The summer is over. The weather has grown sour and chilly. You hurry down the stairs to the little cellar restaurant and escape the rain as you duck inside. It is warm here. The lights are dim. You hear people talking, but their voices are hushed, as if they're trading secrets over their tables. One has grabbed his companion's hand and is massaging it with a thumb. One raises a glass in a toast for two. One blushes and looks away at a compliment.
Then he's there. Your date for the night. His smile widens as he sees you. You've dressed up tonight, and he's noticing. Cocking his head to the side, he grins and winks. The table is ready. All he's waiting for is you. It's going to be a lovely evening.
