Blasmo Crux was much as a muscle lover as his future instructor Timothy Soro, as he was born with a myostatin-induced muscle hypertrophy and suprisingly an ability to temporarily transform into his lean, less muscular self at will. Back in his fishing hometown of Barraco, he enjoyed being a muscular kid back in his high school, where he had been seen as cocky. Often times bullies tried to catch him off-guard and beat him down until he limped, but Blasmo was so used to that, that he would have to handicap their arms or legs until they stopped attacking him. A strong fighter had left tens of bullies injured and a few more handicapped, forcing the school principal to expel him to prevent intensifying issues left on his bullies, but the said bullies ended up killing most of the staff, including the principal, and destroying a half of his school.

Yet he was undetered and went off to another school. Bullies from his previous school attempted to rile up the disillusioned against Blasmo, but it ended up in even a bigger disaster. For few more years, he would have to go from school to another, and yet his bullies kept stalking him until one day where their leader slipped off, high from the catwalk, during Blasmo's performance in a school talent program.

After that point, Blasmo could enjoy his high school without any interference, albeit a well-contained resentment from his remaining enemies. As he had graduated, he came upon a TV commercial that promoted the MALAKAS Project, but what drew his attention was the eye candy, some big brown fox named Timothy Soro, just 6 feet and a half tall. Now inspired with his new desire to become a bigger bodybuilder, he spent a month working in a fishing job until he had enough to both sign up for the project and pay for a bus to Santo Tomas, the only hub for transport to the mountain base operating the said project.

His whole experience in the mountain base was no different from almost every recruit, but with few, big exceptions. Blasmo was really excited to be around Timothy, to the point of staying in his private bunker few times, not a big deal though. However, his cockiness and his experience of enduring bullies essentially made him a main source of the so-called 'Training by Bullying', a concept where a recruit had to endure both the training and the bullying reigned upon by either their instructor or their fellow recruit. This inspired many recruits and instructors like Timothy to act mean towards each other and new recruits, but consequently caused a negative hit on discipline as shown in later half of 2020. Critics and other recruits did not just complain about that concept, they also hated how it was practiced, despite the other side defending that it meant no intentional harm but a reminder that this world was often harsh place and that recruits needed to toughen up.

In August 2020, this increasingly counterproductive scenario prompted the higher-ups to hire a local psychiatrist named Athena Longhair to investigate the phenomenon. Athena had concluded that the 'Training by Bullying' concept was never directly made by Blasmo Crux himself, but rather based on recruits' observation on his cocky way of living. Blasmo's situation being written as lack of self-awareness brought Timothy back to his senses. Timothy confronted Blasmo, who confessed to have been cocky for almost his entire life. Blasmo became bored in his later high school days, as he failed to find an incentive that would match his desire for muscles, until he watched the TV commercial, mostly fascinated about Timothy's body. He also admitted to have not done anything productive since high school either, as he had long been under a persistent barrage from his bullies. This confession caused Timothy to respond,
Timothy: As much as I want to emphasize with your beginning, the more you live up like this, the sooner I see this as an excuse. What do you want from us to make you do something productive?
Blasmo: Well, I can't remember much of that commercial besides you, except a forementioned list of jobs.
Timothy: Oh, that sounds nice. I have a brochure right here. Please pick one.
Blasmo: I'd like to go for surfing...
Timothy: You've gotta train more for the next competition
Blasmo: And fishing
Timothy: ...You did mention to me few times you're into fishing
Blasmo: I know, but like, I wanna shoot a harpoon upon a big fish in a sea, like an orca, a shark, or even a whale.
Timothy: Definitely not up to international fishing standards these days, I see where you're going. And I think there is a way to help you set yourself up.
Blasmo: Really? Please show me, my big guy!

Eventually, Blasmo was given a program appropriate to both his skills and his desire. Two weeks later, he got honorably discharged and returned back to Barraco, where he immediately signed up for the surfing contest coming up in a next few days and started working for the newly opened whaling port. In a span of one month, his active work in whaling, and to the extent fishing-related labors, had made up a fifth of the town's whole economy, compared to its previous one-twentieth annual income. Blasmo still had enemies lurking at him, but he didn't care. Instead, he opted to live his life as usual, albeit with the upcoming surfing contest and then the whaling job.
