I've got a few anatomy-snob serg friends, so off the top of my head I can think of: No boobs, prehensile clitoral hood is still yes. 4 fingers, no forehead.

I did not in any way want to offend the artist who made this reference, but with this style of drawing it is very difficult to understand the exact forms of the object in volume. For the 3D model, it is obvious that I need a reference that could show me the volume.

Yup..... if anyone can help, I'd expect Salireths can. Though as mentioned, original sergals are definitely the best looking. Everything else was sort of like Beastwars Transmetals. More isn't always better :-P

Yeah. I think the proper anatomical term would be to say that sergals have no stop, but that would create confusion of its own.

No forehead to speak of! Tip of nose to back of head is one whole bridge/snoot! Very wedge shaped too.

Mick39, part of the creative team for sergals, has a lot of references and they have a genitalia reference behind a paywall.
I'm unsure if sergal females ever officially had boobs but picking through mick39's gallery should give you what you need since they're one of the official people who made the species!

In fact, the whole point is that I'm doing this model so that other people can use it for their projects, so, on the one hand, I do not want them to be like: "This model is too not canon so I will not use it.", on the other hand, I do not want them to be like: "This model is too canon so I will not use it.". So I'm not very sure what to do.

You're kinda damned if you do, damned if you don't. To be honest though it'd be safer to err on the side of caution and go for more canon than not based on what is given.

I agree with Asae, you're probably better off going for a more canon look! If someone wants it to have boobs, they can pay you to make it!

In this situation I would suggest making variants. Boobs, no boobs, hood, and no hood to allow people to mix and match. It's more work, but it means you'll satisfy most desires.

Stick with cannon!

The canon changes all of the time. Pretty much, there's not much you can do.to be accurate with it.

Just do what most sergs do, pick which of the recent (or your current "liked" one) and go from there.

You could also mix/match whatever features lend best to some of the scenarios you have in mind, that includes pulling stuff just from the current and former canonical end of things as well as branching off into alternate stuff. That said, the prehensile clitoral hood attribute seems really fun to have around for some macro/micro scenarios, and is kind of underused in that role. (a friend in the macro community on FA pointed this out a few years back)

There's also distinctions between northern and southern sergals, including size and coloration, but I forget the specifics offhand.

On a side note, I'm not sure herm sergals are canon at all, but if not, it seems kind of fitting to give them boobs ... have all of the above. (though I don't think I've seen a herm sergal character design that also retained the prehensile clitoral hood)

Darn, come to think of it I don't remember if male sergals even have external testes ... though I want to say no given they're bird/reptile-like. (not relevant for a female sergal, of course XD )

I never researched much honestly, but some things are hard to forget. There's a clit thing going on that can actually move around and presumably is meant to grasp around a male's shaft during intercourse.

If memory serves, female sergal do not have boobs, but they DO still have that prehensile clitoral hood.

They look feminine but lack real boobs the clitoris hood and others as described above, but not everyone used them like that so it can go either way for the vagina, anyways cant wait to see it being a sergal myself

The book cover was the only thing that is difficult to do in this. And there it is written about the sergals obviously.

yes on the Clitoral hood, some folks did not like em and drawn the norm Clit which is there opinion, but ya sergals do have em in a Cannon way, as for the Boobs, yes, there more Angled however i dunno if the nips shows however, sadly everyone is on the ball for the boobs part of serGALS. possibly look up the creator of the sergals for some more info.

Well, for the most part sergal anatomy went through some changes for a short time. They ended up having boobs and the clitoral hood was removed for a couple years. But those changes have since been reverted. Female sergs have their hood back and they are back to being boobless. Mick-sama even uploaded the new official ref to her gallery.

Woooooo a model for me to play with! Also, don't look at my stuff for reference cause I don't follow cannon that closely, but generally speaking the modern consensus is no boobs, prehensile clit, four fingers, and lots of angular shapes.

Don't really have much to add beyond what others have said, but good luck! Sergals seem like a pretty tricky species to model given all of their anatomy quirks, and it's definitely one I'm looking forward to seeing.

One with Boobs. One with out. I found many who follow lore as well their own interpritations find ground when both such Canon/Non-Canon versions of their Serg chars are found.

Still same basic character but different anatomical differences.

I like boobs but that's just personal preference.

Just draw them the way you want, Sergals amoung all people who use them as sonas have their own tweaks to them. if you have to take such careful steps not to offend the sergal community it might not be worth making 3d model of one.

Sergals have extremely prevalent 3d models on second life that are wildly popular. Perhaps some shots of those could help you.

You should probably just make it how you think it looks best.

I have been treating it as user preference. Mick draws them in both the new and old ways.

I guess it doesn't matter that hard. But I would suggest to use specific SL avatar as reference. I would use at least.
