And for the nixed CTV ad for the adultery site:

The exact quote is "Truth is stranger than SCIENECE fiction" first coined by Archie Campbell on the old Hee Haw TV program several decades ago, but it's still true.
I saw the rejected PETA ad, it wasn't as raunchy as it was just plain STUPID.
Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with being a vegetarian, but these PETA commercials are one step beyond silly.
As for the "cheating" ad, who needs an agency to facilitite THAT? Plenty of spouses are unfaithful to each other without any help from a "cheating" company, just watch a few episodes of "Cheaters" on TV.

I've heard opinions that PETA probably expected the ad to be axed and they'd get lots of publicity out of that alone (without all the expense).
I've also heard that not all the ad time for this year's Superbowl was sold at the asking price.
I hadn't heard of the CTV situation, though.

Of course that was PETA's goal, they only do this every year.
Frankly, if it were up to me, I'd call their bluff and tell them to fork over the cash.
Either they can't, in which case they neither get the ad nor can they cry censorship. Or they can, and they get an ineffective ad and less money to give to terrorists.

CTV aired no new commercials for the Super Bowl at all...they forced Canadians to watch commercials that had already been out for years, and also over-rode the NBC signals to stop the U.S. commercials from crossing the border. CTV wanted 100% of Canadian TV viewers to watch their feed, and not by choice.
Look up 'simultaneous substitution' on Wiki to see what I mean, and you'll understand why I don't think Canadian advertisers should be allowed to run ads in the Super Bowl at all. >:(
