I notice after taking down yet another that they’ve pretty much completely separated us. We’ve allowed ourselves to be herded so effectively that even after a quick attack I couldn’t reach any of Maria’s opponents. This has effectively become two completely separate battlefields. Of course since they don’t have any means to do anything about it I start trying to herd them back towards Maria, but that’ll take a long time as I have to make sure to keep them in range of my attacks. Already a dozen pokemon have fallen and though I’m definitely feeling the exertion I haven’t really taken much of any hits. I ponder briefly if it might be beneficial to help Maria out, to abandon my two, dash to her aid and turn her side into a two against two until the other two show up, but then I glance over to the side and see the Rocket members, one of them looking far more concerned than the others. And I remember my curse. If we defeat one of the trainers will my curse activate and bite them immediately or will it wait until all are down before triggering? I remember against that last trainer, it takes complete control over me. We may be at a slight risk if we do defeat one of them.

((I apologize for how little is shown in this drawing. But I really wanted to show the scale of just how far apart they are now, and the best way I could think of was to show a zoomed out display of the battle))

Sorry, no werekachu in this segment. Even though it has been a few months since they got the curse, there'd be no way that Michael could contribute to this fight in any meaningful way, at least without then making other two have to bend over backwards to defend them. They simply wouldn't be strong enough to compete.
That said, I am tempted to have part 4 focus around Michael as the protagonist. From this one I definitely feel I need to start approaching these with more of a plan of proper progression so that I'm not feeling like i have to top myself in every regard for each segment, and going with a much lower leveled character would help with that. And then try to raise the stakes of the series in a different way to keep it with a solid sense of progression without going the dbz route of each threat has to be more powerful than the last which means we'd have to be fighting Arceus and maybe another legendary in like a year.
Haven't decided what to do exactly, but I have until maybe January to figure out what part 4 should be about and what direction the story should ultimately take
