Part 2 of my Sonnet Crown, following The Kraken <<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
The Leviathan
Where the homes of the Kraken are.
In that same briny, slimy depth,
Swimming the ocean’s floor breadth,
The Leviathan roams far.
False or real, what man’s mind
Shows beneath black waves
Reveals a reality of the kind
Of horror to which they are slaves;
What if, man asks
There is a huge thing
Deep down, down below
This thought tasks
Him, the leech-thought burrows:
Size is everything
The Leviathan
Where the homes of the Kraken are.
In that same briny, slimy depth,
Swimming the ocean’s floor breadth,
The Leviathan roams far.
False or real, what man’s mind
Shows beneath black waves
Reveals a reality of the kind
Of horror to which they are slaves;
What if, man asks
There is a huge thing
Deep down, down below
This thought tasks
Him, the leech-thought burrows:
Size is everything
