's onesie is first in line and I am very much looking forward to work on this design. After I finished that one I will have a better idea of what kind of workflow will work for me. I am also introducing new improved patterns that will include better custom sizing for each individual. I am pretty excited to finally be able to work on these projects and share the finished designs ♥
I have a few concept designs that still needs to be finished. I have tried to schedule these in, but I've been so tired lately that I haven't found the time or rather energy to make them. But these shouldn't take long at al! So I will be contacting my ko-fi clients soon with an update about their commission. If you read this, I want to apologies for the delay! I hope you all have still a bit of patience with me ♥ Once my Etsy orders are done I should have a better overview and less distractions, so I can focus a bit better on these side projects.
So that was all for this update! ^____^

Plans for 2023!
Posted 3 years agoThis is a follow up of this journal if you are interested to read that also.
This year I was finally being able to do yoga again, after not being able to go for 2 months. And I already feel this is already helping me to recover and getting stronger ♥ Both physical and mentally! I feel like I just had to endure the last couple of months of 2022. So for 2023 I will have some plans to avoid any more stress and disappointment.
First of all! I have been journaling in 2022. I've been keeping track of all my hours and other things. After summarizing the past year I realized I am asking too much of myself. I keep schedule an amount of hours and projects that I can't realize. I thought I could do it...but I think I mostly underestimated the amount of time and energy I have to spend on my children and also what I can handle myself and the amount of time that's in a day in general >_< there is not enough haha AND also my husband works at home (which is more a of a pro actually, it's thanks to him I can also work when one of the children is at home) most of the days we work around that too. Then there is the unknown unexpected factor of being sick, having appointments and just plainly underestimate the time needed for a project :P
Soooooooo I will do it differently this year. Starting with CLOSING my shop! I closed my Etsy shop halfway December. It was a hard decision, because I need the income. But I was still sick back then and for some reason orders kept coming in and I was like this is not going well. I mean yeah of course it's good that people are ordering, but I mean no I am sick I am behind I am getting stressed I need to close it before I am done forever! I will keep it closed until probably February as soon as I cached up my etsy orders. So once I am done with that I will open shop again and slowly update my shop with the million photos I have taken in the past couple of months ha ha ha :P
Secondly I will adjust my scheduled hours. I always would say I can manage 10+5 hours a week. And sometimes I could do it easily and sometimes even more. But "most" of the times I wouldn't so I have to be realistic and see what the numbers are saying. And looking at the journal it would be more realistic to plan 8+4 hours a week. This basically means 8 hours for productive hours and 4 hours for all the other things like writing this way too long journal :O (update: which is now divided into 2 journals btw) On top of that planned vacation is vacation! I have been working during vacations and no I just shouldn't. I have to say it out loud, otherwise I will make this mistake again.
Third is I will STOP taking any orders after Halloween! If anything is going to be the same like last year, I have to keep in mind that work will be super busy from September through October for Halloween orders. This will be mostly from my Etsy shop. I am not saying it will happen again, but I will be counting on it and if not it will just have time for different projects. Meaning I will have a huuuge rush in September/October and halfway October I will close my Etsy shop and I will stop taking orders for the rest of the year. I need time to recover from the Halloween rush and right after it will be my son's birthday and then my daughters, then Christmas again and just thinking about it makes me so stressed. I want this year to be a positive experience. I want to enjoy my children's birthday, I WANT to make their cake, I WANT to do fun things with them. They deserve my full attention and love and I don't want to be stressed out during that period. I am also keeping in mind, it's the season of being sick again...so I am just taking off in advance just in case I am getting sick allot again. And to avoid any disappointed, because I can't say no >_> I will just decide now that I will not be accepting any new orders or completion between after Halloween and New years eve. I will be back creating in the new year and I should be free from stress and backlog, so I can immediately start with new projects right away.
What brings me to the onesies. This year will be the year I finish all the onesie projects I already have accepted in the past. I will not be planning new onesies this year. However I will schedule a new opening date this year and depending how it goes I will open asap. But don't expect it to be soon. I am thinking either July or October. I am very sorry it will take a while, but I need to create room for myself to make these projects. I never rush projects, I strive for quality products. Please give me the time to recover, finish things and I will give updates along the way :) Thank youu all so much for the support and if you have read this WOW you must be a huge fan. Please leave a comment and big hugs ♥ ^______^
Pheww I feel a weight lifting off from me. It's that English isn't my own language, otherwise I would be vlogging or something. I love to make video updates, I can talk soo much BUT it's in my own language and switching/speaking to English is so difficult for me, it would feel so unnatural and not as spontaneous and energetic >_< I am a big rambler, you would either hate or love me for it!

November/December Update - Happy New year! ♥ O__O
Posted 3 years agoHa ha ha I know it's like already January, but I just want to share a few updates before January comes to an end. Sooooo first of all HAPPY NEW YEAR! hehehe I hope you all had a great new year and a nice holiday season. For me it was...uhmm meh idk I have been sick almost constantly and just allot of stress. But nevertheless we gave our children a good Christmas and spoiled them with lots of gifts. And not to forgot both my children have their birthday in November and December, so that made things extra busy but also fun :) And idk if people are actually reading this, I mean it's quite a long read. But at least it helps me to give all the thoughts a place and move on ♥
YOU CAN SKIP TO PROJECTS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ABOUT PERSONAL STUFF AND BIRTHDAYS AND MOVE ON TO THE PROJECTS AND PLANS FOR 2023!
Soo lets begin with my son's birthday. He turned 4 on November 5! Not just a year older, but this also meant he would say goodbye to kindergarten and say hello to a new world in school. These where exciting times for sure. First I prepared for goodbye gifts to give at his kindergarten. I've made 16 cute fleece marble bags in 4 different colors with a moon embroidered on it. My son's name means moonlight, so I have been using a moon symbol allot ever since he got born. In the bag we put in a wooden puzzle and a homemade date cake in the shape of a moon :O The teachers also received a little gift to thank them for their care ♥
After his last day in kindergarten, the next weekend would be his birthday. For his big day I spent a week on creating this huge cake made from chocolate and marzipan. I created this huge pirate/ocean themed cake! My sister was actually supposed to make the cake, but then suddenly I had to make it myself so at the last minute this gave me some extra stress. But I was very happy to make the cake in the end, as I really loved the end result, it was tasty and the best part was seeing my son being super happy with the cake. I mean there was a huge red octopus on the cake, what more can you ask for :P The sad part was though, almost everyone we invited was sick. It was supposed to be a cake for 16 people and only his grandparents could come so we ended up eating the cake for the rest of the week hahaha But the most sad part was for my son, he was very sad that everyone had gotten sick and couldn't come for his birthday :( poor thing. Times like these are already very exciting for little kids. He becomes very full and can't sleep well during these times. And then for us this time it was the switch to kindergarten to school, birthday, more birthdays coming up and the holiday season that became very stressful for us all. But the good thing is it's all behind us now! And he's doing very well on school! ♥ Yay
My daughter's birthday was on December 10th and she turned 2! I've gotten sick (again) after my son's birthday but I was determined to make her a birthday cake too. This time I was prepared so I created this cute jokie cake for her since she is a big fan of the show and attraction from the Efteling. It's a fairytale, similar to grimm Theme Park and she is such a fan of the cute little jester with a big red nose. This cake also took me a couple of days to make and it was a huge success, she loved the cake, she constantly smiled and the cake was tasty and this time not everyone called in sick hahaha so almost everyone could enjoy the cake also :) Naturally she's been spoiled with gifts just like my son was. Oh and I also made her a fleece crown with a number 2 on it! ^__^ ♥ They are still wearing/playing with it this day! Luckily it was less stressful this time, since 4 is such a bigger step due to the start of a new chapter aka school. And also I think she isn't overwhelmed as quickly as my son does, so that really helps too.
Soo again after my girls birthday I've gotten sick again >_> We literally had all these highlights these past few months and in between I was sick almost constantly :P It was something different each time. At first it was just a common flue, then I had a soar throat and later it was actually covid and everything just hurts and then I got a heavy sinusitis on Christmas day that I had to take antibiotics for later when it only gotten worse. I had a very bad face ache, I just couldn't function anymore and on top of that I felt very stressed due to work being delayed again and just feeling powerless and sad because I was sick again. The children would be sick often too and it was already hard to take care for the children when I would be sick as well. Everything was just super crappy for the past few months >_< Pfft sorry just had to say it! ughh
But nevertheless we did spend the day with my parents in law, I felt good at first but later that day the sinusitis (well a very heavy pain in my face started, I didn't knew it was a sinusitis until later) started. Once they would go home I would go to bed immediately because I was just DONE, so much pain and so tired. At first I thought maybe it's from all the stress, but nope (well maybe it helped with being weaker?) My kids have been spoiled though, we gave them lots of gifts but I am just happy it's all behind us now! Everything just gives to much tension you know, like the children are getting restless, people are getting sick and everything is just such a drag and not fun. At least normally it's quite a happy time and it still kinda was but I am just sooo exhausteddd! O______O
Then new years came, we spend the day with just the 4 of us. I was just done with everything. I just wanted a chill day for once. So my husband made olibollen ♥ so delicious ^__^ Sadly I endured allot of pain since Christmas and as stubborn as I am I wanted to wait it out before going to the doctors (a flu would normally go away eventually). I knew it was some cold or sinusitis that caused the pain, but it only gotten worse and every time when I did want to call the doctors it would already be too late or the weekends. So I waited it out until new year and then I finally got on antibiotics and see what that would do for me. It sadly took a while to kick in, a whole week. And to top it off with a cherry the sinusitis had spread out to my neck and shoulders and caused a bursitis. I did call the doctor about it, but as always I like to avoid any contact with them (I kind of dislike the doctors assistant, she never listens to me and whenever I call she always acts very hateful towards me) I told her I had allot of pain. In the end I just took some extra painkillers and EVENTUALLY the heavy pain in my shoulder went away. It was not the first time I had a bursitis so luckily I knew how to handle it. It took quite a while though and I haven't been able to move my arm (at least I had to minimalize and couldn't reach out or above my head) for quite some time.
On to the projects! I covered some personal projects in the journal above, so let's move on to the commissions! So in between the busyness of the season, birthdays, school and sick days I actually also worked on Etsy orders. I tried my best to finish as much as I could, but will pick some highlights. Next to my regular splatoon hats I also could make a Miku hat again. It's been the longest time I was able to make a Miku hat again and I really enjoyed making it. I also photographed the finished project so I could finally make an updated entry for this hat. I am quite excited to share this project with you. I also made something I never made before, a Pearl hat! And wow it was quite a challenge, but I am super happy with the end result. I already posted a sneak peak on my ko-fi if you are curious, so be sure to take a look. It was much fun to figure out her patterns, since she has such an unique design. I couldn't reuse any of my other patterns, so it was a hat completely made from scratch. I hope you will be excited to see more updates about this hat as well. I like to offer this hat in my shop in the future. I just want to figure out a crown for her first, since the commissioner only bought her wig and not a crown with it. And it feels incomplete to offer a pearl hat without her crown. So that's definetly something to look forward too ^__^ Soo yeah even though it was rough on me I at least did something....but at what cost? I feel I had to disappoint allot of people in the end. And I also felt I couldn't handle the stress anymore and wanted to give up................I will see this as a huge lesson and take things differently in 2023. See next part of the journal!
UPDATE: I have decided to put this in a new journal :P It's about 2023 after all so I can keep this one focused on Nov-Dec 2022 :O See that's what happens when you don't post an update regularly >_<

September/October Update - There's just too many to name ...
Posted 3 years agoSooooo here's a very delayed update here on FA! If you like to be more up to date (including wips/photos etc.), be sure to follow me on twitter and ko-fi ^__^ I have like ALLOT of updates (I will save a personal update for my next journal since it's just tooo much already), so much stuff to progress from the past few months my head is just BOOM! I will try to summarize it all....here we gooo!
First of all my etsy shops name is changed from Fanties to AtelierSweetsushi, this will be my new business name for everything. You can now find my shop on www.ateliersweetsushi.etsy.com. This is a name I came up with early this year, I already spend time concepting a logo for it (but haven't gotten the time to make it digital yet) and I am planning to use this name for all my work. So That means for my art & sewing, as always I will be known as the artist SweetSushi and I thought it would be cool to make it Atelier Sweetsushi since I am basically an atelier, with the initials A.S. New website will be coming soon (still very sad I lost my website sigh), hopefully I will find some time next year! This is going to take allot of time, so until then you can find me on www.sweetsushi.nl
Sooooo lets talk about the Splatoon 3 release. Oh boyy! So I've decided to make this cute new braided hair style for the inklings, which is definitely my personal favorite now. I introduced the new hat on September 9 the same day of the game release and my birthday O_O And I think I just "kinda" underestimated the hype for this :O. I estimated maybe 17 max 20 hat orders in my shop for 2022. But after the introduction of my new hat style, my shop just exploded with interest for my custom splatoon hats. I already made 40 hats, most of them where for Halloween and I had to reschedule all my other work because of it since this was time sensitive. And in the end I even had to close for orders to be made for Halloween, because I just couldn't schedule any more work in such a short timeline. It was like crazy busy and I kept getting messages if I could make their hat for Halloween, but sadly there was just no more time left. Heck I never expected this to happen and got so overwhelmed that I barely posted updates. So yeah I am super grateful that my shop got a boost because of the new game/new hat release/Halloween combo! I have to remember this for next year, so I can be better prepared.
I was looking for a way to share videos of my work. I think it’s a nice way to share more updates and give a more in-depth look into my finished work. Sadly twitter downgrades the video quality by ALLOT and ko-fi doesn’t have their own video function, so I had to look elsewhere to upload my videos. So I ended up with You-Tube and started making a channel. It’s something that was always in my mind and maybe even to livestream in the future. I started with a video introducing my new inkling hat with the cute braid. I am just basically sharing how to make a braid, since I thought it would be useful for people to take care for their hat. You can find my channel on www.youtube.com/@ateliersweetsushi and I am planning to post more videos in the future. Looking forward to this new journey ^__^
In June I started memberships on my ko-fi so I can start offering exclusive content and goodies to supporters. And to start creating more different things I begun a monthly poll in August. For August people voted Klonoa, which I will be making a cute hat for. In September people voted for an Angel Dragon Tail, so that’s also something that will be coming in the future. The idea of these polls is actually to have people vote for what they want and I will then make that in the month after. The finished items could also be included in the boxes I will send to my ko-fi members. But due to the busy season of Halloween I haven't been able to work on these items. Maybe I am asking too much of my self, or I just underestimated the interest in my hats whooo knows O_O Now we are already in November and I don’t have an October or November poll. So I was thinking skipping these 2 months, since I am still new with ko-fi anyway. And continue this adventure in December or maybe January since things are already busy as is. I will see what I can manage, since I am already veryyyy overwhelmed right now. For members I will still of course post exclusive content, send gift packages & other benefits. I am just keeping a distance from the polls for now and continue them when times are less busier.
Last but not least, due to busy season I had to reschedule other work. I like to work on my concept designs soon, 1 poncho, 1 hoodie and 2 onesie designs. These have been in my mind for a while and they shouldn't take very long to make, so lets do it!
Onesies....oeff! Where to start. I was planning to open every season, but like I said in my last update I had to skip October's opening update and I am thinking about skipping January too. So more information about that in my future update! I haven't finished enough work to accept more and I don't want to pile up too much work. I really love working on my onesies, so I am a bit sad I had to postpone them again. I am super exited for all the projects that I have accepted. So lets just do it and start making and finish onesies already! I’ve emailed Kaida a while ago for an update which has priority now! I like to schedule 3 days a week for the onesie and 2 days a week for hats. Then when I am close to finish Kaida’s onesie I will email the next client for their Onesie project (so don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about you all!). As for now the finished dates looks like this, but it might change depending on the kids, my husbands work and my health:
> December: Kaida
> February: North
> March: Bristol
> April: Lapres
> May: Diggery
Looking at this I will be skipping Januarys opening date too and accept new onesie commissions again in April! So be sure to keep an eye out around that time if you are interested ♥ I am very sorry for the delay! Like I said I never expected so many interested in my splatoon hats and then there’s also me still getting used to getting back to work, finding balance in being a mom of 2 little kids and working on projects while at the same time not overworking and staying healthy O_O Like wow this year haven’t been my best year health wise, I have been sick/having health issues allot. I really hope next year will be better! Definetly looking forward to what next year will bring me and what I will be creating for you all! Thank you all so much for the support and trust in me and my work! ^______^

I will see what I can manage, since I am already veryyyy overwhelmed right now. For members I will still of course post exclusive content, send gift packages & other benefits. I am just keeping a distance from the polls for now and continue them when times are less busier.
Art & Onesies Queue

August Update - Vacation / Summer Sale / Support me on Ko...
Posted 3 years agoTime for a monthly update ^_^
Personal update first! Pfoee 2 weeks of vacation is now behind us. While my intention was to catchup on work during my husbands vacation, the opposite happened. I guess my expectations where a bit unrealistic, especially with 2 little kids at home. Buuut at least we had fun and did allot of fun things, went to the zoo, castlefest (a fantasy fair + music festival), a big park where you could play and swim and we finished it with a nice day at the sea and beach. I never go to the beach, since I am not a big fan of the sun :P but we actually had a very nice day and the kids enjoyed it alllooot! We had a heatwave in the last week and that was pretty tiresome. So glad that is behind us! Work was just impossible during this heat and the kids also wanted to go outside (naturally) so we didn't stayed at home much.
While I am prepping for the new Splatoon 3 release (prototyping a new hat) check out my huge Summer Sale on Etsy. There is a 20% OFF on all my Splatoon Hats!
ArtFight was a success! Well I haven't drawn many attacks, I'm really proud on all the cute pieces that I could make. And what's so beautiful about AF is drawing for people with love and good vibes, being able to make someone happy really gives so much joy. This event truly brings people together and creates an enjoyable environment in the art and furry community!

I really loved working in this cute and bold style. There are like at least 10 more people I wanted to attack for ArtFight, so many cute characters that inspired me! But sadly life, work and illness got in the way. But I'm very happy with what I did at least and there's always next year ^__^
If you like ♥ this style, please consider supporting what I do and commission me via KO-FI
Sadly not much progress in the onesies, due to illness (yes again pffft), delayed splatoon work, vacation and a heatwave O_O So naturally my scheduled has been moved up. It's not a problem I think (hopefully) but there will be a slight change in my next opening date. To avoid piling up too much work, I like to move the opening date from October to probably January. I am hoping to cover up the missed income with Splatoon orders on my Etsy. So I am a little bit stressed about that, but hopefully nothing to be concerned about. But any support would be very much appreciated!!!! Please check out my KO-FI if you like to support me and my little family ^__^ There are memberships, commissions, also concept designs are open as always or just give me a follow and share my work with the world ♥ ^______^
As always art commissions will be made in between projects. Commissions are open on my KO-FI if you're interested. I recently updated my commissions page, with more detailed information and more examples. There are also a few new commission options like cute simple headshots and a PWYW illustrations like the ones I made for ArtFight ♥ ^_^
Thanks for reading my updates and seeya next time :D puuuhhh

What would you like me to craft something of next?
Posted 3 years agoOn ko-fi I have something new, memberships! A member supports my work and get's cool benefits like handmade gifts in return. For August I would like to make something for the winning game title. This could be something like a hat, plush, bag or other cute merch. On twitter I posted a poll about different themes & "(retro) gaming" won! I like to keep these polls exclusively for my "Power Badge" members, but I just launched my page & hoping to welcome more members soon ^_^
>>> VOTE HERE! <<<
Please let me know which one interest you right now ♥ I will most likely have these titles come back in next polls ^_^ Remember this handmade item could be one of the things included in the package found in my memberships! For the Power & Fan badge I will send a yearly package with handmade items and for the Creative badge I will send a package every season!

July Update - ArtFight / Splatoon Hats / Kigus CLOSED
Posted 3 years agoTime for a monthly update ^_^
Oh first I want to share I now have a linktree on my website www.sweetsushi.nl For a while it was empty, since I lost my website with backup that went wrong :( Making a new website is going to take a while, so for now I thought It would be a good idea to link a linktree from my website. Better then a blank page right!? And now at least you know where to find me ^_^
During the month July everyone can enjoy ArtFight a collaboration between many artist that can attack/revenge each other with drawings or other crafts. This time it's team Bloom against team Wither. Last year was my first time and I am excited to join this year again with my goal to do allot more attacks and revenges ^__^ It's a perfect way to try out new styles and improve your skills. So this year I thought it would be fun to make cute little drawings of all my oc's to feature them on my card! I really like this new style, it's simple yet cute and I can draw them fast so that's a big plus for me :P I cannot wait to make all the cute characters ♥ Anyways I am team Wither! You can check out my page on https://artfight.net/~SweetSushi
I am always open for Splatoon Hats on my Etsy www.fanties.etsy.com however they are now also available on https://ko-fi.com/sweetsushi/shop I like to work in batches of 5 hats so this month I will be spending 1 or 2 weeks on my next batch and will be able to share some cool new colors with you all! Also a new game will be coming out in September, to be precise on the 9th on my Birthday! I am super excited for this and am planning to make a few new hat styles in the next month in celebration of the new game! ♥
July 1st I've opened for new slots for this years completion. I filled those slots quickly and very excited to work on all the designs. Thank you all so much for the interest and support in my work, I'm very grateful! I always like to work ahead so I can accept new slots while I am working on the previous batch of kigus. This gives me time to prepare all the work, like discussing details, making a concept and buying the materials for the next project. I easily get overwhelmed, so this also helps to let it sink in a bit. This way I know what comes next and can properly schedule my work in the future. For this year that's going to be at least 4 onesies, about 1 onesie per 1,5 month. I will be accepting new slots during the Fall season as preparation for 2023! So if you are interested in getting a kigu keep your eye out for future updates. Oh and I am always open for making a concept design to help you with visualizing your character as a onesie >>> http://ko-fi.com/sweetsushi/commissions

June Update - ko-fi / kigurumi quotes OPEN!
Posted 3 years agoIt's been a while since my last update, I've been a busy bee mostly :3
One of the bigger updates is, that I now have Memberships on my ko-fi. I've always wanted to make a Patreon, but never got around doing it (I just got a mom and so on). So now with ko-fi introducing this options and me back to work again I thought it would be a good idea to finally start offering this kind of thing. I have been really thinking this through, what will I use this for, what will I offer, what will the tiers be!? So I have finally come up with 5 different tiers that I like and illustrated cute badges with it. It took me allot of work, but very happy with it. I just launched it and I really hope I can eventually build a following/support base from there, so I can realize my dreams as a seamstress ^_^ I will write a separate blogpost with detailed information and my goals later.
Check out my launch image here!
If you have any feedback or questions about my ko-fi page, just let me know!
I also now have a ko-fi shop ♥ check it out here: https://ko-fi.com/sweetsushi/shop For now it's just Splatoon Hats (cheaper then on Etsy btw) and something new! Pillowcases ^_____^
The new item is a Furry Pride Pillowcase, it's a pillowcase (well obviously) where you can choose a pride flag and if you like you can have a paw sewn on it to show you're a furry too ^__^ Eventually I like to design more pillowcases, so I hope that's something you will be interested in. There are 2 ways to get a pride pillow for yourself, check out my shop or enter my GIVEAWAY on twitter ♥ hurry because it ends on 6/12
NEW you can now get a concept design of your character visualized as a kigurumi pajama! Before I only made these for those that bought a kigurumi from me, but now they are available to anyone. It will help you to visualize your character as a kigurumi which I will be opening soon! I am also accepting quotes atm! I won't be accepting new slots until July (a bit later sorry)
pssst check out my ko-fi for a guaranteed slot!
More info here!
I finally did it, I've finished the Vaporeon Kigu ♥ I waayyy underestimated this project, so it took me allot longer to finish. Buuut I am really happy with the result and cannot wait to send it to my commissioner ^__^ I will be uploading the finished onesie soon here on FA, but if you can't wait to see the result I've posted a little sneak peak on my twitter.
Further more I work on art commissions in between sewing projects as always, I recently finished this drawing that I'm pretty proud of too ♥ Commissions are open on my ko-fi if you're interested.

Health update
Posted 3 years agoIn my last journal I was mention something about my health. The reason my health isn't doing so well is because I have a pretty bad (and with that I mean REALLY BAD) tooth nerve pain. I went to the dentist right away but they send me away and blamed it on overloaded jaw muscles so I went to a jaw therapist and took some advice on massaging my chewing muscles. I seriously have gotten crazy of the pain, beside my teeth and jaw muscles being super sensitive and tense, had some sort of facial ache/TMJ syndrome. The pain continuously extended to really bad pain in my jaw, ears and head. I kept trying to massage the pain away for the past 9 days and on top of that my palate got infected and swollen what made things extra worse. Just swallowing and eating was really hard to do and made things even worse. So I haven't been eating and sleeping well at all, during the evenings and nights where the worst. After a week going crazy I got to the doctors to check it out and they send me to a oral surgeon. They pretty much came to the conclusion I had to go back to the dentist because it IS my teeth. I have been dealing with so much pain and I was so angry that I was back to where I started. So yesterday I went to the dentist and they pretty much came to the conclusion it was a bad tooth, so I was dealing with heavy tooth nerve pain all this time...I can't even....So now because of the infection I have to deal with that first, I am on antibiotics atm for 5 days. Then next week, on thurday....yes they still let me wait so long O_O before they can treat the tooth. I will get a root canal treatment, so bey money. I am so upset, but hopefully it will all be over soon since I am so tired of all this pain and I just want to do my things already O_O_O_O_O_O sigh.
March update - New twitter! 2 kigus for sale ♥
Posted 3 years agoHello!!!
Here with another update :3 Let me start with introducing 2 new twitter accounts I made. twitter.com/SweetsushiDraws & twitter.com/SweetsushiSews I made these 2 accounts, since I felt my main twitter got cluttered with all kind of stuff like personal tweets, retweets and random posts. I like my followers to be able to follow specific content from me and since I am an illustrator and seamstress I decided to make 2 separate accounts for that. I hope it will make my feed more organized and focused on the content I create ♥
Last couple of weeks have mostly been taking care of things, socials, adds, shop and branding. Due to not being able to work in my sewing room I spend most time elsewhere. I decided to start a ko-fi which you can find on www.ko-fi.com/sweetsushi it's not completely set up yet, but I added some commission options and I will expand later and make a banner and such.
I also decided to fill my etsy shop more with different items then just Splatoon Hats. There are now 2 kigurumi pajamas available, be sure to check it out! I love to offer more projects like these in between custom fursona Kigurumi Projects. Since I have been delayed quite some bit it will take a bit longer before I can open new custom slots again. So for now I am hoping these 2 kigus I am offering in my Etsy will be something you like to see more often. Curious!? You can find them here: www.fanties.etsy.com
Talking about Fanties, I came up with the name back in 2015 but now that I am (re)branding I like to go with one name. So once I made my new logo I will change the name official and it won't be Fanties any longer. The content that I offer will stay the same :) I have been brainstorming allot about a complete new name, but after much consideration I decided to go with Sweetsushi (it still fits me the best) but giving it a upgrade. So I am playing with the name Sweetsushi that I currently have and I came up with something I really like. I've been sketching out variations of the name and logo designs on paper, asked around what I should go for and I am hoping to digitalize it soon and share it with you all! The new logo design looks really cute imo already ♥ I am super excited and with that I can't wait to make a new webshite(shop) and business cards with it ^___^ Finally I can do things the right way! It feels so complete :)
Furthermore I have been working a bit on a art commission and also prepping work (and buying new materials) for a batch of splatoon hats! I was supposed to finish the Vaporeon already and finish the hats this week, but due to not being able to sew in my room and my personal health it wasn't meant to be. I'm trying to stay positive, since I am usually getting a bit stressed if things aren't going as planned. But I am still pretty happy I could at least still do allot of other work that's also important :3
That's alll! Planning to grab my chances whenever I can and feel good to work on some projects. Main priority atm is finish the batch of splatoon orders, then right back to my Vaporeon project to finish that asap ♥ So plenty of work for me to do. Thanks for reading my updates hehe.
