“Nothing you want in life should come easy. At least if you want to reach the very pinnacle of success,” I say after I’ve gotten my fill of water and reflect on me tiring out earlier and half wondering if I need more endurance training. “Though I suppose that could be another thing for you to consider. If you can’t read them, then do the next best thing and make it so that they cannot attack you.”

“I don’t have quick attack. I can’t move like you can.”

“You don’t need to. If they’re moving around, just provide no openings. It takes a lot less energy to simply follow them and keep your defenses up than it is for them to avoid any potential attack. Might come across as a bit boring, but if you wear out their endurance they’re far easier to attack as you saw earlier. Else they’ll have to change their own strategy. The point is that the more you can make your opponent have to act on your terms, to fight you as you want them to fight you, the better off you are. And if they are doing something you aren’t good at, make it so that they can’t use that and win. If you’re interested, you should maybe see about learning a game of strategy like chess or go.”
