The biggest importance for this particular chapter is introducing Eric to Anon. Eric was always meant to be a sort of wise mentor to Richard (well, Mige is kind of doing that? More specifically Eric was meant to be someone that if Richard needed advice he'd go to him. Mige is more of the dutiful friend making sure he's taking care of himself) as well as an assistant to Anon. There are quite a few plot lines in the future that require Eric and Anon to be working together. Especially in regards to having Anon have access to a master of Con magic and illusions.

Ironically enough, the reward for Mige is actually rather meaningless to the story at large. Because we never go to Mige's home in the story you are never shown the statue itself. Nor does Mige ever bring it up again. If anything it's more to the benefit of the reader to expand upon Mige's character and a bit of Ret's as well. And this is the end of Episode 3, meaning I'll need to figure out what to make for the thumbnail of Episode 4, as well as the stories still missing a thumbnail
