I’d be extremely uncomfortable in this situation. On the one hand, I can barely take care of myself. Me being responsible for someone else would surely end in disaster.
On the other hand, I’d have serious misgivings about murdering a sentient creature, no matter how deformed they might be.
Be interesting to see how Sammy deals with this, and whether his heart of gold remains true.

Nice to see Samson's compassion coming to the fore once again. "It always bit him in the ass, some way or another." - I loved that line.
I also really like how you layer the world-building naturally into your chapters, drip-feeding the exposition and avoiding any big info-dumps. Your werewolf 'universe' is impressively detailed, but the reader never feels overloaded. There's a good example of this right here in this chapter, when you establish that a bitten man will father werewolves, but a bitten woman only humans. The logic makes good sense.
