Part 3 in my Sonnet Crown, following Leviathan <<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
The Dragon
Size is everything
Too large is too small
For fascination is all
In the things to which we cling.
Is it nostalgia,
This need for greater
Something alive and larger
Than bones lost in algae?
Why do we want this;
This past of giant wings
Fire born from flesh
Creatures lost in a mesh
Of imagined things
Creatures bring us bliss?
The Dragon
Size is everything
Too large is too small
For fascination is all
In the things to which we cling.
Is it nostalgia,
This need for greater
Something alive and larger
Than bones lost in algae?
Why do we want this;
This past of giant wings
Fire born from flesh
Creatures lost in a mesh
Of imagined things
Creatures bring us bliss?
