“So where do you plan to get us some pokechow?” the pikachu asks.

“We’re not getting pokechow,” I respond quickly as we start getting to the city again. “We’re getting some real food.”

“Ooh! I would really enjoy a nice big steak,” Maria says, rubbing her paws together.

“We’re not getting a steak, we’re getting burgers. It’ll be so much better, trust me on this.”

“Um, are you sure?” Maria asks me skeptically. “I mean, you are kind of lacking in the opposable thumbs department. How would you even eat a burger?”

“This isn’t something that I just chose on a whim. My human form went about scouting this place out. We’re going to a restaurant that specializes in making gourmet food for both humans and pokemon. They custom make this spiced bread that’s baked hard enough and firm enough that even pokemon without hands will be able to hold it without having to worry about it falling apart. The problem with a steak is that, yes, it is a lot of meat, but it’s very difficult for pokemon to really enjoy it as well as you might think. We can’t use steak knives to cut it into tiny little portions and most sauces are wasted on us. Like I said, this place is better. They have a burger made from the same cut of beef they use on their human burgers, but crafted in a way specifically with pokemon in mind.”
