Oaso's eyes widen slightly at Marissa's statement of royal lights as big as houses. It doesn't take much of an attempt at diplomacy on Mekie's part to convince the alchemist that this business prospect is in his best interests, and shortly, with the help of friendly translators and Smiles gradual picking up of common, the alchemist and Smiles work out quite a deal where the Trog will provide fresh royal lights in exchange for gold. She seems quite determined to have Girthy provide her the transportation she needs for the mushrooms for some reason. Perhaps the heavy set rabbit had a few words with her on the way to At'Lor. Having grown up with the wiley caravaneer, Whault is fairly certain his adoptive parent somehow had some sort of influence on Smiles decision.
Soon, Oaso seals the deal with a handshake with Smiles, despite the later's confusion about exactly why she is clasping hands with the desert fox. You find yourself loitering in Oaso's shop, although the fox seems for the most part too gleeful at his recent bounty to do much more then chortle happily as he considers his future wealth.
Mekie's diplomacy check: Oaso needs very little diplomacy to convince him this deal is good, and at a DC check of 5, Mekie could only fail with a fumble. Nevertheless, I did roll to see how she did:

mekie practicaly purs at the deal struck and smiles at smilea behavior. once the deal is struck mekie will look at the alchemist and grin. "now that we have that bit of business out of the way. perhaps you can supply me with something that could let me breath underwater. and for that matter id like to be able to see in the dark. ive got money to pay for it too and ohh yeahhhh...." mekie leans in real close and whispers to him "from what i can understand smiles tribe seals deals like the one you just made with sex and you just give her a handshake... you tease" she sais with a devilish grin mainly just to tease. (mekie is only saying this baised on how smiles gained controll of her tribe from that one male. shes likely way off but she just wants to see his reaction)
