I don't understand. Why is it unfortunate? I actually tried to locate this story, but I don't see a link to any actual text stories. I don't exactly know the circumstances of this guy beyond a supposed obsession with this machine he created; that in a moment where his life was in danger, only then does it come to life. ^^;
i moved the story (summary plus ROT13) on the sotry's gallery.
But yes, basically the window is too small so she destroys her wings in the process... and due to the fact her wings are connected to her brain... well... she basically dies to save him.
Cue half of the remaining part 1 of the comic being about him desperately trying to find funds to repair and rebuild her.

It was basically his obsession with her that created this whole situation.
• First he started building her because he did not like the turn his country had taken post WWI
• Then he started fantasizing about her more and more until this wet dream (it's an "animated" picture but it takes 60 seconds for the second frame) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/33773110/
• Then he ended up going to a seedy '20s bar where they still served alcoholics while fraught with paranoia and doubts.
• Then he decided to "screw it" and built a literal vagina to wind her.
• The day after he realized what he did and like any good incel he started trashing around and basically made a scene and a mess...
• This led to this wildfire.
• Now she has to save him, but the only way is to basically kill herself to do it. (Here is a WIP of an image about that moment in the comic https://media.discordapp.net/attach.....84/unknown.png )
soooo basically most of the first part of the comic will be about him realizing what he did and trying to make up for it and also rebuilding her and bidding her farewell.
I... basically hated how most of these stories end up with the mad scientist destroying the robot... here the mad scientists rebuilds the robot after she destroyed herself to save him... and tries to let her go.
