A relative was playing her old copy of Pokémon Red and complained about she kept running into Zubats while exploring the game's world. Being out of the whole Pokémon franchise for quite some time, I had to remind myself via Google Images what a Zubat was. Now, I remember. Freaky eyeless creature of the caves. And apparently, if the Google Images results (such as a parody Art Deco advert about some "Repel") are anything to go by, it really is a recurring nuisance to players. Bizarrely, those two neon-style pieces I created of Porygon and Magnemite over two years ago came to mind. So I tweaked it a bit and thought of an odd Zubat neon sign. "Nightly Nostalgia Radio" came to mind, with this "Mt. Moon" coming from the creature's Bulbapedia article. I imagine it'd be playing out of place songs like those classic pieces you hear in BioShock and Fallout-The Ink Spots, Ella Fitzgerald, even some Frank Sinatra here and there.

I tried to incorporate a set of circles about its mouth in a style mimicking both this attack many of the pictures showed Zubat using and the broadcast beacon symbols on classic radio station signs. It didn't turn out, so I went with what I had here.

Somehow it does find you after all.
