<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>When Marissa and Mekie finally leave the secondhand adventuring goods shop, Aubelle is in the process of hanging up a "closed" sign and can be seen hurrying into the back of the shop, tugging a bit at the suddenly far too tight and constricting fabric over her magical "enhancements". It seems this particular shop will not be doing much business for the next few hours.
After translation, Smiles happily chews on the meat-on-a-stick, although it takes her a few tries before she realizes that the stick is not part of the snack. Still, she does her best, perhaps smiling a bit too much, judging from the wary expressions of the fellow shoppers you encounter.
The Alchemists' shop is located without incident - except perhaps a goosing of the ferret. This perhaps comes as a disappointment to the vigilant Swordsage. No pick-pockets or thugs or waylayers attempt to accost the party. The town guard ignores the "monster" and thief except some uneasy eying to be sure they're not up to no good. The shop is in good repair and has a rather obvious sign outside, written both in Anubian and Southern and there is a big picture of a stylized potion bottle for those who may be illiterate.
Inside the air in the shop has an odd blend of scents - sharp and spicy and sour and sweet and musky with hints of brimstone and sulfur all mixed together. Not the most pleasant smells to the mammalian nose, or the troglodyte either, judging from the way Smiles is wrinkling her nose. Still, the Alchemist behind the counter seems to do good business! Oaso, as the skinny, pale gray desert fox introduces himself as, is well dressed and his shop is quite well stocked with all sorts of potions and ingredients and spell components. It seems Oaso also sells components for the magically inclined. "How can I help you...fine...uhhh...adventurers?" He murrs, his tone friendly and helpful, despite the dubious glances he gives Smiles.

"hi were about to make you lots of money" mekie sais as an introduction as she leans over the counter showing off a little clevage. "our dear freind Aubelle told us to come here with a propositon for you. our freind smiles here is leader of a troglodite tribe that is interested in trading. they grow giant mushrooms that glow in the dark and are just sick of eating nothing but them...." mekie smiles at the alchemist to let the information sink in. "and while were curently working on a list of various busineses she can bring her supply to for trade Aubelle told us that you would just love to create some lanterns out of some of smiles crop.... provided she gets first dibs on your first batch of them." mekie smiles at the alchemist (would like to roll a diplomacy check to improve the mans mood towards us and this propositon)
*smiles at the older fox n waves playfully to him "Hey!" she smiles happily bouncing over n happily scans the stuff behind him for interesting whatnots. her mind having forgotten about most of why we came she goes into heavy flirt mode n idly chatters with the fox "neat store!" she purrs happily n looks about "Hmm..got scrolls by chance?"
While there is not an alchemist class, exactly, you could fake one by going with a rogue or monk class, specializing in thrown weapons, and then taking a crapload of alchemy skill. Maybe throw in some wand and scroll skills as well and you have a fairly decent "mechanical" type magic user. Get your alchemy high enough, and you'd pretty much be the McGuyver of the D&D universe...
(You could always play an Artificer, or.....why not this guy http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/bas.....ses/alchemist)
