I bought the art book, and the original movie was going to be all the predators had collars on to keep them from going feral.

It is. It's absolutely gorgeous. It also tells a lot about the world and everything in it. Prey made up 90% of the city and they forced the predators to wear shock collars. (Then in another rendition of the movie they were going to make Nick and Judy spies.) Highly recommend the book!! It's great!!

Yeah, but that's why the predators were going to rise up. They ditched that idea and were going to go with a spy movie, but threw that out too. Get the book there are a lot of plots and pics in it. (A lot of characters in collars and stuff, but also some really nice character pics!)

How do you rise up when you are wearing a shock collar?

They had some sympathizers who were herbivores. The herbivore sympathizers helped them get the collars off and then they were going to start going insane and attacking.

Man, really glad that idea was scrapped. Would've been a bit too inhumane for Disney.

a bit too dark for kids obviously, but still interesting nonetheless. I kind of like the dark and grim aspect. But at the end of the day, nobody in the audience would be supporting the city or the attempts to save it.

Would have been more dystopian than utopian, yeah.

There are some who say that utopias are the worst kind of dystopias, for they force their inhabitants to act in ways that people normally do not, such that the people gladly and willingly comply without argument.

This comic sounds promising!

I love the movie the way it is but the previous plot was dark and interesting too. In the end it's so much more involving with Judy as the protagonist than it would have been with Nick.

The original script for the movie. I can why the audience won't root for a fictional society like this and that's why they changed it, but it's still interesting to watch.

As glad as I am they changed the story to its current iteration, one has to admit the original (zoo)dystopian concept has a wealth of story potential in spite of its darker tone.

No that isn't bad they have a good chemistry and they clearly care for each other. At the same time I, personally, prefer them being close friends who communicate well and tell each other their problems. There are so few really close friends of the opposite gender pairs in stories and I feel in this case their friendship is a more powerful narrative force.

Heh, fun fact. I have discovered that there actually is such a thing as a Zootopia brand canine training color. But it vibrates instead of using shocks. Maybe that's what they put on the kits and cubs.

While I'm loving this and all, at the same time, I'm kinda not liking it, simply for the fact I don't want bad feelings associated with the movie i've grown to really like, the movie is quite upbeat and vibrant.

Though interesting, I think everyone agrees that it was changed for the better. It was certainly less dark and felt more like a Disney film in the end. Still, poor Nick for having such a nightmare.

I would have liked to see a comic about the original story based on the plot. The shock collars and amusement park seem morbid. I like.
