Dr. Sumter's Creations

Here's the lab scene of Dr. Harvey Sumter's creations. I purposely kept them a bit vague for a couple of reasons: (1) to let folks use their own imagination, and (2) don't want to scare any sensitive folks into having nightmares. There is one little interesting thing in the picture that I'd like to see if anyone finds it... ;)
I drew this using a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, a 2B graphite stick, various blending and shading tools, on Georgia-Pacific "everyday Copy & Print" paper.Art, character(s), and story © 2013-2015 Ronald J. Lebeck (that's me).

Yeah, as I said above, I kept it "clean" for a couple of reasons, though there is also the fact that they're naked, and I'm trying to keep this story "clean". You can see the outlines of the armadillo-like armor, and also the spikes on the forearms and the "pit" on the snouts (sensory organs that detect heat as from pit vipers).
