Yeah. His did told him he openly hates gays and doesn't want his son to be gay.
He already is a dead beat dad, alchoholic and not showing his son any love. But if he knew Cooper was gay, he'd probably disown him or worse, beat him and stuff.
In the end, all Cooper wants is to be loved by his father and Andy

I don't know. But even if, that wouldn't change anything. Cooper was raised to believe, being gay is wrong and his father hated homosexual and anyone, that wasn't straight.
And Cooper learned from that. This believe is burned into his mind. He was raised like that.
And even thought (if his father is dead) he is an adult now and free to do and love who he wants, he won't admit that he is gay.
His father didn't love him. But admitting he is gay, would make his father hate him.
He wants his father's approvement. And he can't get it, if he isn't what his father wanted him to be.
A heterosexual man, who has a good job and girlfriend/wife and have children.
Even if his father was dead, Cooper would still try to be like his dad wanted him to be. Even if it means to lie to himself

This page in particular is incredibly relateable. I've been there many times before and his expressions are so genuine.

Gary the bartender. He's one hot dog.
I usually tend to have a thing for lesser known characters.

This is one of my favourite pages. The feels radiating off of it.. ooh. Coop just can't find the words to text to Andy. He wants his best friend back so bad! The repressed feelings he must have when he closes his eyes and deletes everything. He's not even able to muster up a simple "Hey."
