Furry D&D - Deity profile, Hondel, rabbit god of paperwork
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>Whee! Filler time again! This time you get to hear about another "local" deity.
Hondel is the rabbit demigod of civilization, politicians and commerce. He is the god of bureaucracy, paperwork and trade. Hondel is a relatively new god, at first worshiped only by scribes and paper-pushers, who called upon his grace to be able to finish the audit on time, or find that elusive file where they had already checked five times for it before. Hondel always depicted as a slightly portly elderly rabbit who wears thick glasses. His symbol is a quill pen. Although Hondel has no real temples or places of worship, other then offices and file archives everywhere, where his worshipers constantly call upon his grace, there have been a few clerics of Hondel that have appeared now and then. The other gods mostly think him a joke and religious philosophers predict his worship will not last. Hondel's domains are rune, knowledge and law. He is Lawful Evil.
Looking at the various potions and implements for sale, there are many potions on the shelves lining the shop, most fairly common. Simple mixtures to help with pains and aches of all sorts, ease birth, cure various simple ailments abound. One particularly bright green bottle catches the eye, labeled as a sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, fever, so you can rest potion. Behind the counter, the alchemist keeps a few of his more expensive potions - magical brews that can heal wounds, cure deadly poisons, prevent burns, make one stronger - the sort of thing an adventurer might find useful.
Oaso tilts his head curiously at Marissa's question, but then shakes his head. "Alas, good...ahhh...sorceress? No wands here. I deal mostly in potions and tinctures, although I do have some spell components if you're in need of that sort." He grins goodnaturedly after Mekie's spiel. "Just got back from an adventure, if you're coming from Aubelle's shop, yes? Need to stock up?"
Turning his attention to Mekie, he remarks "Making lots of money is always a good thing. Does your...ahhh...friend there have a sample? I'd like to see these mushrooms..."
It takes very little to get Smiles to understand what Oaso is wanting, and after just a cursory inspection, the Alchemist seems quite impressed. "Oh wow! Where did you find such large specimens of Royal lights? I would be willing to pay handsomely for these! I don't suppose you can get more? At least a handful would make us both quite a bit of gold..." He pauses a moment and looks a bit anxiously at Smiles "You do understand...gold? Right?"
Of course, not speaking "common" Smiles understands nothing he just said...

(firstly the pic is a nice one and i like the deity. lawfull evil huh. well i supose most true papper pushers have to be a little on the dark side to be ruthlessly efficiant at their jobs. i like the deity. it seems like someone who likes it when others underestimate him and dont pay any atenttion to him so that he can go about his real plans with non the wiser)
after marissa translates for smiles ill grin at the alchemist "our friend here is most interested in making her village a little more civilized and of course gold always helps the transition. trust me mr alchemist you treat smiles here right and shell get you enough of these mushrooms to make you both very VERY wealthy. marissa here is not lying either. be a fair business partner and you'll have more of those shrooms than you could ever need"
(making a diplomacy check here to entice him)
leaning in close to him and waving her hand away from his face dramatically so he can picture it "just imagine... an Oaso lantern in every window of every house and one big one on every street corner....you could be known as the man that turned this place into a city of lights" mekie smiles at him and grins wickedly at her friends enjoying getting a chance to let her sly tongue get things done for her.

((Bwahahahahahaaa! Awesome! I had not even considered that, but of course proper worship of the god of paperwork would require paperwork! *ponders* The form is five days long. And yes, I'm measuring paperwork in a time span. You have to fill out the form for five days. Nobody has ever really completed it yet...))
