Do people normally blurt things out like this when their rent goes up, or was that the joke?

When it's hard to make ends meet anyway, an increased rent can be a complete nightmare.

This makes me think of my mother who raised 2 sons on her own and I still wonder how she managed to do all of that on her own.

Things like this make living with your parents very appealing. =P

outside taking care of a child. I think my siblings had the same problem with rent. I personally find it messed up to add more to someones rent unless they didn't pay full the last few times.

Rent going up is indeed a very shitty feeling x.x

It's only the second page, but it's already caught my attention and stirred up my emotions. Great job Rick, I like seeing this other, more serious side of you.

You'll figure out the tones, I'm sure.. but, I do like the comic so far!

I can totally relate to how Adrian feels, as I live in San Francisco. Freaking rent is a nightmare in this city and it's only getting worse.

The way the fingers help show the distress and emotional struggle really stands out. Proof you don't have to draw the entire character to get the point across. Also different camera angles work to heighten the drama.

I also take note of little things like chair design for those with tails. It's stuff I think about when doing any scene.

There are a lot of small details present. I know this took hours to do, and most people will spend less than 30 seconds on the page, but I sure do notice the work that went into it. Well done!

This is the problem for every creative media--spending hours on something most people will only examine briefly.
