Welcome to Frappuchinos! Now Serving: Affection Competition
Singa looked over at Daniel from across the table. "Are you all right?" he asked softly as he leaned forward.
Daniel nodded, frowning slightly. "I'm fine, why do you ask?"
"You haven't touched your salad," Singa replied, pointing the tines of his fork at the plate filled with leafy greens, red Roma tomatoes, and sprinkled with the light vinaigrette dressing. It was a bit too simple for Singa's tastes, but it was one of many reasons why he adored the reindeer.
"I guess I have something on my mind I've been meaning to ask you."
"And what is that?" Singa wondered what could be occupying Daniel's thoughts. Was he thinking of asking to go steady with him? He hadn't been courted like that in years, and the thought honestly filled him with a bit of giddiness.
"Did you and Venti ever date?"
Singa's giddiness evaporated like the morning dew under a hot sun. So much for courtship. "Yes."
"That explains why you talk about him." Daniel sounded a touch annoyed. "I thought it was weird, even if he was your best friend."
Singa looked away, unable to meet Daniel's stern gaze. "I care about him very much."
"Now everything makes sense. You still love him, don't you?"
Singa found his way back to Daniel's gaze. He couldn't and wouldn't talk his way out of this by lying to the reindeer or especially to himself. "Yes."
"I can't--won't--go on like this, Singa. I need to know if I'm going to be competing with Venti for your affection." Daniel held up a hand before the cheetah could open his muzzle. "Just answer the question."
Singa hadn't realized he was going to be argumentative until Daniel cut him off. "I don't think you have to, Daniel."
Daniel immediately smiled, the corners of his muzzle reaching his cheeks. "Okay, I believe you."
Singa blinked. "Just like that?"
Daniel nodded, brushing his bangs out of his eyes. "Just like that."
Singa, half-heartedly poked his salmon with his fork. "That kind of trust could be abused," he murmured.
"Then I trust you won't abuse it."
That's something Venti would say, Singa thought, and immediately felt guilty for thinking it.

My sister does this. She likes to think about her first serious relationship and compare it sometimes with her current marriage.
It doesn't hurt to think, but once you act upon it, or let it grow into you as a part of yourself, then you're in deep shit. It's not uncommon to remember, or think about the previous man, because we all like to compare our past to our present.
I think Singa will win this, and I think that Art will also deal with the situation at hand differently with Venti.

Uuuh... You serious? I think I still have a lot to learn still. I got a lot of advice from my mom and family about relationships, I guess. I dunno.
I might've been a dumbass for my whole life. I still act impulsively, through sexual reproductive organs, and I've never been in a true real life boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.

Daniel is climbing my list of favorite characters, and surprisingly he's dragging Singa with him!
God Greg i wish more people in the world acted like your characters sometime, it'd be alot more surprises, and a lot less stressful situations...Now get back to the cat with the dreads and that lump o muscles with the cool hair, cliffhangers aren't fun :(

Eh I feel that Singa is actually trying to get over Venti, but he still has all of those feeling for him that he needs to sort out. Daniel seems like he really wants to give Singa a chance. These two are rapidaly becoming some of my favorate character's of yours greg, now I can only wonder what your going to do to them...
