<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>Our story starts in the town of Honath.
A coastal city on the west coast of the bay of Ryndar, Honath enjoys import goods from many of the cities on the Aschae sea, fertile farmland where the jungles have been cut back, tropical fruits from the lush surrounding jungle, and a very picturesque view of Quas mountain and the Quas falls. Honath is near the borders of the Sand Sea, where some great cataclysm from an ancient war broke the land by raising huge cliffs, a climate changing event that caused the drier lands of the Sand Sea.
As is often the case where circumstantial boundaries alter the land, they also alter the culture that peoples those lands. In Honath, and the other nearby temperate and tropical lands, the driving force for culture and civilization was the rabbits. Fast breeding and quick to band together, rabbits form much of society in those lands today, holding high rank in the governments and forming much of the religion. In those civilizations that sprung up in the Sand Sea, the nomadic Anubian people are the principal guiding culture, with their own way of life, religion and governments.
This "border land" mentality causes Honathians to have a very interesting sociological outlook to their neighbors. While Currently there is peace with Cerr, At'Lor and the other nearby Anubian dominated societies, there have been wars in the past and likely will be again. However, it is difficult to remain prejudiced against your neighbors when they are selling you exotic spices, guiding your caravans through the deserts and marrying your cousin.
The nearby Delcery jungle offers up more then just delicacies. Many dangers await the traveler and adventurers who might delve into it's verdant depths. Strange aggressive creatures, wild and sometimes monstrous lurk deep within the thicker rainforrests. Lost temples and ancient cities hide both treasures and lost civilizations, and in the swampier areas, there are rumors that the ancient God Tezep lurks, cursing those who infringe on his lands with devolutionary therianthropy, a dread infliction that makes one change on the new moon into a beast from prehistoric past.
And there are always rumors that the dark God Riss-Da'an and it's undead spawn have been seen skulking about some of the more ancient ruins...

Chances are, anytime you run into an undead in Evara, you will be meeting Riss-Da'an. Fortunately, with his attention split between so many foci, he rarely pays enough attention to those encountering him to do more then automatically try to consume them so they join him. *ahem* "You will be assimilated!" Okay. Consumed. Whatever.
Heheheh. Vampires are the living who have given their souls over to Riss-Da'an in exchange for power. They create thralls for him by devouring the life of the living. I hadn't considered liches yet. I shall have to come up with something.
Tezep is the ancient god of madness, fire and swamps.

All the gods a real in a physical way in Evara, much like the ancient Roman gods of mythology. They very much interact with the mortals of the plane.
