"Hey Rob, got a wee drop here for the both of us, old friend--the last batch of mead we made together."
This scene is from Chapter 40 of "Family Tails", where Ron shares the last of the mead he and Rob made together by pouring some onto Rob's grave.
I drew this using a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, a 6B graphite stick, various blending and shading tools, on Georgia-Pacific "Everyday Copy & Print" paper.

It was like you were in a rush to finish it I mean I'm not a writer so I may not know what I was talking about but you kind of skipped over so much of the story after The kids are born and you introduce characters that don't really have a lot to do with the story and the epilogue made the series sound like it was just a big trailer for up until they discovered the wolves had sentience.
Yeah, the story is 40 chapters in length as it is, and 410 pages in length (8.5"x11" page, 1" margins, 12-pt Times New Roman font). When I reformat the story to 6"x9" paperback size, add the character portraits and scenes, it's going to be many more pages than 410. I could have continued with the daily details of their lives all the way through, but I'd have to break the story up into volumes.
What I did (or tried to do) was establish the foundations of the relationships, provide an indication of the civil rights type of things they had to deal with, and give as much as I could about how much Ron, Lupina, and Rosie loved each other. The kid's lives will be told more fully in their own story. Characters such as Nunataq and Edgar Corvus (the first true G.E.L.F.) make their appearances when certain spiritual counsel / intervention is needed. There is a lot of allegory and symbolism in the story, particularly where the glade, Edgar, and references to the north are concerned. Other characters, such as when Maxine Ratte gets mentioned for example, are friends or associates, but not closely involved. I'm sure you have probably heard other people you know mention people that they know or are related to, but you never meet and/or interact with those people...yet you do know they exist and are important in some way to those you do know. There are a lot of things going on in the background that it would just be too much to write about, and would take the spotlight away from the central characters. In every play or movie there are other characters seen or who briefly appear, and may seem to have little to do with the story, but they do have a role, however minor it may be.

Well, again, the story is primarily about Ron, Lupina, and Rosie (hence the subtitle, "The Story of a Mixed Family in the Genetic Age", and not "...of Mixed Families..."), so I didn't go much into the lives of Rob's kids in this book. They will be in "Family Tails II - A Katt Among the Clouds" ("Katt" is Helga's maiden name, and "Cloud" is Rob's family name), where the focus will be on Rob's family (himself, Helga, Arthur, Sigrid, and Elric, plus his extended human family).
Rosie's son, Kenny James, is born late in the story (which due to the added stress on her body from having another child is the main reason why Rosie dies first), when his sisters are older teens/young adults. There will be much more about him and his siblings in their own story. Btw, Kenny James is the ancestoral namesake of both Admiral Kenneth James Donnelson and Captain James Daugherty in "Daggers of Darkness - Into the Black".
