There is one very annoying thing about my current station is that I’ve found that I am completely unable to really unwind like I normally would. Work is stressful now. Not because of the work being all that difficult but because of the antagonistic responses from my coworkers, even the ones I had considered my friends and because there is that very real concern that soon I’ll be fired because I can no longer do my job well enough.
In the past there were two ways that I could unwind if I had a difficult day at work. The first was to spend some time with. Well. Him. But he’s gone now and I have to convince myself that this is all for the better that he is gone now, as painful as it is to still deal with. I have far more important things to concern myself with.
The second way was to play video games. Now in the video games I can still come off as feeling human, as back to being normal. If it weren’t for the fact that I really can’t use my device all that well anymore. I mean I guess it makes sense. Something designed to fit perfectly with a human-shaped head doesn’t do nearly as well with an inhuman head. My head seems to have gotten longer than before and my ears don’t fit well.

Have I tried VRChat? No. But the point was more the headsets are usually designed for a particular head shape to maximize comfort when worn for prolonged periods of time. And when your head is no longer human-head shaped and your ears are no longer in the expected position for a human, it can make it extremely difficult to use comfortably.
