Canonically at this point she has pre-installed knowledge but this is the first time she opens her eyes.
More than a baby you can make similarities with those unrealistic amnesiacs you see in movies and TV-shows. She is not brain-damaged, can totally form new memories, and also mechanically know how to do stuff like driving or walking and uhmm... what a tree is, and stuff like that. So. Yeah, "unrealistic TV-like amnesiac with selective memory loss" is somehow more fitting as a known trope to apply here.
A baby would not know how to walk, move, sing, dance, fly, and other stuff she totally knows how to do.
Basically she is getting winded for the first time... and has no clue about how that would look like to a human being, because up to the day before she did not even have the accessory for that... and the guy did not exactly install anything sex-related in her "memory" (which canonically is a disc with holes that have pins that gets read and the pins can get shifted around by a different mechanism)
She opens her eyes and starts assessing the situation.
She is basically nearly blind at this point because the room is a cozy 270 to 300 degrees Celsius and her vision is heat-based.
(If you wonder why the man is not on fire, basically try and stick you hand in an oven, that's how it feels, but the temperature is indeed also that high).
So all she sees is this man trying to wind her while obviously in distress, all the fire around her is basically a wall that prevents her to see anything... and the only cool stuff that she is getting information from (aka "that she can see") is the man, the floor and the (slightly) open skylight window above.
He is literally suffocating because of the smoke and before he was unable to go through the fire to get to safety because he did not wish to leave her behind and also he is paralyzed by fear, the fire itself had canonically not spread that far... before he started winding her... but it takes 20 minutes before she even opens her eyes... so basically this man has been breathing smoke for the past 20+ minutes (plus what he had been breathing before he work up) because at this point he was a psychological mess of paranoia and fears.
My... "mad genius" guy is basically real-life mad. 😓
She realizes that this is bad, because she is way beyond operational parameters, she knows the room is on fire only because her vision tells her that these temperature around her are all associated with fire but she does not really see much... because it's all fire... and the man is in distress... though she has no idea why or how (she is no medic and has no clue fire can harm and she can't smell so she does not know smoke suffocates people, since... well she was not programmed for that and for some of it she can't really get a feedback) so she is figuring a way to help him. Going below the floor is not an option so even though the floor is a lot cooler... she sees it's limited by where the fire starts, so she will bring him to the other cool place she just saw.
Basically this image is her understanding "fire is bad, man is inside fire, cool stuff is in these two directions, let us go in that direction that i cannot touch yet" Think of it like a "reverse moth to a flame" with... uhm... the same identical results.
She'll get better though. The man will rebuild her as an exercise/metaphor to basically rebuild his sanity, along with a surprising help.
