I think Amarant is severely underrated as a character, but part of that is that he was not as fully developed as the others.
Still he had such a cool style and appearance to him, and well, bounty hunters are always badass anyway.
Not to mention I favor the hand to hand fighters or dragoons.
I know your rendition of Vivi is your favorite, but this one really catches my eye, and you captured him so well. This is my favorite of your FFIX works so far.

FF9 was the best FF for me, placing over FFT mostly for sentimental reasons. I really, really got into the story. ;u; This is a great rendition of Amarant; I feel so nostalgic looking at it and now I want to make my own FF9 fanart.
I loved that world and I'll always dream of getting the FF9 artbook. Nngh. Love the designs. For some reason I was always into the secondary characters more than the main ones!

I'm surprised you haven't drawn Freya yet (this being FA and all), but I agree: just about everyone in the party is awesome in their own right. It took a while for Eiko to grow on me tho. I wish Fratley and Lani could have guested in the party like Beatrix did. ;__;
FF9 had very quirky characters and was, I think, easier to engage with because a lot of the conflict was er, very personal? I mean you had the whole 'OHAY WE'RE GONNA CRASH OUR PLANET INTO URS KTHX' thing, but I liked how every character turned out to have their own story/conflicts to resolve. Also, it was more lighthearted; Tactics felt very SRS BSNS.

Doesn't help that FF9 asn't the most popular FF around in general. :/ It's a severely unappreciated game.
Speaking of unappreciated games, have you ever played Legend of Mana? It's got the appeal FF9 does in terms of character quirks, but a lot less of an overarching plot, haha.

Awww. I thought there were a lot of unnecessary quests, but there was something really charming about that game and its world, especially the sillier plots (like the centaur bard's endless quest for luuurve and the pirate penguins). The longer quest arcs were really ;_;-inducing sometimes.
asdfkjl; anyway sorry to talk your ear off haha. XD I love these games, in case it wasn't obvious.

... Yeah, those missions were pretty boring. :1a
There's actually an official manga but it's like, the game on crack (which is ALREADY on crack) so idk. :1a Made by the same guy who adapted Kingdom Hearts into a manga, if you're familiar with it.
