There are two inspirations for a chunk of today's episode, both from Buster Keaton: Seven Chances and Cops, both from the early to mid 1920s. Read this episode, and you'll see what I mean. The notion presented would be enough to chill the blood of Roland Sartoriusson and Mrs. Fletcher, alike.

Thanks to a well-meaning and very eager English Lit. professor in my undergrad days who happened to do a film history class my freshman year. Even got to see the stuff in original format, projector and everything. :)
I credit him with developing most of my better tastes in media, heh.

I enjoy the relative simplicity of Cops, and it's the first one of his I ever saw so it colors my perceptions of his work. I'd have to say Sherlock, Jr. over The General though. I should rewatch those, been a long time.
We didn't get to see much comedy after Keaton's work, in that class. The talkies were all serious business with Dr. Brown. I can hardly complain about seeing Casablanca and Citizen Kane in original form, although the old reels were losing a bit of quality by then.
