You know well enough to do your flashes.
And by the time you've finished an animation or two, you'll know. Nothing like a few hundred drawings to get you well on your way. XD
You could also get the Vilppu Drawing Manual: http://www.vilppustore.com/manuals.htm
Also, nothing in the Animator's Survival Kit is specifically related to drawing. You could do the same things with a clay puppet or cut out paper, or a computer model.

Play makes perfect! (Because practice is boring)
Talent is merely the tendency to play, rather than work, at a particular subject.

I mean, have you ever run into a "talented" artist that hadn't (at least initially) been drawing stuff forever for the enjoyment of it? :D

If I am right on the money, howcome I'm broke all the time? D:
Also, pleeeeaase don't turn this into a "You're wrong, he's right" sorta thing, I want people to play with this out of a tinkering sense of curiosity or fun, not out of some holdover neurotic guilt about being "correct or else". ^^;

This is coming along awesomely. Two things I'd noticed though. First, you could have the citra catching the heart go down lower and harder, because the sense of weight in the catch is pretty much the same as it is in as walking with the heart. Also the part where he skitters around trying to get under the heart comes too fast and it's bit hard to make out what's happening. I'm thinking have the citra look up eariler (on "say" perhaps) and but more shifting of momentum in the weight as the citra moves into position and maybe even slow him down a bit.
Otherwise I dig. ^^
