Zhir-Rhi'an - Head of House Zhir, 2nd Circle, Mûr Zhæn
Here's Zhir-Chi'an's mother, Zhir-Rhi'an (from my novel, "Daggers of Darkness - Into the Black").
Zhir-Rhi'an is 55 standard Mûr Zhæn years old (that's 290 Std. Terran years), 7' 10" tall, and just starting to get some gray in her hair. In this view, she's sitting in her private office at home, where she conducts House business. Zhir-Rhi'an often comes across as being cold or distant, though her mate knows how to bring out her better qualities. Zhir-Rhi'an is (almost) all business, and is quite a shrewed and calculating person in that regard. If you've read the story, you'll get the impression that she spares little in the way of time and/or affections for her "lowly fifth child", Zhir-Chi'an (even though she's Third Daughter, and "out ranks" her two older brothers in the strong matrilinear hierarchy). However, Zhir-Chi'an ends up surprising nearly everyone in the family--especially her mother (her brother, Nhir-Khy'ta--who is closest to her--is the only one not surprised).
I drew this using a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, a 2B graphite stick, a white vinyl eraser (on the drapes), various blending and shading tools, on Georgia-Pacific "Everyday Copy & Print" paper.
Art, character(s), and story © 2013-2014 Ronald J. Lebeck (that's me).
