Oct 2, 2042, Day 12-

So bit day today. Got to hear the news about what that growth behind me is. Sam was nice enough to come with to give me some moral support. Which I definitely needed. Also getting a nice heatwave going. Really odd to think of it being in the sixties in October. But oh well, at least I won’t need to wear my jacket for a while and it’s not bad enough to need the AC on.

I think that even before the doctor started speaking I had an idea of what was going to be said. I’ve noticed that the lump behind me is as long as my fingers now and can even wiggle a bit with some effort. There’s no way that something like that could be just a form of cancer. And the doctor did confirm that I have been exposed to a serum at some point in the recent past. They can’t exactly say what species I’m becoming, it’s too soon. If they had the exact variant they may be able to do something, but without knowing the exact serum it wouldn’t work and by the time my blood could show it, it’d be too late.

They had an officer show up and take statements about what I’ve been doing the past two weeks to try and establish when I likely got exposed so as to trace everything back to where it happened and if there are anyone else inflicted. I gave the answers honestly, what with this diary being a huge help. And Sam was silent this entire time. I think the news was very hard on him.

((I have to apologize for the quality of this one. It was just when I was drawing it today I was dealing an issue of lethargy. I don't know if it has anything to do with this series or whatnot and am close to a burnout or something? I don't think it has anything specifically about this series itself as I don't feel an aversion to touching it like I was starting to get with Arrondii. Most likely it was just the general lethargy I sometimes get because depression is fun like that. I should be good to keep at these, just don't expect me to start really upping the quality like I would really want (like my Sunday warmup drawings are often ending up higher quality than these and that does bother me a bit). I'll figure something out))
