So, Sherryl decided that wherever Tina was taking her (i.e. a "shortcut") was going to make a mess of her jeans. Although unmentioned, they must have cost her a decent amount, as she doesn't want to risk them either. In order to save them from harm, she's picked out a pair of khaki shorts to wear into the wet wilderness, intending to wear them out of the store after using the store's fitting room to change into them. Here, we see Abby Randal, a ringtail cat OC of
backlash in her role as the store's cashier, chosen from a number of candidates I solicited in a journal a couple of months ago.
This marks the 100th page of WmF?, the comic that was never declared a webcomic because I knew I wasn't going to be able to keep up a schedule 9_9 XD
Technical:
Owing to some less-than-simple background elements that would have to be seen from a number of angles, I elected to build a set in 3D using Sketchup Make 2017. The cashier station, the divider opposite it, and the shirt display on the far wall were all done this way, with the camera positioned at the appropriate angle, then exporting a 2D image that is positioned behind the characters. Basically the only non-3D objects that aren't character artwork are the credit-card reader and the shirts stacked up in the cubbyholes in the far wall behind Tina. I imagine as time goes on, I will craft more objects that can be re-used to populate sets (I know about SketchUp's 3d warehouse, but I'm trying to learn how to build my own models)
Digital drawing done in Clip Studio Paint EX with indoor backdrops from SketchUp Make 2017. 29 layers, 29MB .CLIP file. Part of Project ID# 500 (page 100)
