It's right here ... Jack says it took "almost a year" for him to "convince" her to give up Gem, meaning that there's a LOT he's leaving out in his attempt to spin the story his way. Also, unless Jack is some kind of sorcerer who can invade people's dreams, this isn't exactly him; it's Gemma's subconscious's version of him. This image of Jack might be the spokesperson for the negative part of her mind that believes that no one can truly love her or want her around.
Or maybe real-life Jack is a dream-sorcerer after all. I have no idea. :)

i agree but it is natural to hate ospring that is not yours in the animal world males kill babies from competing males and while do dont condone being abusive to a child i can understand why someone would treat a child that wasn't theirs differently than their own and play the favorites game and i don't blame them
We're not animals, we're Humans, as such, what they do is not what we do, and animals cannot and never will compare to humans.
And that kind of behavior is unacceptable, regardless of the explanation for it. As humans, we should hold each and every occurence of abuse accountable. Additionally, favoritism towards children or against children within the family, even ones that are considered 'illegitimate', should be highly discouraged. Won't stop it from happening, humans are complex and weak in many aspects, but we should be moving beyond that kind of selfish thinking.
That's all I'm going to say here.

I'm not certain that there actually was a case of adultery or if she just gave in to her husband's persistent accusations even if they weren't true in am attempt to save her floundering marriage.
And I'm also not certain which part of this is the reason you are against adultery in the first place... the feeling of betrayal? The pregnancy? The demand that she abandon her child?

i'm no parent and i do agree he should never throw away gem but i do believe he will snap alot if he did that. people have stress limits and if i remember he worked really hard on his job day after day maybe he could not take it but yea bad choice for doing that to gamma
i hope gemma forgives him at the end and cures him i hope

I'm just gonna have to be honest and say this was written with too much sap. You've been a better writer than this, you've had me tearing up before, but on these "shy brother" and "confident brother" pages it's been making me cringe. I understand this is being told to Gem in her toddler form, so this type of simplistic writing is suppose to be an appeal to her regressed intelligence, I just know it could've been done better.
I think the problem lies in that you describe a more-than-necessary amount of the angst that the "shy brother" feels. You even had a page where the narrator openly says "that contraception wasn't guaranteed 100% effective". That's too blunt, that should be inferred through more simplistic language if you want to go for the story-book narrative as the exposition is revealed to Baby Gemma.
I hope my criticism is found to be constructive for future projects, Gem.

I saw this coming, though I think the shy one is lying to Gem about the abandonment. I think there's more to this story than he's letting on given the nightmarish area Gem's seen already (the burnt apartment, a destroyed Grub) I think Gem's mom refused to abandon Gem and this cause her uncle (zee-zee's and rasile's dad) to snap somehow.
just because the child wasn't his he wanted to give it away how horrible a child is a child who cares if its yours or not I say more the merrier kids are fun some times trouble but all together fun he shouldn't of given a child away just cause its his twin brothers child what the heck
I'm foreseeing one of two things given what we've seen of Gem's lil nightmare home way back. Either her mom changed her mind and things got violent or what he's saying at the end there isn't true. More what he wished was true. In fact given the tone I think that Gem's mom was telling the truth and this is him reading into the situation too much. That he perceives infidelity due to his own insecurities and that it eventually drove him to do something horrible. Also if this is his reasoning I question even more if the family life before hand was as idealistic as he's shown. This is treading into a very controlling and abusive personality type here. I can't help but wonder if he'd been making his family miserable and had been abusive.
Of course it's possible I'm reading too much into this and have seen way too much Law and Order. XD Still great stuff. Everytime you draw ZeeZee he just keeps getting more adorable. ^^

You know, I have no clue what to call you anymore, Star, Gem, Gemma, ToddlerGirl, or Samanatha or Sam (my cat's name, Sammi Jo, she gets called Sam!) Doesn't matter, I guess.
I kind of thought this is where it would end up, but I still have no clue as to what's going to happen next, to turn him into the 'monster' that Zee Zee and Racile, as well as Gem, is so afraid of.
Personally, I think that you did a great job putting it all on one page. It brings a lot of things together without having to wait forever to see what happened, and now, it's left you hanging on the cliff's edge to find out what happened to Gem, and what will happen further on down the line.
Good work, dear, just awesome story.

dna tests for identical twins actually cost thousands of pounds more than normal dna tests because a standard dna test examines a very small percentage of the actual dna...whereas for identical twins the dna needs to be examined in far far faaar more depth to determine differences as they're so genetically similar so for a family who was already struggling to make ends meet its just not a viable option.....not that ive done research or anything LOL
Sorry, shy brother, but that's not how it works. Things won't ever be the same again. You can't just ignore the problem and hope it goes away. The underlying stuff is all still there and will always be. If he can't get over what's happened already, Gem being elsewhere won't fix what's broken inside you.
