Santino's got no chill. How did he know about that incident, anyway? Hmm.

oh look another jew(?) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/17759263/ cause memes (there's also another version of the image in the desc)
I do remember the instance you're talking about but I'm not sure it's what he's talking about. Stronzi is italian slang for asshole so it would make sense but Junior was there for Gian in the end and he shouldn't be getting shit for it from Santino anyway cause he had no chose in the matter because their coach wanted to talk to him. So MAYBE it's a different situation?
No. I'm not talking about what happened in the shower since Jr was there for Gian. There is a single panel after Gian is called a faggot where he remembers back to when he was younger and being called a faggot and being beaten up by others. Jr obviously wasn't there since they only met at school and the flashback looks like he is a lot younger then.
Why would Santino be referring to an event before Junior and Gian met? It'd make more sense to refer to the shower scene since this whole thing is about their relationship, and that happened during it. I doubt Santino would rebuff Junior for something that happened before they met.

He's trying to point out I am sure that Junior is making an empty promise for 'always being there for him' since he wasn't there when Gian was attacked cause of his coach. He isn't always going to be around when Gian needs him, who's to say someone like Olly and Mondo will go after him like they did? What if something else preoccupies him like the coach calling him again or even family matters?
Or on the other hand it's telling Junior to make sure that Gian doesn't get so reckless since the Sex on the football field stunt could have indeed gotten him expelled if people found out. The shower thing may have had something to do with the earring that Gian got since it seems to be what triggered Olly and Mondo to attack him.
Santino is just being protective of his brother since he has been hurt in the past in reference to the story of Gian's first. It's easy to lash out at someone when you are only thinking out for someone's safety.
But really will probably have to wait to know the full meaning of what Santino is referring to.

Hm. Assuming it's referring to an incident recent enough that Jr could have reasonably been involved (i.e. the shower incident), even if it's not at all Jr's fault that he wasn't there for it, that kind of proves the point: he can't be there all the time. So encouraging any kind of risky behaviour could make it that much more likely that things will go wrong - possibly far more wrong than they had a chance to that time.
And yet Santino is out of line holding Mondo and Olly's attack against Junior. Junior was called by the coach to talk to him before Gian even entered the shower, before Olly noticed his earring, and before they attacked him. It's not like either Gian or Junior could have predicted that those two would assault Gian. And if he's trying to hold the incident from when Nathan was sent off to the other side of the country, that's also not fair to Junior since he wasn't even in that school to begin with.
But my very point is that Junior can't always be there, and that is a valid point for Santino to be making. Junior just said he wouldn't let anything happen to Gian, but already something very nearly did - if Junior had been held up for any longer than he had, things would have been bad.
He's making promises he can't necessarily keep, and Santino may just be calling him on it.
He's making promises he can't necessarily keep, and Santino may just be calling him on it.
It's still uncalled for. It doesn't matter. He's saying he wouldn't permit anything to happen. He hasn't broken that promise because whenever he WAS there, he hasn't let any harm come to Gian. Santino needs to back the fuck off and realize that there are lines you don't cross, and that he just crossed one. He'll be lucky if he doesn't get decked for that crap. There's a thing called being tactful, which Santino clearly hasn't learned. It doesn't matter if you're right; if you're a dick, you will suffer for it eventually.
Think about it for a moment. It's probably going to end up that Santino explains that the situation demonstrates that he is not always going to be there for him. Sure he saved him at the last second but what if he hadn't heard Gian? What if he had arrived just a bit later then when he did, Gian could have been seriously injured.
There will probably come a time when Junior may be away for something, maybe the coach calls for him again, maybe he has to go for tryouts for something, maybe even family matters that are urgent. Fact remains there will be cases when Gian will NOT always have Junior around and with the increasing recklessness like with having sex on the football grounds Santino is worried something bad may end up happening to Gian.
Santino is just being as he is cause he is very protective of his brother and is acting emotionally to the situation and probably bringing up the Olly and Mondo situations only heightened it.

There are ways for Santino to say that Junior cannot always be there with/for Gian. Guilting Junior for something he was not responsible for is not the way to go about it. Being protective of a sibling is one thing, being a dick is another. Santino was utterly tactless. He could have come up with fictional yet easily plausible scenarios instead of pretty much beating Junior over the head with a situation that caused both of them considerable emotional pain. That isn't fair to Junior at all, and it doesn't matter how Santino is feeling. Quite frankly I imagine that if Gian found out about Santino's actions he'd be pissed at Santino, because his relationship with Junior is, quite frankly, none of Santino's business. Period.
Santino is the guy's brother, bloody hell it's only natural that he is being protective of his brother and being concerned when Gian is doing shit like having sex on a football field that could have got him expelled if he got caught, Junior too so they were both putting their college educations at risk.
Plus I can understand that Santino is probably being this harsh out of emotional response after hearing about their little sexcapade adding onto the shower incident. Wether Gian is pissed or not at Santino whom is looking out for him is on him, not you.
But wait for the next page anyways and we'll see who is right on this matter.

There's being protective of a younger sibling and then there's being a putz to someone who doesn't necessarily deserve it. My younger brother's girlfriend cheated on him but he forgave her. Was I disappointed in her? Certainly. Did I beat her over the head with it? No. It wasn't my place to. He already forgave her and he was the injured party, not me. It wasn't my business to hang it over her head.
Santino is not in any way in the right to have done that. I was on his side until he pulled that card, because that was not his place to.

Look whatever you have your opinion, I have mine. I'll just let the comic speak for itself cause I don't think this debate is going anywhere. No this is not a cop out either, I am tired and I don't want to discuss this any further cause I have better things to do with my time.
How is getting an earring taking a risk, exactly? That is not exactly risky behavior. Not like he wanted Gian to get a Prince Albert. Either way, Santino is out of line; Gian, the one who was actually hurt, forgave Junior and said he still kept his promise. Santino has no business holding that over his head when the one who actually got hurt is not doing that.
I'm aware of the earring bit, but that itself was chosen by Gian as to where he wanted to have the earring; Junior himself didn't force him to put it in that ear, I'm sure.
As far as the older brother thing, I understand that myself; I'm an older brother and I try to look out for my younger brother. My brother was cheated on by his girlfriend some time ago, and she apologized profusely to him for it. He forgave her, and they're still going out. I don't hold that indiscretion, that instance of hurting him, against her, because it is not my place to. He was the one who was hurt, and he was able to forgive her. It's not my business to make her feel guilty. That's not fair to her or to my brother.

Except, as you'll recall, Junior was talking with the coach when Gian was being harassed, which means he has an excuse too. "Sorry, coach, it'll have to wait until after the shower because I literally can't let my boyfriend out of my sight."
Grasping for straws doesn't make Santino any less of an ass.
Grasping for straws doesn't make Santino any less of an ass.
It's cause Santino is calling Junior out on his 'I'll always be there for him' line cause that was a clear contradiction on what he just said even though he managed to get there at the last second. In the end I think what Santino is saying is that Junior won't always be there for him so Gian going on a bit of a reckless streak with his most recent antic being having sex on the school football field is not healthy for him and to keep him under control.
Santino is just looking after his brother and after the shower incident and hearing about Gian's 'gift', it's causing him some concern. Like Santino said, that little stunt could have gotten both Gian and Junior expelled if anyone found out.

If he is referring to the shower incident, Jr WAS there at the end, and how was he supposed to know gian would get jumped? I think gian must have told santino, or santino witnessed it. Maybe Gian has a problem with Jr? HE IS GONNA CHEAT ON HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANNA SEE GIAN AND SHAWN FUCK!
I believe he is just going to be calling Junior out on him saying that 'he will always be there' when that incident contradicts what he just said. Moreso I think he is just going to tell Junior to not let Gian get too reckless cause as he said, the whole public sex on the field thing could have got him or even both of them expelled.
Perhaps, but Junior can't be in too places at once. If he's just being a smartass and calling him out just because he said "I'll be there", then that's awfully dickish.
I can understand not approving of having sex in a public area since that is a very irresponsible act and all, but I don't believe that justifies what he said.
That's just me though.

Santino is just protective of his brother so he is being harsh cause he doesn't want to see anything bad happen to him. Sure the situation at the showers didn't end in tragedy but what if the next time he is confronted and Jr isn't around? He could end up in a bad situation.
Santino is just driving in the point that Jr needs to take more care to not let Gian get into any more risky situations like the fact that he made Jr have sex with him on the football field.

well gian seems to be the one that would giv eanythign do anything for the other thus even things that could get him in trouble aka public sex in field its ment to be jr job to keep him from doing somthign that wreckless like if your married or partnerd would you let your partner do somthign stupid or dangerus and go along with it? be more like a mentor type thing.
Kinda funny that Santino's getting on Jr's case about not being there for Gian while something potentially awful is about to be set in motion because Jr's not there and Santino happens to be the reason why~ I mean, I ain't knocking the impending drama or the irony (I think) of the situation or anything. But it IS kinda clever for a dramatic setup~ So good on you guys for setting that up, if that's the case~ >:3
It's not about being rebellious. I agreed with Santino up until that last crack of his which absolutely was not called for. If you actually bothered to read anything else I said on this page, you'd have known that.
Being a good older brother, fine. But him shaming Junior was unnecessary especially when that incident in the showers couldn't possibly have been predicted by anyone.

I'm "fanboying?"
I've been rather civil. I'm asking you to defend your opinion, and you respond with insults. Classy. Have fun, I'm not going to bother with you anymore.
What's entertaining is you telling me to let others to have their opinion, yet saying "I don't give a fuck about your opinion." Hypocrisy at its finest.

I don't know what all the fuss is. It's just a stupid comic. X3 I agree santio was a big prick in the last panel. Nothing protective about it, just a cheap shot for wasn't called for. It anyone did that to me, I'd punch them in the mouth and tell them to fuck off. This escalated a bit too much though. os it should just end here.
After spending time away from the keyboard, I've calmed down, and I see his point.
What it comes down, to me at any rate, is that Santino could have used hypothetical situations where Junior would not be able to be there to protect Gian. Hypothetical yet also plausible scenarios. What didn't sit right, however, is the fact that he threw a moment that was painful for both Gian and Junior right into Junior's face. As an older brother, I find it admirable that he wants to protect his younger brother. However, in the case of a person's, well, relationships, Santino doesn't really have a place to be interfering unless it's in very extreme circumstances such as trying to get Gian out of an emotionally or physically abusive relationship, which even Santino admits (on an implicit level) is not the case with Junior and Gian's relationship. Junior has come to Gian's rescue and has protected him.
There are other ways to bring to Junior's attention that he cannot be there all the time, more tactful ways. Santino didn't choose any of them, instead going for the option that was the most confrontational and least necessary. Shaming Gian's boyfriend when, quite frankly, he did nothing wrong is not a fair thing to do for either Gian or Junior. That's the basis of my argument.
There is being protective of a younger sibling, and then there is going too far. Santino had me in his corner until that last statement because, if he'd actually known both Gian and Junior and how their relationship has progressed, he'd realize that Gian didn't hold Junior accountable for Mondo and Olly's actions, only them, so why should Santino hold Junior accountable?

I can definitely see where Santino is coming from and I do agree that it was very reckless and irresponsible for Jr and Gian to have sex on the field and both of them should have known better. That being said, bringing up the incident in the shower (assuming that is what he is talking about) was harsh and even a bit out of line. I get that he is trying to make a point but, unintentionally or not, but by bringing it up it feels as though he is insinuating that Jr was at least partially to blame for the incident.
In the incident that Santino was referring to, Junior was there if only to be called by his coach, Santino probably doesn't have the full story so didn't know about that. However it could be that he did know about the coach thing and is only calling Junior out on him saying 'I will always be there' when that situation was a contradiction to what he just said.
Cause there will be times he can't always be there.
Cause there will be times he can't always be there.
On the surface, Santino is referring to the brawl in the shower.
The "catalyst" for the shower brawl was because Jr. insisted that Gian get his ear pierced, and the right ear no less (the gay one). Not the left, not both, but just 1 on the right ear. This essentially "outed" Gian to everyone who paid attention.
While it's not Jr. nor Gian's fault that the fight started, it was Jr.'s idea to get the piercing.
Santino considers this to be Strike 1.
Strike 2 occurred when Jr. allowed Gian to have sex on the football field. Gian would not have done that if not for Jr.'s fetish for it. Instead of saying, "This is a bad idea, Gian," he went with it.
Santino is very worried about his brother (who is rather careless to begin with), so naturally he would tell Jr. to start managing the relationship better and think more about Gian's safety and security, not just their desires and definitely to avoid developing an "us against the world" mentality. Further on the point of Gian being careless, he was more or less flirting with Sean without realizing it, hence why Sean reciprocated what he thought were advances.
Whether you agree with Santino or not, he definitely has a point. While the fight in the locker room may have been unavoidable, the sex on the football field was 100% avoidable, and Jr. is to blame for not reigning in the reckless behavior.

I agree 100%, but for strike 3 it could get really nasty. It depends on how it is synced for what sean is doing to gin and the confrontation with san and Jr and if the timing is right sean and san could win the battle and a certain someone will have there heart broken. Depends on how you look at it.
