Ouch. Damn. That's harsh but at the same time it speaks well of Emery that he doesn't want to hurt his ex-wife. And yet I am willing to bet that if she somehow found out, she'd probably be okay with it. Hell, maybe she already knows about it but won't say it because she probably feels that it's Emery's right to decide when or if he comes out to her. But that's just speculation on my part.
As for how Andy will take this, whether he'll give Emery a chance or if he feels he needs space to sort this revelation out because Emery should have at least told him to prevent awkward situations like this, or if he doesn't want anything else to do with Emery, well, guess we'll see soon.

Those are excellent points.
Besides, there's Emery's POV to consider. Just because divorce is as common as the air we breathe doesn't mean it's easy to talk about, no matter how many years have gone by. I mean, how realistic
Granted, he told Andy how he felt before he took the job, but since they technically haven't officially dated, there was never really an opportunity to mention this. I mean if you just met someone are you going to say, "Oh, by the way, you should know about my ex." Really, give someone time to talk about it.
This is also a generational thing. We have to remember a few decades back, no one could even say the word "Homosexual" or "Gay" in so-called "Polite conversation." Not everyone was brave enough to just put it all out there.
Also, there are folks in mixed-orientation marriages where a spouse or spouses are married to their opposite gender but stay married for various reasons.
Things aren't black and white on this topic.
I'm not at all saying Andy shouldn't be hurt or feel slighted, I would be. But I know just from my own life that we all say and do things we don't mean.

I have one, which is probably where that came from, writing wise haha
Plus, their situation is a little unusual from the average split. It was a misalignment of sexuality, not of compatibility. Emery is a bit more of a softie, so dropping the pet names doesn't come naturally to him with her =]

That's what I was thinking! I'm also a big softie and hopeless romantic so I can relate in that regard.
Side note: I've got a fellow gay friends who I call "Darling" and they call me "Hon/Hun" but we're not dating. They just be terms of endearment without insinuating a romantic and/or sexual relationship.

Judging from the expression on Andy's face in the last panel, it seems as though he's going to need some space to think things through. That was a HEAVY situation he was just in, and I'm sure there's a part of him that doesn't trust Emery right now. (Who could blame him?)
I'm also willing to almost redeem Emery if he realizes what just happened and recognizes the feelings Andy may be having, spoken or not. The best thing that can happen at this point is for Emery to offer an "out" to Andy (such as an option to take the rest of the day off of work). This is a real tightrope Emery has gotten himself on, and how he navigates his way on it will play a large part in what happens to the two of them in the near future.

Indeed. I see it from both sides. I can see me being Andy in his position, though I'd be a LOT more angry. LOL
But I also can see Emery's side (from what we've seen thus far), and as I get older I realize how things aren't as binary as we sometimes want them to be in life.
So, I'm kind of torn here.

I feel so sorry for Andy he had his heart in it and his boner too ;P but now he looks so confused. I hope he chooses the right one, we all agree he deserves to have a man who loves him and cares.
Follow your heart and mind ANDY!!!
Or maybe I'll just kidnap him XP he is so cute when he gets worked up and when he's so shy <3

Seems like a reasonable explanation to me. It definitely fits. Perhaps wanting to do this at work was not the wisest idea, but he probably knew that anyway. It's the steaks that make it exciting. Poor Andy, he looks like he realized just how close he was to shoving both his feet in his mouth. I recall his friend telling him that Emery might end up being a good growing experience for him, and I think that prediction is certainly coming to pass in this case. He almost unloaded unfairly on someone before getting all the facts. Emery is being quite patient as I frankly expected he would be. It would be a good lesson for Andy to learn because it can diffuse conflict before it begins. On the other paw, based on what the boss man's saying, it appears that she may have walked in on him in the middle of a tryst before. If so, this was definitely not a good idea to here if it could possibly reopen an old wound. On the third paw, it is his business, and perhaps Sarah should not just barge in unannounced like that. What if he'd been in a meeting or conference call?
I'm left with more questions, but it does whet the appetite.
I hope people will soften their attitudes towards Emery. So many seem to want to dislike him, yet we hardly know anything about any of the characters really. For my part, I wonder if this story really is a love triangle at all. It looks more like a story of personal growth to me, and I wouldn't be surprised if Andy didn't get together with any of them in the end. Emery is sweet but in a very different position in life that would make anything more than a good friendship unlikely and difficult. With Cooper, there are many years of animosity on Andy's part and a general lack of trust that would be hard to bridge. I don't see how Andy at least could really have any secret feelings for Cooper as some speculate. Lust, yes, but that's not love. I also don't think either of them is mature enough to actually have a healthy relationship at this point, not with each other anyway. Of course, those are merely my impressions based on what I've seen. I'll reserve any really concrete assessment until I have a lot more details.
I'm having a lot of fun! I love the ear work on them. It's cute as it is subtle and informative. :)

I gotta be honest and say that I think Andy should be with Cooper, but I just also feel badly because I like Emery so much. Still, Cooper, though I haven't really seen all that much of him, is a developing character. Probably gay. And for whatever reason, that picture of them at camp together made me think that Cooper's had a crush on him.
The story itself is positively WONDERFUL. The art is just fantastic, too, and fits well with telling this wonderfully involved story. I genuinely care about these characters. You've created a compelling story with love, angst, anger, rivalry, desire, nostalgia--and it's such joy to read whenever it's updated.
I can't wait for the next update, and I'm positively thrilled by the story. That your story and art is able to inspire such debate must make you very glad. Be proud of your work, just keep it up! :)

I don't have patreon, but I already got the sense that Cooper has a lot more going on with him than meets the eye. He oddly seems to have a sensitive side. It's a testament to your skill and talent that you subtly planted that idea in my mind.
Just whatever you do: the best advice I can think to give ANY artist is this: Stay true to YOUR vision.

This doesn't really make sense. Before all the smooching he was doing legitimate work for the guy. Would it have been that bad for his ex wife to see an employee doing work around the office?
If they were still together and have had past past incidences with him cheating on her with cute younger guys then i might understand the sudden freak out about not wanting her seeing the two of them in the same room but that all seemed like overkill for no reason at all.
