Time for another part of the story so here goes part 3.
Eric then took off after saying goodbye to his parents and went on and arrived on Route 101 really soon after departing his parent’s house where he faced his first wild pokemon. A Rattata that Ralts easily beat it with one Magical Leaf. After the battle Ralts already started to glow for an instant and changing form and when the glowing ended, she had changed form to a Kirlia. Kirlia looked at her for a moment and Eric was wondering if she was still able to talk so he asked out loud: “Are you okay?” Kirlia turned toward Eric and: “I did evolve into Kirlia!!! I’m on the last step before becoming a Gardevoir!!! I’m so happy Master!” Eric was happy that Kirlia was still able to talk the Human tongue.
The rest of the voyage toward Harrenby passed without any other incident Eric made sure to avoid the tall grass until reaching the neighboring town. Where he passed in front of the only building that was obviously the professor Estelle Lab, he decided to go directly to the Pokemon Center though. After entering the Pokemon Center, Eric remarked that nurse Joy was there and, asked her how she was able to get from Newsoundsburgh to Harrenby without crossing him on the road to here. Nurse Joy looked at the young trainer that asked her that, and she explained that Eric was probably referring to her younger sister, Joy, who is the Pokemon Nurse of Newsoundsburgh. After Eric gave Kirlia to Nurse Joy to heal it completely. He took it back and went to professor Estelle Lab directly.
Arrived there, Eric entered the door to the Lab and arrived straight in front of professor Estelle, a middle aged woman in a long white scientist coat. Professor Estelle was working on checking things with the three starter pokemon every trainer had to choose from in the Renato Region. A red salamander, another that looked like a potted plant and a small siren looking one. Eric looked those three little pokemon with curiosity. When Professor Estelle remarked him, she invited him to join her. Eric got closer while asking if those where the starting pokemon every trainer from Renato had to choose from. Professor Estelle said a yes, as she started presenting the three starter to Eric. She first presented the potted plant looking one, “This is Manadrake, the Grass type pokemon starter…”. Next she got to the red salamander; “…this one is Manderspark, the Fire type pokemon starter…”. Finishing with the small one that was left; “…and this one is Shuixiao, the Water type pokemon starter.” Estelle turned toward Eric and asked him if he was a new trainer. Eric said that he was indeed a new trainer from Newsoundsburgh, but that he already had a pokemon. Joining the action to what he said, he made Kirlia come out of her Wish Ball. Estelle surprised that a new trainer already had a pokemon told Eric that even if he had over a hundred different pokemon she would give him a starter no matter what. So Eric had to choose and he wasn’t sure which one to take. He asked Professor Estelle if he could try all three first to make sure he would make the right choice. Estelle told him that it was uncommon but she accepted in the condition that she would choose the adversary Eric would have to face.
Eric wasn’t sure of who he would have to face but accepted. Professor Estelle then brought him and all three starters in the Lab’s fighting ground where the arena was built. There was numbers of assistants in there testing lots of different pokemons attacks. Eric was sure one of them was his opponent but he wasn’t prepared to what came up next. Professor Estelle asked Eric to stay in place on one side as she would go get his opponent she thought of for him. Eric stayed there for a moment waiting for that opponent to arrive, he watched all of those lab assistants fighting each others with different pokemons to learn more about the effectiveness of type attacks against other type. He then heard the door from where Estelle went out of the room open again and there was now two silhouettes in the door, one was obviously Estelle but the other was slightly shorter than him as he judged. Both silhouette entered and Eric saw who was the other one. A young looking teenager girl about the same age as Eric with long black hair and emerald eyes, wearing a white tshirt and a black and white skirt. Estelle introduced her as Emily, the Harrenby most amazing and talented rookie performer. Emily turned toward Eric and said in a clear melodious voice: “So… you’re my opponent? Guess it’ll be an easy win again then…” Estelle then explained the rules of the combat. Both trainer was forbidden to use their actual pokemons as Emily had already 3 and Eric had his Kirlia. Both would have to use a starting trainer pokemon and the combat would be a best out of 3 duel. Eric would need to use a different starter each time but Emily could use any other available like she wanted. After explaining it all, Estelle then told Eric to choose is first one he would like to test. Eric told that he would like to test Manderspark… Estelle gave Eric Manderspark’s pokeball and Eric make it come out. Then Estelle asked Emily who she would like and she said that she would use Manadrake. As Estelle gave Manadrake’s pokeball to Emily, Eric was thinking *A Fire type against a Grass type, I’m sure to win.* Adding out loud a: “You want to give me a head start? I’m sure to win with a Fire type against a Grass type.” Emily answered with a: “Don’t think like that or you might lose before the fight even start.”
