Standing to protect their esteemed majesty the Paragon is a legion of disciplined and firmly-trained. Hand picked by specialist recruiters and provided with some of the finest armour and weapons, the Blood Dragon Guard hold the most fearsome reputation, for rumour has it they fight in pairs. The bond between members of a pair is so strong that should one fall, the other would fall into a berserker fury that can only be reined in by senior members of the guard.
Most citizens and nobility will see the ceremonial attire of the legion - a gilded steel cuirass worn over a greatcoat of a fiery red and a silvered helmet dispalying horns, a great orange crest (the colour of the imperial royal family) and a mask depicting a draconic face. Underneath this ceremony and decoration however, the outfit is somewhat more practical. A ballistic weave lines the inside of the coat while light plates of ballistics-resistant materials are worn over the chest, shoulders and thighs. The ceremonial helmet is insulated with a kevlar membrane cushioned with padding, with the inside of the faceplate is host to a moulded flatscreen to project a view provided by microcameras in the helmet, allowing the wearer unrestricted vision. These reinforcements serve to both enhance the profile of the Dragon and provide protection in the event of attack on any parade or garrison the Dragon wearing this outfit is posted at.
Almost all of the Blood Dragon Guard are Drkanir, and so wear a similar but suitable outfit for their anatomy ,although non-Draknir Blood Dragons are not unheard of. While not as protective or pragmatic as a full warskin, this armour is generally seen by the Guard as an acceptable middle-ground between a decorative display armour and a combat-capable warskin.
