Celene could not remember why she was here or even where here was. The halls around her seemed to stretch on forever and when she eventually found an end they split off further into more seemingly endless corridors. The only thought in the wolf's mind was that she had to help him, she had to help the Star and if she failed to, everyone would die.
Her thoughts didn't specify who everyone was. Were her family and friends in danger? Perhaps there were a large group of civilians in trouble?
In the distance footsteps echoed. She spun around, breath caught in her throat. She did not dare call out to anyone for fear of attracting danger but she could swear in the distance, in the depths of the hall's own darkness there was a faint blue glow. Haunting eyes hunting for prey. She had to run.
So she did. It felt like she was running for hours. Was there ever an end to this place?
It was then, lost in the halls that she had remembered what she had been doing. It felt like just moments ago she had left DSI where she had spoken to Erica Decker about her employee, Chris Jones.
She was clearly not there now, unless a security company had a hidden labyrinth underneath its building. She still could not recall how she had got her.
Just then she rounded the corner, and that was when she saw her. The grey lynx, a blue black suit tight against her frame, raven hair and blue eyes that seemed more intense than any fire in the universe.
Celene's arms were clamped against her sides, her legs brought together and with a simple gesture from the lynx the grey wolf lifted off the ground. She did her best to stare bravely back at the lynx, but she could not deny the painful rapid beats of her own heart. She wanted to run, but there was nothing that she could do, she couldn't move.
"Are your lost young lady?"
As the lynx spoke there was a piercing scream in her mind, pain that echoed throughout her entire being. It was like something was carving through her body in search of something.
Actions like yours have consequences, Celene. You would do best to crawl back to your life and stay there."
