THE MISSION








This account exists to challenge the musicians of the furry fandom to create something new...







We have groups dedicated to showcasing new music from our artists...groups to showcase those who create original material as well.



I propose something new.



For those who wish to participate, I will attempt to offer ideas. I will show you sounds that may be strange or new to you.

Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to take that sound and dissect it. Use it. Apply it. Create something using the

tricks and techniques that you learn from these songs.



Whether it be a short couple of riffs that you came up with while listening and experimenting with the style, or a full-blown

masterpiece, the goal is merely to learn something that you didn't know before, and then test it out for yourself. 



Also, we'd like to encourage songwriting, and may introduce prompts both for the music and the lryics. One of the hardest

parts of writing a song is deciding what to write it about. It's possible that all we need is a little inspiration...so if you're having

trouble pulling something new from the prompt, then go ahead and check out the lyrics. See if there's something that catches

your eye.

Some ideas for the challenge (Input, please~)

Alright, guys. I sat down today and started thinking of a way to help the

challenge along. I've been doing this by myself, and it gets difficult to come up

with a really good prompt or challenge on time. Soo...I came up with an idea that

 might work pretty well, the only downside is that we're still a pretty small group,

and we don't get much traffic. Request journals in the past have gone without

a single reply, which is unfortunate, but understandable.





So maybe we should take a hint from the format that

 furrymusicians use for their spotlight.





Instead of a journal, I could post a recording to introduce the challenge (with

a typed transcript, of course!) Alongwith the challenge would be a journal taking

suggestions for the next challenge. That would clear up some clutter, make the

challenge a bit more fun, and give us a chance to get a few ideas for next time.

Not to mention it would also add a bit of style.





And we're all about style.





How do you guys feel about this idea? Also, are there any other suggestions that

you'd like to make? Feel free to post suggestions right here in the journal~!





Also, if you know someone who writes, sings, or plays an instrument, let them know

we're out here! This group exists to try to help others find inspiration when they're going

through blocks in music. Responses to the challenge can be text, music, or visual

art if that's what you get inspired to do.



Spread the word, and together we can help one another. We've witnessed

the breath of creation here already, and I intend for us to keep on creating!

I find myself a bit short on inspiration of late. Maybe this group will help a bit in that area. In any case, it sounds like something I\'d like to kep tabs on. Great idea! ^_^
