Welcome to Frappuchinos! Now Serving: Jinxed
Four more until the 100th Frappuchino!

Even when Venti learned of Muscle and Fur's release date, he kept his involvement in the magazine quiet. Not that he didn't want to talk about it--far from it! He simply did not want to jinx this moment. Granted, he mentioned it to Ted after the shoot, who promised he would buy a copy only if Venti would sign it, which the jackal agreed to do so. But for the most part, he didn't breathe a word. Otis remained mum on the subject as well, almost as if there was an unspoken bond to not approach the topic. Maybe the otter felt like mentioning it would jinx his chances as well.
The tiger who orchestrated the entire deal assured them that everything would be all right, and Venti thanked him for the opportunity. "It was an experience, Joseph," the jackal said to him over the phone one day. "I'll always treasure it, even if my photos don't make the cut."
"They'll make the cut, Venti," Joesph replied, the eagerness in his voice making Venti smile despite his feelings were opposite that of the tiger. "Your look is too exotic to turn down."
"So you keep on telling me, Joe." And that was the last he'd heard from the tiger up until the day before the magazine would be released. When he checked his voicemail, he found a total of five messages on his cell. One was from his agent, the rest were from Joe.
"Venti, call me. I'm talking to our lawyers right now." That one was from his agent. He suspected he knew what she was talking about.
"Venti, I had no clue. They never told me anything. We're canning Alex for this. He was totally unprofessional."
Followed by:
"Venti? This is not your fault. You didn't do anything wrong."
Followed by more of the same. It wasn't his fault. Alexander was unprofessional. Oh, there were more details in the later messages. Venti was sure that Alex's actions would haunt him for a long time, but he didn't feel any sort of smug satisfaction.
All that effort, wasted.
He wasn't going to be in the magazine.
That hurt him more than he suspected.
